Ok... since I'm still around, lol. My ex wasn't raised by a great man, or no man at all. He used to be decent on how he treated me and his mom, but in all the years since our divorce, he's become a straight ass. My ex mother in law is always complaining to my youngest about him, as she's more willing to go and comfort her. It's a beautiful thing but it's also sad that she gets treated that way. She has a severe case of bipolar, 2 I guess ( and I say that lightly b/c the diagnosis has changed a few times over the past almost 20yrs I've known her) so she has problems, but is one of the sweetest and most generous people you would ever meet.

A lot of companies are becoming (or already have been) very flexible with people that want part time positions MOSTLY b/c they don't want to give full time to people b/c 38hrs plus requires them to offer insurance. Lately I've been thinking about a second job too, but I'm worried about my energy level. Then again, fuck it b/c I have a full time job w/ insurance already. That's always been the "secret" about getting a job... knowing they need you more than you need them and having the belief in yourself to portray it. (I mean, it IS true but they are trained in how to interview... others aren't.. usually.)

Sorry, I went and had ice cream and read my book :)

Popping back on to check my farmville (this page opens first, always!) Sorry to hear about your ex being that way. My MiL is the jerk. Hubby doesn't even get along with her anymore and he used to be her favorite. She's always hated me - spent the first 5yrs of our marriage trying to get him to split up and go redate/marry one of his ex-girlfriends. Never really treated my kids (or his brothers kids) as if they were her grandkids - but when her daughter had kids, THOSE boys were treated well (I know tho that the fact they lived with her made a difference also, but still, you could tell a difference). I swear - she's like, matrilineal or something. He isn't even planning on telling her we are getting divorced as far as I know. He has to tell someone sometime tho - because his dad (and stepmom) will want to come over for Christmas or have us come over....be a bit of an explanation there at that point. Then it'll spread to everyone else, I guess.

I just don't want a part time job during the year while I am working my regular job. Like I said, maybe a summertime one or something. But I could NOT imagine going to work after I got off work. Exhausting!!! I know several teachers who DO do that!! And I don't know how they do it! (Or why, tho I guess they feel they need the income obviously - but to me, their regular income would be amazing). I am very grateful to the fact that my job DOES get me benefits for health, dental, vision, and even allows me to do the health spending account thingy (I always forget what its called for real). I also love the fact that it pays into a retirement program (I do wish I could have that income in my paycheck sometimes tho lol) So my years of being a parapro will count towards my retirement as a teacher should I become one - instead of starting off w/ 0 years I'd be starting off with 7 or 10 or however many under my belt. And thats a good thing.

942pm and now headed off to bed, see you tomorrow.

[edit] Monday 7am Child stayed up all night (what did I expect, since I let him sleep til after 2pm being as he grouched at me about it being summer and why can't he stay up all night and sleep all day) Wonder what time he'll crash and nap today sigh I'd rather have let him do this early in the summer but we had so many activities going on, here it is now two weeks til school starts up again and he is messing up his sleep even more than it already was. (Yes because I do know he wasn't going to sleep when he "went to bed" between 10 & 11 and I was waking him up by 10am)

Anyway. Crazy kid has been on a baking spree lately. Dunno why! :P He has made - rainbow colored bread. (He made six loaves of the different colors, cut them up after baking and placed one slice of each color in ziplock bags). THEN he made a pound cake (umm, I tried it, for his first try, not bad, but quite dense). And this morning, he used the last two potatoes to make homemade baked fries, and now is making banana pancakes.

I have finished 4 sections of my psych reading, one more for this chapter, then I'll work on the last chapter (it also has 5 sections). And then whenever stuff opens up I can do the homework and the quizzes and then go finish comp - 2 sections for outlook.

peeks in Hi everyone <3 I've not been on much lately - lots going on. Had a wisdom tooth out, my dad has covid and my grandma had some surgery so there has been a lot to do in between work. I think everyone will be ok though.

The weather in the UK today is hottttt. Nothing like what you lot in the US have to face but we don't have AC and our houses are build to retain heat, so we are all struggling a bit! I'm in my living room with the curtains closed, fan on, iced water and shorts and vest top!

Hope you are all doing ok - sounds like you all have lots going on too.

Well, I am off to go do some errands! hopefully will have some time for subeta soon. Love to you all xxx

Hello Cazzie!! Sorry you guys over there are so hot!! Its awful!! I cannot imagine not having AC in these temps. Sorry to hear about your family, hope everyone continues doing well!

Emails have been going mad lately - you can tell its back to school time. Emails from work, emails from schools, and starting today, emails from the principal about what we're expected to do during preplanning :P And I got an interesting email - invite to a 2hr meeting - its supposed to be a quick talk about the "salary study" (guess maybe thats what the principal was talking about back in March?) and then "individual time with each employee to discuss their updated salary" One more thing to take me away from school, but thats ok. I always get bored because there isn't enough to do (mostly because lead teacher doesnt tell me what she wants me to do - I do what I know needs to be done and then sit around a lot - eh at least I get paid for it, but I don't like it). I am quite interested to know how my salary has been updated!! (even tho the first paycheck with a change won't be til the end of Sept - as thats when all other changes have happened).

Baker Boy apparently made muffins after I went to sleep last night :P When I asked him for ideas for his upcoming birthday, he told me baking supplies. He wants a new whisk, an apron and anything else I can think of related to baking. Alrighty then. But when I asked him if he might be interested in the culinary arts class at school, since he was interested in baking and cooking new things, he shrugged. Ok then.

I completed my reading and quizzes in psych. Have one homework I have to complete, and the test. I decided to wait a little while on the test because for some reason the quiz scores didn't transfer quickly like they normally do, so I want to make sure they transfer (the work is in "cengage" and the grades have to transfer to "blackboard" to be counted for the class). Usually this happens within a minute of me completing the quiz. Don't want a messed up test. Messed up quiz I can live with. One quiz I did bad on again (messed up and clicked the wrong answer - it was a 3 question quiz so got a 66/100) blah. Its ok tho. Homework quizzes don't count much and I'm sure I'll still have an A - as I have a 95 before those quizzes go in. The homework I still have to complete is to "interview 2 older adults - 65 or older - and ask them these 3 questions and write the answers" - then "reflect on the video, the questions/answers given by the interviews and complete the quiz based on it" - I sent an email to my mom, dad, stepmom and stepdad with the questions hahahaha. I only know one older adult in person other than them that I'd be comfortable talking to.

[edit] 335pm Saw some pictures posted by my school system. They run a summertime PreK program - that is supposed to be for students who did NOT get into the regular year program, to help them be ready for Kindergarten. I saw TWO of my students. One I totally agree needed the summer program, even tho he was in our class - he is the one we had soooo many problems with and finally got help for at the END of the year. The other - we did have issues with also, but I was surprised to see him there. Looking at the pictures, I am glad he did, tho I feel he may not have needed it as much as the other child. The fact that those classes had small enough enrollment to allow him in is great, because I think it will have helped him too. It just makes me wonder how on earth, who pulled the strings, to get TWO children who had already been in PreK into a program designed for those who did not?

[edit] Good Wednesday Morning! Got a pushmower (hubby brought over his electric/battery powered one - since he didn't want to play with the gas one here). So today I'm going to either make Nathan or go mow the edges/weird spots in the yard that can't be done with the riding mower. FUN. :P [edit] 908pm Got stung by a wasp while mowing this morning. Ouch :( Still have a small swollen area and a big red mark on my leg. Hopefully will be all better tomorrow. Was going to move stuff off the porch and into the back house (storage) but there are wasps all over the doorway there...so nope. No more wasps today. Cannot find my rakes and need to do SOMETHING to get all the grass thats growing in the patio stones out. ugh. Looks awful and is overgrown now. (cant run the lawnmower on the patio stones!!!)

Finished 1 section of the computer work for outlook. Will do the other section tomorrow. Got answers from my dad, waiting on at least one other parent to email me answers so I can complete the psych stuffs. Got my grade upgraded (the teacher is changing a grade based off the work ethics) - so my 85 on one quiz got changed to a 100. Still have a 95 in the class due to that (it had dropped to a 94 lol due to the 66 on the homework before she changed the quiz grade). Ready to be done with the work already. :P

Omg it's only July and you're already talking about school! lol

HATE getting stung (who doesn't, right?)! Last time I got stung was b/c I mowed over a hornet's nest. Thankfully only one got me but the others were swarming and I just ran to the side door while throwing off my clothes. 😂

Wow! You have a kid that bakes?!! lol

Hi Caz! Really sucks to see all the shit going on right now, especially w/ the heat. Wishing the best for you and yours.

I've been talking about school all summer hahahah (college). But yea. I go back to work Monday - July 25th. Kids start Aug 3rd.

Me and my kids have always baked. Less so the past few years just because any time I made stuff it didn't all get eaten. (Hate throwing stuff away, but when it sat for weeks and no one has touched it, well now its stale, so bye-bye). Every now & then one of us gets the urge. I make muffins all the time for breakfast (I do use the mixes, where you just add milk and then mix and bake!) He cooks too - when he wants to. He made curry - with stir fry veg and beef strips and rice the other day. (Grills, cooks inside, whatever he feels like). Again, depends on our moods, who feels like doing what. Lately I've been cooking inside, and we've not used the grill all month. If he gets the urge he can grill again. I'm fine with cooking stuff inside. I'm trying to think of some other crockpot recipes we would like. I taught all my kids how to make tacos, spaghetti, and other simple things (noodles of any type really), a loooong time ago. Same with making cookies/cakes lol Have had them help with other types of meals as well, so like, they can do pot roast in the crockpot or fry pork chops or grill them, or whatever.

Finished with my computer class work. There are two grades the teacher has to add - "attendance" and "work ethics" - I did do the work ethics assignment, I guess he is grading us on something else and not just the quiz? Like, did we actually turn in all our work and everything I guess :P Still waiting on my parents to email me back answers to the questions for psych work. Hope they will today because I want to finish that. It's the last thing I have to do for psych (since I should be exempted from the exam - waiting on that email from teacher).

Yeah, that's true, you have. Gawd I can't believe how early the school starts these days. I don't know when they will around here but I don't think it would be that early. It's usually mid to late August.

My kids were never interested in learning how to fix anything as teens. I just made the meals and they would check the fridge for whatever, lol. When they wanted cookies or muffins or baked things, I would just buy them at the store. :P

As far as I can remember for my kids, the latest we started was mid-Aug (probably like the 18th-ish?) Never any later than that. That year we didn't have a full week for Thanksgiving, and I don't think we had October break either?I I like having the extra breaks that I know some school zones don't have but I would not like to have to go in June. We are always out by Memorial Day (for kids) and teachers usually only got a few days after that. We have almost always started early Aug. Nathan has had to start school on his birthday at least 4x and open house has been on his birthday 2x. (His birthday is, yep. Aug 3rd - he starts school ON his birthday this year). I am going to take him by Dairy Queen for blizzards afterschool that day. Dunno what else we are doing for his birthday tho.

I buy a lot of store snacks now, bakery and cookie/snack aisle. Sometimes I will still make cookies, but often I just get the ready to bake dough so I can just make 2-4 cookies and not 2 dozen ;)

[edit] 651pm Done with my psych assignment. So done with schoolwork, unless I do not get an email exempting me from the final exam for Psych, which isn't even available to take until the 25th. I'm sure I'll get an email before then ;) Current grades, 99 in Comp and 95.3 in Psych [edit] Friday 1020am Woot! Checked my email just now, got the exempt email. Checked my grades, got a 100 on the interview assignment. Got a 95.7 now. She also said the extra credit would be added in manually after the final exam time was over - I looked at what was said earlier, so I should get 3 or 4 points added to my grade, giving me like at least a 98 hehehe :D

Hey, nice job on the grades! That's cool that you're exempt from the exam. Think my head would hurt if I was always thinking about school for work, then school for myself, never really having any break in between.
Don't think I'd be too happy about starting ON my birthday, either. lol

TGIF!! Man it's been a loooong week. I did happen to notice a "help wanted" sign up at the tanning bed.... :P Going to apply for the part time work since it's a much more relaxed environment, is 2 miles away from me and I've worked at a tanning salon before (like 16yrs ago, lol). Free tanning is always nice, too.

Are they still going to make kids wear the face diapers at school?

We only wore them part of the time last year. I have not heard that we are going to be required to wear them this year at all, so my answer is no (not that I'm aware of) we don't have to wear them. Thank goodness. Its useless with 4yr olds anyway. They'll probably let them be optional obviously, I mean if a parent wants their kid to wear them they can. But not required. I for one, will NOT make a kid keep one on if the kid keeps taking it off, regardless of what parent says simply because I have too much other crap to deal with other than that. (I mean, I will remind the kid a few times, but I'm not going to be all over it or anything, you know?). Parent says something about it, I'd tell them that. "I have reminded your child, he still continues to remove the mask" :P Oh well! :P

Thanks and - Welllll yea it is a LOT of school. Thankfully its different enough dealing with class for me (an adult) and class for them (kids). Of course, I get class for Nathan tossed in the mix too - not that I have to do his work or anything, but just trying to make sure he DOES the work and isn't failing classes again. That's mostly on him, but I keep an eye on it and try to talk to him about it.

Oooh part time job? I just really would not have the energy for that I don't think. At least it is something you know and are comfortable with and is nearby!! Good luck with applying!! It might be good for you too - because less time "alone" at home.... interacting with some people at that type of job I bet.

Trying to decide what to do for lunch. Completely forgot to buy anything for lunches when I shopped earlier this morning. - Well I do have like, pasta I can make but thats it. I don't feel like cooking right now.

Yep, I was thinking that it would be good to be out and more social (while making money), too. Mostly I need it to get caught up on my credit cards and maybe even pay down my car enough to lower my monthly payments.
Been a loooong time since I filled out an application! Fifteen years....

Ok, I'm going to head out and drop the app off and pick up some stuff to drink later. :D

Ugh. Just got an email for my professional learning days. I'm supposed to be in a PL class for PreK at the same time I'm supposed to be at the Salary Study information meeting. GRRRRR. Guess I'll have to find out which one I should attend now. (Honestly I feel I could skip the PreK one just because it almost never pertains to para's but at the same time, that is the thing I am "supposed" to attend, PL on PL days!!!)

Fixed a grilled cheese sandwich, got a fruit cup (pears - I always forget I don't like the peaches and pears very much and buy a variety pack to have a variety...ugh I'll still eat them tho). See ya later!

Gurrrrl... stop eating all that sugar! ;) I just saw this amazing recipe on youtube for cabbage and it looks SO good! Can't wait to try it. The title said "better than meat" so I was curious, lol. No, nothing is better than meat. Damn, I wish I would've planted some beets this year but the last time I did, they were really small.

My veggie garden was a bust. Either the bunnies or bugs ate up the red lettuce, no spinach showed up, no sugar snap peas although I did get yellow beans, the squash is doing really well and I replant the green onions I get from the store and they've been getting twice as big as when I bought them! Tomatoes are doing good so at least there's that. :P No peppers ever showed up, either. Never had so many seeds that didn't grow... or like I said, maybe they did and the little rodents got to them first. I didn't have the extra money for the fencing supplies. :(

What do those meetings consist of?

The PL meetings? Used to be in person training. People talking to us about different ways of teaching or new ideas and we'd get a chance to practice some of the activities and ask questions. Now days is virtual meetings, still same stuff basically tho. Varies year to year what they present to us. One year they discussed how to tell our parents how to go online to sign up for free/reduced lunches. Another time was a preview of a really cool learning system that no one could afford to buy for their classrooms LOL - lets see, also using music for transitions or other activities for learning, how to teach specific things thru playing (like, social emotional skills during center time in the housekeeping center-how to get along and take turns cooking for each other or whatnot) How to incorporate science into lessons and use the items in the science center....etc. Things like that. This entire last years' worth of PL has been about PBIS (positive behavior intervention something or another) The PL on friday is a refresher course on that. The salary study meeting, I don't know other than they want to "update" us on our new salary.

Ugh for the veggie garden being bust. At least you did get a few things. I do not like cabbage. Or squash or peppers (well, i will eat a tiny bit of green peppers sometimes, like on pizza or once in a blue moon when Nathan wants a pepper and we slice it up). Yellow beans? Don't know those. I love sugar snap peas. Thats what I planted and grew a whole bunch, but they never got ripe. The first time I grew them they were great, the next time they got really big but never got ripe and tasted bad every time I tried one to see if it was ripe. I did get lettuce to grow one year, that was pretty cool, we were big into salads that year, so we had planted lettuce, radish, carrots, cucumbers, the peas, and some other random things. Only good thing that year was the radish, and they were spicy (I don't eat them either, but hubby said so).

I am very bad about eating sugar :P I love me some cookies, candies, chocolate....

Ooo I love me some radishes. Good idea about planting them but I burn out on them really quick. They're pretty cheap to pick up at the store so I'll get a bag and be done for the season, lol. (I eat them w/ a bit of ranch. Chop up enough stuff for my salads so I don't feel like chopping up those for the salad.) Yellow beans are milder in flavor than green and I happened to be introduced to them many many, MANY moons ago and I love them. Not much of a green bean fan so these are excellent to compensate.

The PL class sounds interesting... but maybe some of those classes would really benefit...uhmm PARENTS! :P

Hah. Yea. Teachers are more like parents every year I swear. Especially in the younger grades. There are a LOT of things we teach that you would think parents would have already taught. Sometimes tho, the parents have taught it, but just not in a large group setting. So it has to be retaught there. (like, kids know how to share with a friend, or their sibling, but not with 6 or more OTHER kids their age).

[edit] Good Morning! I have been busy. So today already I have cleaned the litterbox, vacuumed the floor, washed the dog bed and shampooed the carpet, fed and watered the dogs and cats, and am now feeding myself. Have also attended to my farmville, trained my pets, collected their income, and done chase and shinwa :P

Oh and the thing I liked about planting the radishes, one seed = 1 radish. So if you don't want a whole bunch, just plant a few at a time, and then they'll be ripe a few at a time. I liked that about them because I would plant 2-3 every other day, and then we had them all season. They don't take too long to grow either if I remember right. He only ever used 1 or 2 at a time sliced up in his salad. [edit] 155pm Here we were just talking about gardening radishes .... Neugarten starts and .... [item2=Rabish Radish Starter Kit]

runs off to buy beanbags, plushies, foods and books :P And a couple of cute wearables!! I love the chalk balloons, and I think I'll get the mushrooms too.

If you join the # wearable ping group, puts together a list of everything new and is separated into categories, so I was able to see what was food and what wasn't.

Lots to spend sP on so I'll have to get on my quests. :P I like to have extras too to throw in a shop.

Sorry ladies, I went and bought the background but I'll check back in after the 12hrs and see if you 2 still need those items. <3

Ahhh I just bought too fast instead of looking to see what was what. Happens sometimes. So many wearables are also edibles (especially if they have food related names).

My weekend is ok so far. I did have the dog put down. So thats done. :(

I have a board meeting for the youth group today. I checked in with my girls, but none of them could come have a meeting today so I don't have to be there til 4pm. Going to take 5 dresses out of my closet and put them at the lodge with the other dresses for other girls to wear as my girl won't be wearing them ever again. She has 1 more I'll have to get from her later to put in there too. She still has 4 "grand officer" dresses she can wear if/when she needs a formal, plus her "prom" dress that she never got to wear to prom but has worn to every dance she's been to since lol

Going to ask permission of the board to arrange a fun day at the local water park (its little - it has a splash pad, a small pool, and 2 water slides) for at least our girls, if not a whole big group thing (meaning families and majority girls not just girls/pledges - and maybe allow the girls to invite a friend each or something).
