Thankfully my eyelashes aren't that long (either that, or my glasses don't get that close to my face!) :P but these ones do tend to slide down my nose a bit :K I should be getting my eyes tested again (haven't been since 2019 😊) but my original aim was to have the dentist one year, then the optician the next.... but the dentist wants me to go every 6 months at the moment, so that doesn't really work to fit the optician in the way I'd originally planned :P
At least they're willing to keep adjusting them, and they look better than the really chunky thick plastic frames you can get :D

ooh love the witchy look :D sliding down the nose is so annoying, isn't it? LOL I hate especially when doing a craft or reading. no that doesn't fit in does it. You should try maybe for it soon :)
Yes, I'm glad for the adjustments. Right? I can't believe how chunky some people's glasses are and its like why did you buy those?
thanks :D I got the background unexpectedly yesterday, so Niamh insisted on using it ;) :D
nods when I went into a different opticians at one point, I said I needed glasses that didn't slide down my nose.... I've worked out that when I put glasses on, if I raise my eyebrows, the glasses usually drop down my nose a bit, so I kept doing that with each set of frames they suggested :P
Yeah, I think I might aim for next year.... I've got the dentist in February (I think??) so I might aim for late April or May to make sure it's not too close to any more dentist appointments later in the year ;) But I'll also have to work it around when any work gets done here, as that'll be enough on its own, without adding in an optician appointment as well!
Or those glasses that are really oversized and ridiculously large for the size of their face.... I seem to be quite unusual in that I want my glasses to look more in proportion rather than huge o.O

Looks like we all got generous gifts from someone unknown. Wonder who it was. o-o
My hair never seem to snap and not grow longer no matter what. lol Guess I am lucky like that. I don't go the hairdresser too often either way, mostly due to it being so expensive.
One of my friends always buys my old phone when I upgrade. Works out well. lol After a certain time I just start to itch looking at those newer iPhone models. Still happy with the new phone? :) I noticed my phone charged faster with a proper charger, so that was a plus. You don't want something sketchy that might set on fire. :P
Nice! Van Gogh painting is perfect for your room. xD I am working on a christmas cat diamond painting now. lol I also have a christmas dog one I want to complete before it is time to decorate. I am going to have to do spend a lot of time if I want that done in time. Nice to see it was just not me that got such generous gifts from anonymous person.

The last time I had my hair cut before that point was probably 2021 I think laughs
ooo now that is a great idea! :D :D I do want to see if I can mute the shutter sound on the camera (if I'm taking a photo of something in a shop, I don't want it to be too obvious that's what I'm doing!) but other than that, it's working brilliantly :D And yeah, I didn't feel comfortable with an unbranded or dodgy charger, so I'd rather go with the branded one just so I know it should behave itself! I never charge my phone while I'm asleep either :P

i've been kinda busy and slightly distracted. Last week I pulled my violin out for the first time in ages. I suddenly decided I was going to find online how tos and keep going where my instruction had ended many years ago. Anyway, I discovered my bow was wrecked. I thought it was our move that make so many hairs just fall off but apparently it was bow bugs. Yuck. They eat animal protien but hate light. So I've had to move things around in my room to find a new place for the case and my leather bag as i don't get it ruined as well. I wound up calling many violin stores to see what my options are. (more in a mo)
I've been scoring the house for my shoulder rest, music stand and violin books, all totally MIA. We even empted most of the boxes we set aside from our move to deal with later--nada. So we ordered a new stand and violin book, as well as bought a new shoulder rest from a local shop.
I've been practing for about an hour a day and discovered that I'm allergic to some metal on the violin. The first thing I thought of was the strings, but it could also be the chin rest as that has metal fastenings. So I did more calling around to get information.
So I had arrangements with the violin repair shop up in ATL to have them to chemically treat the case for $20. So yesterday I hoovered the entire case to help make sure I got all the debris from the bow bugs and what have you when I discovered that some of the lining was coming up. But I can hot glue this back in place. Then it struck me. Why would I want to spend most of the day in Atlanta waiting for the case to dry, when, instead I could buy a new case? One that doesn't have the lining coming up AND wouldn't have chemicals on it. The chemicals are harmful to cats and that's been worrying us. So I looked up violin cases online and with a case review artical, found a case for $60. So it's only $40 more than the old case. and we wouldn't have to spend the entire day up there with the dog in tow. So we have this all planned for Tuesday now. We'll drive up there, get a new bow, unless in the unlikely event that my old bow is worth more than $70 as a rehair is $75. We're also having some more expensive but higher quality strings put on it so as to lessen the amount of allergens I would be exposed to and having a hypoalergenic chin rest put on it that has no exposed metal clamps on it. We're ordering the new case as well. (no lol this is so not going to be cheap) We planned to go get some British groceries in ATL anyway so doing the trip at the same time is better than two trips at 2 and half hour drive each way without traffic. We'll go to the violin place first and then lunch and British groceries. On the way home we are going to a music shop to buy a couple of books. I'm excited lol
Ooh sounds like you've got the diamond dot bug lol. Glad you're enjoying it :D.
agreed lol though I really wanna know who it was :P
huh, I was sure I replied to this o.0 that's an odd quirk but lol hey if it works right XD. Good luck. Oh I hate super chunky frames that take up the persons entire face. read above
that's a busy day you've got planned! I remember someone learning violin when I was in primary school - I think they had a yellow sponge attached to the violin with elastic bands to work as a makeshift shoulder rest :P Getting a new case is definitely a good plan, as then you don't have any of that worry with the old one needing chemicals in there, or the potential that the bow bugs might still somehow survive that treatment ;)
It only works up to a point - the only nose pads that don't let my glasses slide down my nose, are ones that feel like they stick to my skin.... and of course my skin doesn't approve of that facepalm

yeah and today is also gonna be busy. Getting everything ready today for tomorrow, cleaning the van's middle section out so I and Melody can sit back there. We need to take her with us because mum can't manage her on her own. Plus mum wants me to go to the dollar store for her for some floral things for the wreath she's making and I'm trying to convince dad to go to the music book store in Macon today rather than on the way home tomorrow. I'm not convinced we'll have time. They close at 4. And I needa bake cookies for dad, mum and I.
LMAO I was gonna wash my bed clothes but I realised all I want to do today and thought better of it.
yes, I've seen the sponges, in fact, they sell them still, but no LMAO just no ;) exactly and won't have the bow/bows going back in that case so I can let it sit in the sun and make sure the bugs leave. Plus we bought some balls of pure cedar and I'll plop one in that case. It's a natural bug repellant without any risks to humans or animals.
Yeah i didn't like the snticky pads myself. Oh that's a brillant ha today. What's the ground item?
sits and admires your HA :D
That'll be a nice road trip as far as Melody is concerned ;) I definitely wouldn't add in washing the bed clothes today! I reckon today & tomorrow are busy enough without needing to add that in as well :P
laughs I can't blame you on not wanting to use the sponge :P
Thanks - I couldn't resist using those new scaredy cat face things :D :D It's actually with layered over the top ;)

hope you're okay
ooh i love this new ha :D really awesome trip done and I'm still kinda exhausted but we did everything we needed to. :D and I'll tell you it sounds much pretter with the new strings.
awesome the bgs looks great with all those layers.
thanks :d I couldn't resist using more of those Scaredy Cat things ;) Niamh's pleased as she can wear her glasses with these eyes - the previous ones didn't look right with glasses over them :P
Your HA is perfectly creepy (and I'd expect no less than that!) :D
Yay for getting the trip done, and even better when the strings make a noticeable improvement to the sound :D

its really quite brillant Oh that's great that glass work with them :D
Oh thank you -grins- lol it wouldn't be Halloween if I didn't get at least one creepy ha in :P
right? I don't know if the bow is also a step up or not. It's pretty much on the low end of bows but my old one was a cheep one that came with the violin and had warped so it's probably a smidge better. They did tell me that my violin has some issues to know about moving forward. It is a good beginer's violin but the pegs are sticking and not fitting overly well. He had a problem getting the strings in, which means I would need help the next time it needs strings as well. He also thinks the pegs may become an issue over time. And then he said it would probably be advisable to, at that point, not get the pegs fixed as I probably shouldn't spend that kind of money on a lower quality violin. so I'm now aware that if there is a problem with it, I would probably be better served looking for a intermidate priced one. Hopefully at whenever that is something i will need to do, I can get a decent price for this one (if it's still working) to put into the new one.
Love your book warm HA. Very cute! :D
Any sounds like that when I am using the camera etc would drive me nuts. You could always google it to see how you can turn it off. :) Or look around settings. It is recommended to not charge your phone while you are sleeping, so I try to avoid that as well. With the correct charger, my phone charges fast. :)
Oh, I hope things worked out with the violin and the case, sounds like you enjoy playing it quite a lot. Seems like a difficult instrument to master, but then again I am not musically inclined at all. lol I do luff my diamond paintings tho. xD I have been really fatigued due to the new meds I am on so I have been less than chatty. Sorry about that! I do feel a bit better today tho, even my doc commented that I seemed in better spirits today.

Niamh's not happy with today's look 😇
hehe your Pumpkin's Revenge look definitely lived up to your standard of creepy HAs! :D
That makes sense - you don't want to feel you're going to be putting more money into a violin that isn't worth the extras, and it should be something you can sell pretty easily if you wanted to upgrade at any point ;)
Thanks :D I wasn't sure if I'd overdone the books, but I think maybe books are like socks and you can never have too many 😇 ;)
Yeah, I googled it and apparently they no longer allow the sound to be switched off (to make sure anyone knows their photo is being taken). I've turned the system volume down to the lowest setting (well, one above nothing :P) so at least it's not quite so loud on the shutter sound now! If I really want it to be quiet, I'll just have to put it into Do Not Disturb mode while I'm taking photos.... but I have to remember to take it back off that again afterwards otherwise it won't do any notifications for texts or calls ;)

It is hard to learn but I'm not gonna give up. There's a lot of things you can do to make it easier :) like stickers that have the finger positions :D I'm sorry the new meds wiped you out -hugs- Hope you keep feeling better
-snickers- I can see why, though i think it's brilliant :D why thank you :D lol you know I love them creepy HAs -nods- that's the hopeful plan when and if it gets to upgrading time
thanks :d And I love your evil scarecrow today too ducks behind the sofa just in case
And in the meantime you know this one has a much better tone with the new strings and bow :D :D

why thank you :D lol even i thought the scarecrow was rather creepy :D your witch is really cute :D yep though apparently I am in need of rosin. Mine isn't working. Should've gotten it last week when I was in Atlanta 🤦
and your witch looks perfect :D
Niamh insisted on a pretty witch rather than a stereotypically ugly one :P
Sod's law on that - mine was meant to be the violin, bow & rosin but someone had pinched the rosin so that had to be backordered.... took 10 days for it to arrive in store and be posted out :K Is there anywhere else locally you can get that, or does it have to be Atlanta?

teeheehee well mine is half pretty :P
eww that sucks.
No it doesn't have to be ATL just if I had gotten it then I wouldn't have to worry about it now. THere's only one music store in my city and it's a generic one so I'm not entirely sure if they have good quality rosin. I've gone ahead and ordered it from Amazon. It's said to arrive tomorrow but we'll see :P
certainly yours has pretty hair :P
At least that'll be nice and speedy from Amazon :d I bought my violin from the local guitar shop (literally the only musical instrument shop left in town now), but one of the staff members played the cello so at least he had some knowledge of instruments other than guitars!
