nods I'd looked at a small one bedroom place, but it felt way too claustrophobic for me - I'm not organised and disciplined enough to be able to use a smaller space like that! 😊 I've been able to have some of Grandad's old furniture, which saved some money on getting things ;) But it's definitely proving fun so far in looking for things (even curtains - although I still need to shorten them to make them fit the window better) ;) :D

Yeah, I'd been looking at the breeds that are used for guide dogs and hearing dogs, and labs seem to be the favourite :D I know some smaller breeds are used as hearing dogs for the Deaf, but I think a lab sized dog would be more my style ;)

I was going to work on my entry today, but I've spent yesterday and today working on sorting out my website with a techie-friend.... it was going really well until he 'broke' something and the site stopped working. Just hoping he can fix it today, and not have to work on it tomorrow as well!

Niamh's insisted on changing again :P

That was the last bit of 'big' work that needed doing, but that still leaves replacing the carpet (it's got moth damage, and we've found a couple of moths so far) - my plan is to have a 'wood' floor (realistically it'll be kind of vinyl tiles with a wood effect :P) in one room plus the hall, then the other rooms will still have carpet but not one with any wool content (so the moths can't chew it).... plus painting!

Surprisingly enough Dad's not too keen at gardening in the rain :P but he does like walks in the rain for some reason o.O

this one looks good too.

well painting will give it a nice fresh look as will replacing the carpet in places :D

lol okay that's odd. Maybe because he's moving more actively in a walk rather than garden.

certainly it's starting to look more like "mine" now rather than someone else's - getting the old water tank out has helped with that (and the hot water pressure now is equal to the cold pressure, which is a huge improvement!) :D

Still need to clean the walls before they can be painted (the ceiling has brown staining where I'm guessing the previous owner didn't heat the room, so that'll need some more attention before it gets painted - I don't want to risk the brown showing through the paint after a while!).

Admittedly we have been working on the allotment with me holding a golfing umbrella for Dad as it suddenly started raining :P but walking is his preferred thing when it's raining (or a thunderstorm) ;)

A reckon a small one bedroom apartment would not work out too well if you want to continue sewing. You need some space for that. I do sometimes wish I had more than one bedroom, but it is just not in my budget. Great that you have been able to reuse some of your Grandads old furniture. :D

As an added bonus, labs are super cute! And don't require a ton of grooming. That is also something to consider when picking a dog, some need regular grooming sessions which can get costly or/and time-consuming if you want to do it yourself.

Were you able to get the website to work in the end? :)

Did the recital go well for you? :) I am mostly just working on diamond paintings and doing some gaming here and there. Completed Mario Wonder. Great game!

yeah, trying to squash the sewing machine into the bedroom would've been challenging! And it works much better with a separate room, as I don't need to pack it all away before bed if I'm part way through making something! ;)

That's a good point on grooming - some of the long haired breeds would be really challenging (and cost a lot in getting them clipped as well!)

nods it took two days in the end with both of us working on it, but it's finally sorted (he thought we might need to work on it for a third day, but the last part was done in an hour thankfully!) :D

That is one thing that is stopping me from doing much scrapbooking anymore. It is quite a chore to bring everything out of storage and tidy it back up after. o-o

Some dog breeds do not shed at all, so they need to be clipped. :) Glad you got all the issues sorted for your website, that is great going! :D

That's certainly what stopped me doing any painting.... I spent more time getting the stuff out then tidying up and packing it away, than I did actually painting in the first place! o.O

I was pleased I wasn't working on sorting my website solo - I think I would've just abandoned it part way through, as it was getting pretty complicated at times! 😊

a coat of paint will help that even more :D and of course, furniture XD There are some base coats that are supposed to cover stains and prevent them from showing through the top coats.

hehe I love the golf umbrella gardening. I can totally see it.

It was frustrating but I finally got a take that I was more or less happy with. I love that game. Did you get Paper Mario thousand year door? I got it on the 23rd. Played it years and years ago but forgot a lot of it. I beat it in a week lmao.

and given that there's more moths coming out from the airing cupboard (what idiot decided to have carpet on the floor in the airing cupboard?!), changing the carpets will be a necessity as well :K I've been lucky in that I've got some of Gran & Grandad's old furniture, so the only furniture I've had to buy so far was a folding bed (temporary just I can do some overnights there before I feel ready to move in properly) and a couple of chairs ;)

nods that'd definitely be what will get used for that! When it comes to the hall, the paint's flaking off the ceiling (I think it got affected by the steam from the bathroom over time), so I'm tempted to have bathroom paint for the hall, just so it can cope with steam ;)

It wasn't the easiest of umbrellas to hold, but given that we don't have a shed and there's no shelter on the allotment site, it was the best option ;)

ooo I love the HA today :D

It is a shame really. I have so many nice supplies for scrapbooking and projects I could do. o-o Maybe next fall I will give it a go, and just live with the mess for a while. :P Maybe you can find space for painting at your new place. :)

I have not played the new paper Mario game, but I want to, as well as the Mario RPG game. Both looks really good!

Have you got space for a small table / desk? I've seen some kind of crafting areas where people have managed to build storage into the table, or have something like a door that closes over the table so any unfinished projects aren't visible ;) My Grandad used to have a curtain on a wire under the table in the spare room, so he could just leave any unfinished projects there without them cluttering the room up :P

No room for any more furniture. :P I do my diamond painting at my kitchen island. lol The island provide a lot of extra storage, but is filled up by kitchen stuff mostly. :)

Not a bad idea your Grandad had there! I have some boxes with lids under my livingroom table. I can put a knitting project extra in there if it is not too big. ;)

the kitchen island was a brilliant idea - was it a moveable one?

I started filing my unfinished sewing projects under my sewing desk... but it ended up looking really untidy :K so if I can't actually get on and finish some of them, I might just attach a curtain to it, so I don't have to look at them all sitting there unfinished 😇 But having boxes under the table works much better, so they stay tidy and aren't so visible that it starts annoying you! ;)

ive never heard of carpet in a cupboard before o.0 Did you get all the months out? LOl it's too bad they don't have rent-a-cat like they have rental sheeps. LOL I find that so awesome and amusing.

Not bad! Gotta love free furniture.

I think that might be a good idea. The hall won't know the difference of the paint.

LOL gotta do what you gotta do right? :D

thank you :) Yours is pretty spiffy too.

The violin recital is going to be live streamed on You tube on Friday. I will send a link and you should be able to view it when ever you wish. I appear to be towards the end of the hour.

I've only played the paper mario but it's a lot of fun :D

ooo love the new HA :D

I think there's still moths in there :K I've got a portable rug cleaner thing, so once that's charged up (darn thing takes 4 hours to charge, for 35 minutes of use!), hopefully I can drown those moths that might still be in the cupboard carpet 😇 The built-in wardrobes have carpet as well, so they'll need doing too :K Rent-a-cat would be purrfect to catch them!

nods I figured the paint might help the hall look decent for longer! ;)

Are you looking forward to watching it, or would you want to be fast forwarding your part? :P

My dad did put wheels on my kitchen island, so I can move it around even though it heavy. :D He built it from kitchen cabinets and a countertop from Ikea. :D

I like your idea. Out of sight, out of mind. 👼 And having it tucked into boxes stops Pusur from getting into the yarn and making a mess out of things too. He loves yarn and anything made from yarn. lol

I played a paper Mario game in my 3ds before, can't remember what is was called exactly. Right now I am not happy with Hogwarts Legacy. When I played this weekend the game kept crashing at a certain point. Maybe it was the lastest update causing issues. Not sure.

that's a really neat idea having wheels on it! My kitchen's a bit of a weird design - there's lots of cupboards & drawers, but everything seems to be for someone who is a lot taller than me.... even the counter top feels higher than at my parents' place o.O I've got a little step thing in the kitchen now, so I can reach what's in the cupboards :P

I can imagine that can be a nightmare if you're trying to knit something and Pusur just wants to play with the yarn? ;)

Thank you. Yours is great too lol though poor Nimha looks a little soggy.

ugh. You could buy some cedar balls. It's literally balls of cedar wood. It's a natural bug repellent and no nasty chemical smell. I have some in my violin cases.

Do you know what colour you'd like to pain it?

lol kinda both.

it was probably the first one which was simply called Paper Mario :) It was fun. ugh I hate that. Hope it gets fixed soon.
