I’ve just returned to work (still working at home for now) after 10 days off. Today wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. No more until beer fest in August. For those who don’t know my town holds one of the biggest beer festivals in the uk. It’s not been on for the last two years due to Covid. Usually 44,000 pints are sold. They now have a gin bar together with a bottle and cider bar. It’s on from Tuesday to the Saturday with live music in the evenings. We always go everyday. My poor liver must hate me lol Cazzie Rich would love it.

I wouldn’t raise a ticket either. If someone sent it in error they would have messaged you.

There is an outdoor run/cage thing that we put them in when they go out. Out there wanting in is the only time that dog barks. And he barks in like 10min or less. Sometimes after he has peed, I ignore him. 😝

School for kids is out for the summer in the US. Except college summer semester or if kids have summer school.

That sounds like such a fun event, Luce. Not too many fun things around my local area like that but I don't live near a major city that has those kinds of events. You should get some electrolyte tabs to take w/ ya.

Hmm.. Kat. I'd just leave the furry shit outside for as long as possible. Constantly shampooing can't be good for the carpet, and neither is animal urine/feces. That would honestly set me on my last nerve for the day.

Think I'm about to go spend some more time in the sun and the kiddie pool in about 15 or so minutes. It's one of those beautiful, low humidity days and I'm not wasting it.

Thank God he doesn't poop inside. Just pee. But yea. It's getting so annoying. I love him, I do. But I cannot handle much more peeing inside and not asking to go out. Or being outside then peeing when you come in!!!! Omg a pool sounds so good right now. I'm hot!! Drinking cold water. Keep thinking I should bring my foot massager up here and pour some water in just to stick my feet in it lol

And well....the carpet is freaking almost 20 yrs old and needs to be replaced anyway but I can't afford to right now but one day I will do it. After he has passed perhaps so I don't have to freaking shampoo a new carpet all the time 😝

I mean for real, your 20yr old carpet is probably better than MOST carpets that are put into houses/apartments/condos these days, unless you pay thousands of dollars for really GOOD carpet. I don't even get an area rug b/c they're outrageous, for the square footage you get. Even at Wally world.

Do you have a mister bottle? You can try spraying it on you throughout the day (easier if you wear black) but I imagine the humidity won't help. I wouldn't volunteer for that to save my life, lol. It wasn't even hot today and I was dripping boob sweat. 😂

I have seen some good ones at Ollie's for not too expensive but then there would be no padding under it. I've thought about an area rug also but the floor is a concrete slab. Not sure how nice that would look if I removed the carpet and did an area rug.

No mister bottle. Humidity was awful this morning. Then it poured rain and cooled off. We had no customers for over 3hrs because it rained that long.

[edit] 750am So yesterday I was calling to make Nathan an appointment with an orthopedic doctor since the cut went to the bone and fractured it slightly. So I called the one the hospital recommended on the paper since its local (literally just down the street from the hospital) - my daughter used to go there in highschool. Anyway, so I called them, one question they asked was "when was he at the hospital again?" Sunday. "oh well our doctor wasn't on call Sunday, you should not have been referred to us, you need to call THIS doctor, they are the doctor that was on call that day" UUUMMMM WHAT???? You are refusing a patient because your doctor wasn't on call the day of his emergency??? They gave me a number for said doctor that was on call - but when I called that number it was a FUNERAL HOME???? So I called another local doctor my daughter has also been to, but THEY no longer take his insurance. Anyway. So I got him an appointment at the one he went to when he broke his arm (its in stockbridge, a 30min drive instead of a 10min to the more local one). - but its FRIDAY at 130 (more than the 3 day window the hospital recommended he be seen in but eh what can I do?) Friday of course, is usually a super busy day for the stand - so I spent the rest of the day scrambling to find someone competent to come in and help. (sorry, but not sorry, but there are only a few people I trust to take MY place - I am the one who runs the sales equipment - no one else really wants to or has the knowledge, because they don't BOTHER to learn it). The guy I had covering for the evening couldn't come in earlier (HE knows what he's doing). But so long as they have some help it will be ok. Some of them that will be there can work it but don't want to and thus are very slow/unsure about it. (Another reason I end up doing it, I am confident about it, know what I'm doing and can do it quickly - which helps when we are BUSY!)

What a mess, Kat! But at least he'll be seen. :(

Yes, VBS was only one week.. but it was a doozy :P The Pastor texted everyone and said she tested positive Tuesday night. So we switched things around. Brien, who was in charge of music, went to do storytime, and Lily, who was helping with music, was put in charge. (There was an adult with their fingerprints, child abuse clearances, and safe sanctuary training in the room too, running the videos and music).

Saturday was Ds graduation party.

Yesterday, we all got another group text that my pre-k partner tested positive. I had a scratchy throat for a few days, but I tested negative. I'll test again tomorrow, but I feel fine now. Been wearing a mask though, just in case!

ANYWAY. Sewing is DONE with. Today was fashion revue.. and while Lily and K didn't place, Iz tied for first place with her friend Lily! So that was VERY exciting.

Thursday is Isabelles birthday, so we're going to go do storytime at the library, but afterwards we're going to the apple orchard to celebrate again. They just enjoy playing around there.

thanks lovelies ^_^ I've been to the docs today and have a chest infection. Got some steroids to take, which I had with dinner but I'm now super awake and having hot flushes (which I think are side effects) Googled it and should have taken them in the morning but I just wanted to get started on my dose!

Rich would love that festival, although he is still nervous in big crowds, due to his meds, so probably wouldn't go yet!

oh, the humidity must be tough! WE have nothing like it over here, though we do struggle when it's humid. I was once in texas in August - that was something else.

Getting my car windows tinted today. Woo! Excited. :P Also got a new weed trimmer yesterday so I'm mildly excited about trying it out. It's a lot heavier than what I'm used to so I know it's gonna give me a slight ache in the underused muscles.

Went through my main pet's unread books and picked up a bunch that were on the very low end. Been meaning to do that for awhile. Lots of reading the other day. Now I still gotta make all the alchemy books that I never do b/c I hate putting on a zombie skin.

We had such a LOVELY time at the fireworks stand tonight eyeroll Customer came up, wanted the big box, ($900) So we tried to run his payment, it wouldn't do anything. Long story short - after trying 2 or 3 different payment options (apple pay, QR code, and tried to get the guy to buy it online, but he claimed he couldn't find our location) AND even attempting to call the square people to see if there was a way to make the payment work - this guy finally blew up that we would not sell to him, that we were refusing to process his payment, that we were racist because he was a black man - started videoing our location claiming he's putting us on youtube for being racist and not selling to him etc etc Our guy who was there with us started videoing him back and had his son (he texted him, since he wasn't there with us, but he is our tech person we'd tried to get him to help us figure out how to process the payment too!) call the police non-emergency line to have police come out. Guy left before cops showed up of course. Police talked to us, watched the video, said they'd keep an extra eye on the container at night for the next few nights especially, and that if that person's car even just drove up near us to call them again right away. I'm thinking he was trying to use a fake card or something, and that now that he's pissy he may come try to steal or vandalize the stand :( Never had such an issue before, even tho we've had drunk/high and disorderly customers - never such like that We do have camera's installed INSIDE the container this year - for just in case. Got the guy on video on that too. And if he does break INTO the container, that will be on video. Also the walmart parking lot has cameras, tho I don't know how well the coverage is, I know we can see the cameras tho, so hopefully should he do anything, it would also be recorded on walmart's cameras outside.

(last year our "worst" customer was a guy who almost punched someone else because "HE" was first in line - had been waiting for us to open and someone else stepped up in front of him - and we didn't have ANYTHING either of them wanted to buy anyway!!)

Yea we are all fine. No one was hurt. He didn't do anything except video and yell. Our other set of customers were all like "What is going on?" Because it wasn't even that loud of an altercation, but he was videoing and yelling at the end. We just explained that we'd tried to run his payment and it wouldn't do it and he was upset.

We already got a fraud alert on the one and only online order we got :( The customer had already picked up the item before we got alerted it was fraud.

Oh no Kat. Sounds like this year is shaping up to be a doozy, already :(

Morning guys! It's Isabelles 9th birthday today! So we're going to run our storytime, then we're headed to the orchard... even though it's going to be ike, 86 and sunny and humid. It'll be fine. :P And even though hers and Bens birthday party is.. THERE.. on Sunday. :P

Luckily at that point, Mitch was working with him. I'd gone to help Miss Ann with the other customers. Tho yea, it was a little freaky. Mitch runs a pawn shop - and used to run some other shop - I have no idea but I assume he is a little accustomed to irate customers - he didn't seem fazed at all LOL
