It's great to be able to re-do tests and such! And I'm glad you finally got the history quizzes right!

The entire world is a sheet of ice.. enoiugh that Alex actually called off work today. His truck is frozen to the ground, there's a little less than an inch of ice there. The birds are mad because the bushes.. and their bird feeder.. are all frozen.

The cat food bowls are frozen to the ground. It's crazy!

And the girls are mad that we said they can't go to their lock-in tonight unless it hits 50 degrees in the next hour or two. Which, I mean.. not very likely to happen, considering the high is like 25 or something.

Yea. Its driving me crazy having to wait for the history quizzes to come out. I guess I'll just WAIT and try not to even look for them until Thursdays. This next module says 1 quiz and 1 exam....the quizzes have only had 4 questions each....wonder what the "exam" will be like.

Oh no, you are all frozen! BRRR. Umm yea, kind of hard to go to work or to a lock in if you are frozen in at your OWN house. Poor girls tho. Its fun to go to events. :( And poor you, its fun to NOT have girls at home hahahah :P

Since the school was cancelled, all events at the church were cancelled anyway so.. at least it wasn't my fault!

Everything is horrible though so, we definitely wouldn't be going anywhere. And no internet half the day, which was kind of nice.. Lily was grounded from all her devices anyway for not turning in assignments (or not on time?) so.. we'll see,

Elly and Lily are going to have a lockin in Ellys room tonight though, so.. a win/win? Then they'll get to have theirs in April sometime.

If no one needs anything from the TS and sees the kissing bears plushies, I'll pay over tokens for them! Not sure if the internet will go back out again :/

Ahhh there they go, lock-in at home, why not! It'll be fun if they make it fun!!

Got my history responses turned in. Scheduled my music concert (have to attend one and write a report about it) - still sad I couldn't use the Harry Potter movie in concert. Oh well. Tickets were really too expensive anyway ($70 per person!) I am attending a free college choral concert in April.

Aww I grabbed the book before I saw your post. I always get books, but I didn't HAVE to. Hope someone else can grab for you.

You've earned the Gourmand achievement! Kayano has eaten 7077 different foods! I'm pretty sure thats the last Gourmand achievement. But I'll keep feeding Kayano since... Kayano has 3256 different foods left to go!

I always get the books too, if I don't have anything else on my wishlist.

That WOULD have been really cool.. but that's crazy expensive! I've found that the college concerts are normally pretty neat, we have to go to one every Spring for Lily to get credit for her chorus class.

Here the high school and middle schools just do their own chorus concerts - they do several types throughout the year (like normally a Christmas concert at a church or the school, a mixed schools concert contest/judging type thing, and then the high school does a "spring show" which is more like a musical than just a concert. It's so fun. Unfortunately, that won't count for my class :P No unprofessional - i.e. - high school or lower - concerts. How college is more professional than high school I'm not sure, and the majority of those students were doing chorus (or band) in high school too!

We do them, too. Elementary school (5th and 6th) does a winter and spring chorus concert, and the band does a spring concert.

Then the junior high does fall, winter and spring concerts for choir, and winter and spring concerts for band. Senior high does fall, winter and spring for both choir and band. And jazz band plays in the spring concert too. And occasionally in the winter concert, if they're ready. They played at the Christmas concert and I was SO impressed, because they'd only had like.. 6 weeks of rehearsals. (Jazz band starts two weeks after marching band ends).

But they have to go to at least 3 other concerts throughout the year. One has to be a choir or band concert at the high school (and get their programs signed), one at another school, and preferably one at the college.

wow. Glad I didn't/don't have to do that! Katie was in chorus for 3 yrs of middle and 4yrs of highschool, plus Nathan had 2 yrs in middle and now in his 2nd year of highschool chorus.

Been doing my weekly shopping. What fun. Still have to go get oil and filter for the car (couldn't find the info at walmart, so hubby going to auto parts store instead). And he'll hopefully change my oil. I also have to shampoo the carpet again (thanks old dog) and have youth group tomorrow. We are doing cookies - so I have decided to mix up the dough beforehand and cut out some/bake some (valentines style sugar cookies) so they are ready to decorate with frosting/sprinkles and pre-prep some sheets of dough for THEM to cut out and decorate with sugar sprinkles before we bake them there. (limited time, or I'd let them help mix/bake too) Also going to "celebrate" one of the girls birthdays (its later in the month) with lil debbie birthday cakes and mini ice cream cups. :P

My suggestion for next months activity is going to be to decorate a pot and plant a flower in it - I've done it with my PreK kids - I love the activity. You use paint on a ceramic pot - using your thumbprints or fingerprints and then when dry use a sharpie and turn the prints into animals like a butterfly, snail, ant, caterpillar, etc. But if they come up with something else, we'll do that instead. I just try to have an activity to suggest. (We meet for about an hour - and it only takes about 20-25min to do the "meeting" part of it, so to keep them having fun and entertained, I do a "fun" activity after)

Ahhh, thank you Kat!

That sounds fun! Everyone I know has always enjoyed painting flower pots, I think it's a great idea!

Isabelle had a finger print book thing, it came with finger sized stamp pads and had different ideas to do, it was pretty neat.

Thanks for the tokens. You didn't have to be so extra!!! Lol

The group is supposed to also be about community service and giving back. And I'm trying to think of some activities we can do that won't cost a lot but will allow that a little. I have 2 local animal havens we can visit and donate at, and was thinking of making some paper flowers/cards for the masonic widows (we give them fruit baskets every Christmas) ... I have to keep in mind my group is 6-10 yr olds. [edit] Realized this morning I do NOT have a discussion thread in History this week! Yay. Just the reading, videos to watch, the quiz and the exam. Also a bit frustrated now because I cannot in any way seem to find out what answers I am getting wrong on my music quiz - it allows multiple attempts, which is great, but without knowing which questions I got wrong, how do I attempt a better score? I might end up with a worse one :( Last quiz it told me the questions I got wrong (It did NOT tell me the correct answer, just that I had it wrong). I have improved my score from a 72 to 86 to 89 now with 3 attempts. I am a little afraid to try again, since I may do worse "fixing" an answer that doesn't need to be fixed!!

What about making extra flowerpots and bringing them to a senior center? They all love stuff like that.

You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!

Thats a nice idea. I'll have to see how much the flowerpots/flowers cost, and bring it up, the big girls could help us with that. Right now, I'm getting stuff out of my own pocket (or closet in the case of construction paper activities) - I do need to look into seeing if I can get reimbursed if it gets more expensive (from the girls' group - after all, that's what the fireworks fundraiser is for, IMO).

Paper flowers would be something nice to put in the flower pots too, even!

Normally we've gotten the pots ofr like 97 cents, or 1.97. Which is somewhat rough, depending on the amount of kids you've got!

I've got 4 girls. They decided they wanted to donate them to a nursing home. So will try to make some extras. Depending on costs. Of course I did get told to turn in receipts for things I do with them, without having to ask lol so that was nice (Board meeting followed girls meeting today, so they saw what all I had there for girls.....frosting, cookies, sprinkles, birthday snack/drink). - I was finishing cleaning up after the girls left.

There are 3 big girls (my daughter being one, but I know she won't be around) - I was thinking of inviting them to join in. They usually have their own meetings at the same time - except on days like today where one had ballet and the other went to another groups installation of officers. [edit] 2/7 @ 650 am Good Morning. So last night I got my email update from history teacher (he mails one out every week stating the new module has started, etc) so I went to look. Yanno, I spent all this time going why isn't he posting the quiz earlier, fine I'll wait... so yea - he posted the quiz AND the exam this time sigh Can't win for losing with this teacher!! LOL But at least it means, YAY I can do the quiz/test when I am ready this week! But - hahaha - he uploaded the wrong power point presentation - it was for world history (im in US history). So I emailed and let him know LOL

Also I did my music a 4th time and got a 94% so DONE there. Not trying again. Got a 90 on the quiz for that music module too.

WHOOOO for your music grade!

And hey, at least they're up this time!

Finally leaving the house, I haven't been out since Wednesday? The girls had a 2 hour delay today because there are STILL roads covered in ice. :/ I do need to get out and start scraping my windshield, I think it's too thick to let the defroster get it :P

We're goign to pick Lily up from Jazz Band and then take them for fro-yo for dinner.. and then some grocery shopping. And Lily needs to pick out a pattern for her 4-H sewing project. Isabelle is going to make a dress with cat ears or something? I can't remember, but I've got the pattern she chose downstairs in the closet LOL.

Oh it's like, the 5th two hour delay this year LOL. They do those before they cancel them. It's kind of nice, because honestly, the roads AREN'T great, and most jobs around here realize that sometimes, you're just goign to have to come in late.

I saw the coolest thing on tiktok this morning. yellowstonejobs .com or .org or something IDK but they had some AMAZING looking views and videos and there's your perfect job for you! Housing and everything is included!

Froyo was really good last night, AND on a plus side, they have a deal on Monday? But we ended up getting Wendys a few hours later too, because uh.. we were still out and well, I wanted a cheeseburger in the worst way.

We got the (small amount) of groceries we needed though, and we got fabric for both and patterns for Lily. We just need a stretchy fabric for her top now, but I'm going to try and shop my MiLs stash for that.

Today there's not much happening, computer club ends at 330, have to pick Lily up then. Then Elly has 4H cake decorating from 6-7, have to drop Lily off at play practice at 6, then drop Elly off when she's done with cake decorating, and pick them up at 8:30.

Accidentally kidnapped Lilys boyfriend. Asked for a ride home after computer club, I asked if he wanted to stay for dinner. Apparently the message didn't go through to his mom, so he just said yes.
