yes I did, that 2nd book was one of the ones I tried, for some reason even though I wanted to read more about the characters/setting I couldn't get into it. I'll try it again in a while. I also attempted to get further in the book that I told you and Diana about before that sounded like something she'd like but you wouldn't (creation lake), and some other various books (a romance with a great title but I couldn't deal with it was one). I think part of it was that Those Beyond the Wall was so good on so many levels that my expectations were too high! oh well! I have a few more to try that might be good. I'll give them a go.
Too funny! I'll have to check out crunchyroll.com. I googled manga and it says it's Japanese comics and it sounds intriguing.
- Do you donate your read books to your local library?? If you do, they must love you. 😂 I have such a hard time putting down books because I feel obligated to read them since I spent money on them. And you, you go through them like a hay fever sufferer goes through tissues. 😂 I really do hope you find something soon. :D
- Oh, no, don't get sucked into crunchroll! 😂 Manga are a lot more then just comics. They are full novels done in a comic book style. Imagine if War and Peace was done in a comic. It'd be massssssive but you get the idea. :D
I checked crunchyroll.com out but you have to pay for everything. I may see if I can check something manga out from our local library to see if I like it or not. Please don't tell me he likes Sailor Moon!! ;-) You doing thanksgiving? I just ordered a prime rib meal for it as hubs doesn't like turkey and him and Liz unanimously wanted prime rib. 🙄
well, I don't usually spend money on them unless I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy them, or if I do it's not much money. I borrow a lot of my books from the library, and a lot more I get in book swaps at my employer's book swap room (it's pretty big), which is where I donate most of the ones I don't want to keep. And I shop library discard sales and used bookstores pretty often, or I used to, anyway. I did find a good one to read, now, it's Angel of the Crows, really enjoying it so far.
how are the parakeets you're pet-sitting doing? I haven't had one of those since I was very young, but I think they're pretty sturdy and tolerant for pet birds?
Thanks! I've noticed a lot of pirate has a day Mermaids does someone know something I don't LOL
Well diana got the rift one from drills I don't know about the storm one tho! He keeps giving me retired subq at least xD
Some of our Kroger have closed my mom's favorite Big lots is going out of business she loves it like you do
I'm not sure I know what pirate has a day mermaids are, but, maybe my HA is one of them?
I'm just trying to make more amusing HAs for Diana's entertainment, mostly 🤣
Lucky on the retired Subeautique! nice finds indeed. though the missing anniversary tops are better.......
- You do the same thing I used to do when I could see the books. Everytime I finished a book, off to the library it went. They ended up having a very big fantasy/sci fi section. My employer didn't have a book swap troom but they did have books left in the lounge for anyone who wanted them. I found a few Stephen King books there. It was nice. :) I'm glad you like the book. I'm off to Audible to see what it's about. ;)
- Yep. We're doing the whole thing, turkey plus fixings. I can't wait for the stuffing and cranberry sauce. Prime rib sounds lovely. Perhaps we'll have that for Christmas instead of our usual ham. :D
- I found a thread about the cookies where Amber said that the cookies weren't meant to be so rare, it just happened that way. Plus, she's going to do something in December that makes sure everyone gets at least one copy of each cookie. I'm wondering if she is going to give them out as Melody items.
Also, does anyone know if Tartelette (or someone else) is going to do the Melody's Helpers Secret Santa? I have not seen a sign up for it yet and am wondering if anyone else has?
- are you going to do the TGC Secret Santa or is someone else? Haven't seen a sign up sheet there, either. :)
The parakeets are doing great and I can see them when I'm sitting at my desk. I'm glad they're sturdy as I would die if anything were to happen to them and I set the heat higher last night as I got worried they might get cold. Their names are Sky and Periwinkle. LOL
Oh no! So your mom is sad about losing her Big Lots too? At least we have Discount Direct. :-)
Stuffing and cranberry sauce are both yum! I usually make my own cranberry sauce with pineapple in it as it helps to sweeten the cranberries. We usually do traditional Thanksgiving dinner and Prime Rib on Christmas but Philip and Liz wanted the Prime Rib and I don't really care.
- I like the turkey dinner sandwich that Panera Bread has. It's got the stuffijng, cranberry sauce, roasted turkey, and gravy like a traditional meal. :) I would take a prime rib dinner whether or not it was a holiday. 😂 Not big on prime rib, though? Sometimes it can get heavy and I feel sluggish after eating it. :D
OMG that sounds delicious! I need to go to Panera Bread now and we have one close by. I love Prime Rib and I'm happy they both wanted it over ham or turkey. We ordered a premade dinner from our local Safeway grocery store. If I spend the time to make all the things I like I'll be stuck eating everything. LOL
cute names, after their colors I take it? Also I just noticed your family's first names are all kind of British-royalty-sounding 😆
about an angel in the late 1800s that solves supernatural crimes I guess? still enjoying it, nearly halfway done
Yes the parakeets are named after their colors but the one named Sky looks green to me. LOL They are both super cute though. You're way too smart!!!! No one else has ever noticed that about our names. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I always tell people that my daughter is actually the queen. 🤣 And one of Prince Charles's middle names is Philip.
I hate to be the one to tell you but SPOILER (click to toggle)
it's King Charles, and the Queen is his wife Camilla now, the queen with the same name as your daughter is no longer alive
I know. 😭 But back in the day the Queen was Elizabeth and the DIL was Diana. Sad she was taken so early!!!
- So, what fixings did you get with this pre-made dinner? I'll admit, I love pre-made dinners. They're so quick and easy, almost like eating out. :D
- I'm glad you're enjoying it. I added it to my wishlist. So many good books, not enough time in the day. Ugh, 1st world problems. lol 😂
Love it! Now I need to make more silly HA's.
Dang I can't find it. I went back to Safeway and now they don't show the prime rib dinner. I even checked the email they sent me. Wonder what's up with that. All I can remember for sure it's sweet potato that looked like they were sauced and baked sliced apples. I also think it has green bean casserole and mashed potatoes. I bought a pumpkin pie and froze it as I know it didn't include that and I need to buy some stovetop stuffing for Liz. I do usually cook the traditional sides and Philip cooks a roast so when he suggested buying it precooked I gave no argument. Lol
more good books than time to read is a good thing. the reverse is what would be a problem (more time to read than good books)
yeah I am really enjoying the silly HA thing
Super sad idk what she buys but she gets a certain item too LOL
Im running the TGC one and Tart has sadly been MIA since Jan on subeta checked in around March so I dont think she will be running one this year
Love the amusement your has are always unique!
