you could always use the skin and cover it with a full body mod of some kind - so you've still made a HA using that skin, but don't have to look at it? 😇

Old habits die hard they say. :P I don't really remember the full names of any of my old teachers so I wouldn't be able to find them on facebook even if I wanted to. I was invited to a reunion once, but I declined. :P

One would think having the windows open almost all day long should be enough. o-o I am not sure about insulation in my walls really, and what they used. I have been thinking about repainting the window sills anyway, as one of them does not look that good anymore thanks to the potted plants I keep there. :K

I am still waiting for the last part of your gift as well, seems like that one is taking some time too. Silly snail mail!

I hope everything goes well on Wednesday. :) Let us know how it goes.

I did the same with the reunion I was invited to - I don't want to meet up and hear how successful they are in their jobs or whatever! :P

I ended up getting some melamine trays for my plants to sit on in the window sill - it leaves less of a mark on the sill, and it's easier to clean if any soil drops out from the pots / move the plants to clean the windows ;) But the window sill in my room has gone sticky in places - I'm guessing the heat from the summer sunshine has melted some of the glue that had previously been used to fill a dent in the sill or something o.O

Looks like your parcel should finally be arriving either today or tomorrow :D (and that was an unexpected tracking update - I thought the next would just be when it had been delivered!)

Same, and not to mention some people I didn't exactly feel like meeting again. :P

Using trays for your plants sounds like a great idea! I could look into that and see if I can find some trays that are are not too wide to fit. The window sills are not exactly deep. It would suck to repaint only for the pots to damage the paint again. ;) Sounds like that could be the reason why it gets sticky. Sounds like it would be difficult to clean too, if not impossible.

I agree with Paddy here, the blue tones you used for your HA looks awesome!

or you could crochet some circular mats for the pots to sit on (although admittedly they aren't quite as easy to clean as a tray :P) ;) I use crocheted / sewn mats for the plants on my bookcase, as those ones are way too big to be safe on a tray :P The size of tray I've got in my window, is is enough to carry three mugs in a single row, but it can be a bit of a guessing game to find out the exact tray size if you're buying online (as they don't expect you to be aiming to put plants on it in a window for some reason! :P)

I just gave up with that gluey bit of the sill and sat the tray on it laughs at least then I don't have to see it ;)

If I use cotton yarn, I can always throw them in the wash if they get dirty, so that might work to protect the paint a bit. :D Sewn mats sounds like a good idea too, thanks! Some of my pots are a little bit larger than the window sill too.. so that makes it more tricky. They are not all the same size.

Out of sight, out of mind. 👼

I used acrylic yarn, and the soil seemed to get stuck to the fibres quite easily o.O but maybe I just make a mess with my houseplants more than you do! :P If the pots overhang the window sill a bit, then I'd go with a square / rectangular mat that's the same size as the sill (from the window to the edge), so it covers any areas where the pot will be touching the sill ;)

hehe I've got an entire cupboard of things like that 😇 - most of which all need sorting or some kind of attention 😊

I always used to roll my ankles, so I know how annoying (and painful!) that can be if it flips in / out unexpectedly :K but hopefully the wrapping will hold it in place so it doesn't misbehave any more, and can heal up! I suppose if he didn't say anything negative about it, that means it's healing up a bit?

[edit] A neighbour is expecting, and I thought I could make a cuddly toy for her kid.... if you were choosing, would you go with this pattern (link) which would still work for when the kid is older, or something more basic (and looks more like a baby toy) like this one (link)? Obviously I'd hand sew the eyes and not use safety eyes! :P

I am pretty good at making messes, so I wouldn't know about that. :P I find it very easy to spill some water, but of course I wipe that off as soon as I can. I think I might go with mats after I get around to paint my window sills. It would annoy me too much to do all this work only for it to not last!

I have sorted through some of my stuff, but I find it so difficult to part with things as I always feel like I might need/want it later. :P

Sounds like he didn't say much about what is happening going forward. o-o I hope wrapping it differently will help it heal faster. :hugs:

A mat should also help stop any of the pots from scratching the paint ;) I did think about using a really long mat that would cover the entire bookcase where my larger plants are, but I thought that individual mats would be easier to work around ;)

That's the most annoying bit - it's guaranteed that if you do get rid of any of those things, you'll need to use them not long after you've got rid of them! :P

um he said if it can't seem to heal he will have to do surgery on it. the kitty, definitely! I have a doll that I was given on my 4th bday that I carried around with me until I was passed 10. After that she went to hotels with me lol.

he said if it can't seem to heal he will have to do surgery on it. So... lol yeah not really sure what's gonna happen yet. How are you?

urgh well I hope it doesn't get to that stage! Any idea how long it should take to heal up (if it wants to co-operate of course), or is it just a 'wait and see' kind of thing?

I've had a quick go at making the bear (mainly because I was bored :P) but I might print the kitty off as well, as that does look cuter than the bear ;) I don't have any fur fabric that'd work for such a young child, but I think maybe it'd work to use minky / cuddle fleece for the cat, as long as I can find a contrast colour for the paws & face ;)

That should work nicely. :D You can probably find some fabric to make something the size you want. :D

That is what I always fear. :P But sometimes I just have to get strict with myself, since I can't keep everything with the limited space I got.

I really hope you won't need another surgery. :squishes: Try to take it as easy as you can. I spent some time today gaming... feeling a bit less like a zombie today since I actually managed to get enough sleep. :P

once I find where I stashed my wadding (I think it's ended up underneath a load of other stuff in the cupboard), I'll probably try making a couple more mats - I've ended up getting a few more houseplants, so those pots are just on a couple of folded tissues at the moment! 😊

How do you manage to decide what can go and what really needs to be kept? ;)

I'd have thought he would've given you a rough idea at least :K

Whoa that was a speedy make to get two bags done that quickly! :D :D Are they ones you'll be selling then? I've printed the cat pattern, so if I can find some suitable minky style fabric (I used a zigzag rainbow patterned one for the bear, so I'm hoping to find something a little more plain for the cat!), then I should be able to get on and make it soon ;) I'm tempted to use safety eyes and just either put a note with it to say it's more suited for the age where the kid won't want to put the toy in its mouth(!) or to just save it until the kid's third birthday :P
