Ooh, lucky Nathan!

I picked up crab legs for dinner.. and a leg of lamb.. because I was hungry and was thinking about splurging, but then I couldn't choose because I didn't eat before I went so. Yeah. :P So they just get food for a valentine! :P

Food for valentines is gooooood. I usually get chocolate :P And used to get roses. I made a statement that this year I guess I had to get my own roses, and got a "right" - so yep. Didn't get any last year either. (Another sign it's all done with, I guess....) (Another reason why I was so touched when I got the valentine/necklace from my dad)

I had some kids from last year stop by and ask what my favorite candy is .... awwwwww. These same kids (and their brother) stop in and say good morning and get a hug every morning. I love them so! (I had both sisters, last year and year before, brother is 1 yr older and he started Kindergarten the year we had first sister, met him in car rider). THey are all three soooo sweet, and one of the boy's classmate/friend follows them in and hugs us too lol we have no clue what that kid's name is, but we hug him and tell him to have a great day tooo!

I've gotten.. um.. nothing. Since we were in high school. And even then, he ended up eating the chocolate, because it was peanut butter (but he picked it out because it was a frog so.. awww :P)

And awww, that's so sweet Kat! Young kids are so adorable.

Elly got her girlfriend a pair of socks while we were out, and Lily got popcorn for Levi.. and the rest of her group of friends :P

And then they're all exchanging elementary school style valentines in geeks guild and they are SO EXCITED about it, it's so cute.

Well I said that, and then he went to walmart and came home with roses. eyeroll SO I asked, I thought you weren't getting me any? And he said "its from Nathan, even tho he didn't ask" So. There's that.

Aww that makes me sad for you. I've always loved giving/getting gifts. So even a small holiday like this is nice to celebrate. I don't use it as a sweetheart/romance, but as a love. But at least the girls are having fun!!! Kids are adorable, and sweet!

That's really sweet! Even if they were from Nathan :eyeroll: either way, it's sweet.

And I ALSO love giving and getting gifts.. even though I basically just give them :P

It's just one of the things that frustrates me. I know it means he still cares. Obviously not in the way that matters for marriage anymore. Its hard to separate it tho, sometimes.

Hahah me too. I give more than I get I feel. But its nice anyway. I picked up some little valentined colored toys (like prize box trinket toys) to give to my school kids yesterday. There were literally NO cards left in the store :o Or treat packages - you know, the ones that are candy - like suckers or gummies. NONE!! :o

Yeah, I bought theirs a few weeks ago and they were already running low!

Well, you have been married a long time. Even if the relationship is different, it'll still BE a relationship. I think it'd be worse if there was just.. NO feelings there at all, anymore? I think?

Yea. I agree. It's just.... well he's been saying a LOT lately he is doing something to "be nice" .... I mean, thats good, i don't want him to NOT be nice. But like, I don't want him to feel obligated to do something either. We do both still care for each other, just not in the same way anymore. Neither of us wants the other to be UNhappy, but we aren't happy together anymore. So we are trying to sort things out in a - well - nice way :P Like, we were talking the other night about custody, taxes, child support, who pays what bills, how do we sort that out, what do we each want, what will Nathan want... and a lot of it still depends on WHAT he chooses to do for his job - stay as it is, or go over the road? I think at this point he is going to choose going over the road again, and stay at a hotel when he comes back by to visit Nathan (and me he says). But he has switched thought tracks several times now and THAT is frustrating me too. Until he decides that, nothing else can really move forward.

Yes! I like knowing what I am doing, where I am going. I am a very organized person (tho messy sometimes I'll admit) so limbo is SUPER annoying.

On to other things : I have read my history chapter, tried my best to figure out what exactly I was supposed to look at to use option 1 of the discussion topics, gave it up, and went with option 2, which was to pick my OWN topic on Thomas Jefferson. So I chose to write about the Louisiana Purchase. Done. Not posted yet tho. :P I mean, the week only JUST started hahahaha. But thats me. Done early. Will re-read the chapter and do the quizzes tomorrow (if they are available!) I guess. And start my listening assignment in music after that.

Also hubby is going on a mini-over the road - so he will leave early tomorrow and be home sometime on Wednesday (probably in the morning). So I guess that'll be nice and different too. So me and Nathan each picked a supper to plan for those 2 nights. Chili was his choice, and Tostadas/Burritos was mine haha - glad I have Beano. Hubby does not eat chili at all and only likes taco "salad" (broken up shells, covered in meat and lettuce for him) when we have tacos.

Wonder when Survival will start..... Maybe tomorrow? Hopefully sometime this week at least. [edit] Welp, the news says not tomorrow . Meh.

That sounds nice, you and Nathan taking turns! Mostly Alex cooks, but Elly generally cooks one night a week, and I try to, too. But obviously Alex is the much better cook so.. there's really no comparison.

I also.. like.. I NEED a plan. I need to be able to plan and see what is happening and I get super anxious if I can't.. even though I'm also likely to just.. toss that plan and start over. But if I don't know what's going on.. I'm a mess.

Oh well I'll probably cook both nights, but he chose the meal :P I did teach him how to cook things like tacos, chili, spaghetti, etc (and dad has TRIED to teach him how to grill, and he'd probably do fine with it). But hubby usually cooks because he likes to grill, and doesn't like "things cooked in their own fat" (such as meatloaf, baked chicken, etc). So I'm like, sure whatever, you cook how you want and I'll eat it. But when he isn't home, other stuff for dinner!

And don't you dare push survival into april!! :o :P Cause then we'd have to push back masquerade too!! and then Vesnali....nope nope nope

We're STILL eating stuf fout of the freezer.. except for a few nights this week, because of the.. overboard of valentines food :P

We had flounder from the freezer tonight, we'll have steaks tomorrow, crab legs Wednesday, something from the freezer for everyone Thursday and Friday.. Isabelle wants ham, so hopefully we have some, I think we do? and Saturday we'll have leg of lamb.

I'd really like to get everything into the one freezer by Thursday when it's warm out, so that we can hopefully get some meat at the grocery store this weekend. When I was out last week, there was literally one pack of chicken.. and they were legs! We basically only eat boneless skinless breasts so.. that'd be rough :P But we really did need to defrost at least one of the freezers so.. hopefully this is finally the week. We haven't actually been shopping in like a month?!

Nice! I like when the freezer is stocked up. Not with leftovers tho, but with meat available to be cooked ;) Im ok with leftovers like chili or stew, but I don't much like things like leftover steak or porkchop. I also do not like other bits of chicken very much, just the breasts, and yes, boneless skinless is best, but I'll eat any type of breast depending on what we can find. I like the spiral sliced hams that come out at thanksgiving the best, the bigger ones. Whenever I try to get a smaller one, or a half or whatever, it just tastes different. My chest freezer has been empty since, well, since last March when we got the new appliances, excepting for the few times my oldest, Shane, has been home, and he brings what he has in his truck to the house and drops it in the freezer to keep it good.

Yay for achievements. I've sorted a few, but its not really very interesting. Thankfully its not very hard either LOL

I ALSO like it when the freezer is stocked up. And the cupboards.. and everything else. :P I have some issues, I think haha.

And yeah no, I only like boneless chicken. And wings, I guess. But they don't even really count :P

And I ALSO love spiral sliced hams! My MiL is constantly buying.. not those.. for Christmas, and my one SiL and I are so disappointed. I've even offered to buy and make them, but nopeeeeee.

I do get the small spiral sliced ones from Sams though, and they're pretty good!

I am so sorry, ladies. Dropped off for longer than I thought. I mostly feel cold, tired and antisocial these days. Ironically, my younger bro has been living on my couch for the last month so I haven't been extremely antisocial. (Dude has our dad's house so he's not homeless... just broke and not working and too many issues - not mental - to talk about right now.)

I'm especially sorry to you, for dropping off after you were venting about things. I feel really bad for that and even though we haven't known each other long, or really know each other, I would like to be included in one of the people that is there for you.

Thank you for thinking about me ! I love that you find suggestions to get me started in what I want to do. I need to really concentrate on getting into shape and the only excuses I have are the cold and my PF acting up which in turn make me less active and in turn, makes my heart worse. (Tachycardia .. I lose my breath at the littlest activity.)

Anyway... I was lazy and haven't read back posts except where Mieke pinged me. Sorry. :( Trying to get a handle on things at home, which involves confronting my brother who will straight yell at me for "getting into his business"............ Well mofo, you ARE living off of me!!

Omg YES ! Can't say I've ever really had a strong family and my mom did some fucked up things that I forgave most of my life until she went overboard, and then I knew it was best to nix her out of my life, (which actually led to things I had repressed, but that's another story) and the closest family members I had were my dad who passed a few years ago as of last month and my 2 brothers. Oldest goes for periods of time where he's lost in his own world, so does the younger one that is residing on my couch.

I have very few friends in life... not b/c of any specific reasons but some of the greatest friends I've had have either moved away, changed or, idk changed. Work friends are different b/c you're either with the "kiss ass" crowd or you're with the peons. The peons were the best crowd, especially in the support center of the work place I still reside with. The peons I met throughout my years of factory work were even better, actually. Either way... in corp work, you're either with everyone or you're that person(s).

SO, my brothers and my dad were everything and have been for some time. My dad passing was one of the worst life events I ever thought I'd experience, and I've had some pretty damn shitty times. I'll admit, we all have different dads and I don't even know who my bio dad is, but MY 'dad' adopted me and cared for me as his own and that's what matters. (I only bring it up to point out that there are differences in all 3 of us siblings.)

if it helps at all, my mom was married 3 times (not to my dad, though! :P), including one guy from China who she married so he could get his greencard?

My brother is actually my half brother, but I'm all the family he's got left. And sometimes, that's just.. a lot to bear.

And when my mom died last Christmas (well, I guess it was two ago now, because this Christmas is last Christmas), there was SO much there like.. so many unresolved things. It's rough.

Anyway. Family. And maybe just.. males in general.

Hey if I can vent, you sure can !!! Of course you are my friend. One of my special online friends. To be honest, that's about the only kind I have. Since you know, work friends aren't really friends...lol All my hmmm 🤔 in person friends have pretty much gone thier own way, away from me. So, ok. If I didn't feel comfortable with you all I wouldn't have shared with you all!!!

And heck yeah, if he is staying at your house and you're paying his groceries or to feed him or anything you have the right to be in his business!!

[edit] Home for a brief minute. LONG day. So school was absolutely nuts, ridiculous, crazy, irritating, whatever you wanna say, that was today. Then after I had to go to the grocery store for meat and lettuce for tacos, and Nathan and I decided what he wanted to buy his dad for his birthday, so then we went to walmart after. Now he is loading the trash into the car and we are off to the trash dump. Then home to cook dinner. YAY? And do more school work of course. I'll probably post my history discussion topic, and then maybe redo my music. I got an 84 on my first try this time, which is good, but I'd like to get it in the 90s.
