Some Italian restaurant I've never heard of. Brian found it and got reservations.
You just have to push yourself. But not too hard or else you'll do more harm than good O.O'
As someone who also reviews...you might have to read really bad books. If you get to be a professional I don't know how much choice you'll get. As someone who isn't professional, I still wade through bad books just to get a review out.
yes it can but in this case it was not helping at all....
and others I had a busy, emotional and nice day yesterday at work on my last day as a nurse Goodbyes where hard.. But my co-workers surprised me with a box full with gifts and my clients wrote nice things on it! Also got from the boss a big bouqet of flowers. Really nice, and stayed longer then planned as goodbye took there time.
Got it all the gifts and flowers home on my bike... was not easy but i made it. I was home for 15 minutes and had to leave again as i had an appoinment to get my hair done. Once home i ordred pizza to tired to cook.. Was in bed by 9pm as i was so tired.
Ok now, not sinking in i left and start a new job soon. Week off no plans.. yet.. Who know what comes my way.
- oh, swanky, a restaurant that requires reservations! have fun. i never go to those kinds of restaurants because yu have to dress up and pay attention to your manners. too much work for me, lol yeah, i know not to push myself . that's why i haven't but it's going on 8 years now that i haven't written and i'm beginning to think i'm not going to ever again. :( i was being sarcastic about becoming a book critic. :P there's no way i can tear down someone else's work when i have nothing recent to back up my skill set.that actually really isn't the problem , though. i just don't have any ideas for stories. :)
- what a lovely send-off. i bet it was really difficult and emotional to say good-bye. and now, in a week, a whole new job with completely different skill requirements. i think, once you start your new job you will be so busy learning all it requires yu to know and won't think of your old job so much. a week off with no plans sounds like the start of an adventure. :D
Didn't have to dress up but Brian actually put on a polo shirt. Still the same pants he usually wears but that's a big step up in how he usually dresses :)
When I review I don't consider myself going in with the intention of tearing it up. I have a high tolerance so it tends to be the rare work that makes me want to tear it open O.O'
I also never read/watch something when thinking I'm going to really loathe it. I like "so bad it's good" books, movies, and shows :)
it was a lovely send off. I thik you are right as soon as i am at my new job, learning stuff, etc. I will forget about my old one but not just yet for now.
Sunday morning, sun is shining, washing are outside, the boys (cats) are playing and i am writing cards and am here. Lovely! Will be crap weather next week so enjoying it while it lasts.
- so, what did you get? hopefully something exotic and not lasagna. still, he made an effort and that's what matters. did you enjoy yourself? i generally don't start a book with the intention of tearing it apart either. i do have a problem with authors who don't seem to know their own characters or plot. i hate it when the author breaks canon or continuity. i mean, honestly, they don't remember what they wrote 1-2 chapters previously? x.X
- sounds like you're having a nice, relaxing sunday. i hope the weather will stay fair for your week off. i bet there are a lot of lflowers blooming right now. :D
I enjoyed the place. I got something that included angel hair pasta and grilled shrimp. I got leftovers =D
When I write a chapter it can be a few days until I write another. But I have an outline PLUS things can be smoothed over in editing. Had to get rid of a good moment in Kafka's Men Book 1 or 2 as it wouldn't fit Blaine's character arc.
So...yeah...editing can make a huge difference.
oh no the weather is getting colder, already cold now 6 degrees then yesterday and will go down more.
Subeta is a bit laggy and keep getting errors
- leftovers are a good thing. :D i always try to get a meal that will give me leftovers when we go to a restaurant. i love shrimp scampi on angel hair pasta. hubby likes chicken picata. no idea how to cook it so he does it and it's pretty good. :D in regards to writing, how do you handle a plain lack of inspiration? 😔
- our weather isn't very different right now, then. i checked and it's 44f or 7c here right now and partly cloudy. i hope the rain and cold go away for tomorrow as i have a doctor's appointment. i hate going out when it's wet. subeta died yesterday for a few minutes and we kept getting 404, 500, 502, and 504 errors. apparently so many people were attacking the hydrogelous thing that the site just seized up. keith turned off the specialty shops like the millionaire center and cash shops to try to help the lag while he figured out what was wrong. rofl you know it wouldn't be a subeta event if the site didn't crash at least once. 😂 i'm hoping today will be better as not as many people will be on since the weekend's over. :D
Yeah...Subeta has been off.
Shrimp is one of my favorite seafood.
Usually I work on long projects so even on days where the words don't come easy, I at least have an outline. Those days are hard but I push out words no matter what.
Unless I'm sick or one of my infamous migraines kicks in.
I tend to take a lot of mini-breaks so I can get a bunch of stuff done even with my ADD. I listen to music which helps. Used to listen to podcasts.
I haven't been able to load subeta when I tried for the last few days. It's finally working now. It sounds like you had a lovely goodbye at work. It must be good to know you were appreciated! Enjoy your days off.
I didn't think it was ok to be spat on either. They meant it as a joke, but it was really distasteful in my opinion. I do theater myself and as an amateur actress nudity would be too far out of my comfort zone. I'm no professional actor obviously, so it might be very different for them.
How did you get into writing? I always have the feeling I want to write a book someday, but I feel like I'm waiting for a unique concept/storyline to pop up in my mind, if that makes any sense. I wish I could just force myself to start somewhere...
we had cold cloudy wather this moring. Sun is shining now but still cold, unless you are in the sun outside of the wind then it's nice. I haven't found that spot yet.
Goodbye was nice :)
Duckie & Lone Subeta is still laggy and slow for me, still.
- shrimp is my go-to seafood. my favorite is scallops. if i want actual fish then i always get salmon. today i got what they called toowomba salmon: a nice sized salmon filet with a shrimp and mushroom creole sauce on it. it was fabulous. 😀i admire your work ethic. since my illness i just haven't felt any great inspiration and even when i tried to force myself to just put words down it was rambling garbage. i think i'm just going to have to accept that part of my life is behind me now and try to find what i can do now. :D
- i'm all for experimental theater but warn people of what's in store so they can prepare themselves or excuse themselves. a little common sense goes a long way. as for your question to ravenhart, for me i always just sat down and wrote by the seat of my pants. whether it was a game review a school assignment, or just for fun i just opened up word and let it flow. but since my illness i haven't been able to do it. there's a block or the dyspasia hampers me. so, open a word document and just start writing. it doesn't matter what it's about because you can go back and rewrite it as many times as you need to in order to polish it into something you'd like to share. :D
- temps here were about the same as i told you they were yesterday. so i had to go out in my fluffy down coat. of course it was too hot to wear in the car or doctor's office so i had to carry it around but i managed.d. 😂 other than that the day has been pleasant.;;.GOT OUTBACK FOR DINNER , GOT A TON OF GROCERIES INCLUDING JELLY BEANS FOR EASTER, AND GOT SOME OF MY FAVORITE COFFEE - LOCO MOCHA FROM STARBUCKS. NOW, I'M SETTLED IN FOR A EVENING OF SUBETA IF IT ISN'T TOO LAGGY. :d
edit: i realized my caps lock was on after i posted this. it's off now but i have no idea how much of this post was written in caps lock and i'm too lazy to rewrite it. so, sorry about the caps lock. 😂
I started writing before I was ten. So I don't know why I started writing, I just did.
But if you want to start writing then start writing. It might not be the best story, but at least you'll start getting practice. And the more you write the better you'll become.
I wouldn't recommend waiting for some idea and instead write whatever interests you. Then when you do get a great idea, start writing that. Just be aware that to write something long term (like a book) that there will be times you'll want to stop. I have a handful of unfinished/unpublished ideas.
Fanfiction is a good practice area as you don't need to do as much worldbuilding (depending on the fics you do).
Thanks :)
Don't give up!
After my first breakup I couldn't write for a few months but then I started writing again.
Caps lock strikes again! And only the last part of your reply to Emory was in all capitals.
- smh, capslock rofl 😆 it even tells me "caps lock on" when i hit it whether on purpose or by accident. i don't know how i keep missing the prompt. 😂 well, after 7 years of nothing it looks like i've already given up , i'm just slow to the uptake. i think i just need a different perspective now as the old one doesn't work anymore. i just have to find that new perspective. ;) :D
- happy wednesday! i hope you're having a good vacation. on my end the lag seems to be gone for now. then again, one day left to whack hydragellos so the people will probably start laying into it pretty hard. :D
lol i don't mind your caps. It can happen. Week off/vacation so far is quiet... sleeping and relaxing much. Darn sciatica is acting up and i can harldy sit, so standing and walking loads.... But tomorrow (friday) dinner and theater!
Oh no! Snow! Why are we having snow? And it's darn cold to. We went from spring, sunshine and 19 degrees celcius last week to snow, cold and 4 degrees celcius now...
- have you tried the stretches i previously told you about for the sciatica? doingthe stretch in a hot shower is another way to floss the nerve while letting the soothing heat relax the muscles. i hope you have a good time at dinner and the theater. where are you going to eat? what's the theater show about? you have snow and we have 21c and thunderstorms. wish i could send some of the warmth your way but i'm pretty sure the north sea would suck up all the heat. lol :D 😂
did that they helped a bit but when i sit to long it starts to hurt again. But doing better each day. Hope it will be over by monday, as i will start at my new job.
We are going to eat at Uno, it's a kind of tapas restaurant and perfect for my tiny tummy. And theater tickets for a dutch man and he has a show about beauty, fun, taking pics, how to act and just pure fun. Not sure how to explain good.
- i hope it goes away by monday because it would stink to start a new job with lower back and leg pain. :( are you getting excited to start your new job? :) i don't think i've ever been to a tapas restaurant. it's ok, i was wondering if it was a production i'd seen or if it was something new. sounds like it's something new. i hope you enjoy it! 😀
I hope your pain will go away before monday and that you'll have a nice first day at work!
I really enjoy writing if it's something I have to do as an assignment or for work, but it's hard to find something to write about if someone doesn't tell me what to do.
I got a job offer last thursday but I'm really torn on what to do now. The base salary is much higher than my current one, but they don't contribute to my pension and they didn't say anything about an end of year bonus. So considering that my current employer does offer those two things, the money is about the same. The secondary conditions are a lot worse, in terms of paid time off, working from home policies and travel reimbursements. I really want to work there but I simply cannot agree to a contract that's worse than my current conditions. I'm going to have to do some hard negotiations after the weekend and see how far I can drag this out, but I'm afraid we won't come to an agreement.
