I have a few books rented out of the library right now. I'm starting with a poetry book called Icehouse Lights by David Wojahn. It's been an okay read, feels like a lot of personal moments that the author is recalling, so it feels very emotional.

Shelter was, in a word, weird. Not bad, exactly, just... weird. The ending was a bit lackluster, and it took a while to read because the writing style was headache-inducing, but I didn't come out truly disappointed, so that's something. Flower Net by Lisa See is what I pulled for my next read. The inner cover blurb seems interesting, though there are a couple "red flag phrases" for me that make me a little leery (I've not come across very many books with phrases like "ignites their passion for each other" in their cover blurbs that haven't let me down in some way). Overall, I'm tentatively hopeful this will be an entertaining read despite any... hinky bits.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Planning on checking out the movie once I've finished.

I heard about The Dresden Files for years and finally picked up the first 6 books.

I can't believe this was in our HS library, wow. It's growing on me.

I'm currently reading "The Witch" by Ronald Hutton, which is non-fiction, but I picked it because I'm interested in the history of witchcraft and the different interpretations of it. As for fiction, the next book on my list is probably going to be "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë or "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss.

My current reads are Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer and The Long Walk by Stephen King! I actually read The Long Walk last November and LOVED it so much (5 stars from me), so for this reread, I'm annotating it and it's been fun so far.

I'm currently reading a few webcomics as well, but those will take forever to actually finish.

I loved Emma. I read it last year and was pleasantly surprised by the entire story!

Haven't finished Flower Net yet (the characters annoy me, I knew I'd get tired of all the background pining/romance gobshite, but I was hopeful it would be far more, well, BACKGROUND than it has turned out to be so far), but I've been reading the light novels for The Irregular at Magic High School, too, lately. They're pretty good, actually! I didn't expect too much going in (they're light novels, after all, they tend to be amateur works by their very nature half the time), but I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've read so far (I'm up to the Visitor arc). Some of the antagonists bug me, and this arc in particular has felt like a bit of a slog, but it's still been a good read.

John Le Carre is my go to author. I have read "The Spy who Came in From the Cold" at least a dozen times. Stellar story, stellar writing.

Finally finished Flower Net a couple weeks back. It wasn't completely awful, but I only really liked maybe one-third of the entire book, tops? I LOATHED the ending with the intensity of a thousand suns, and one hundred percent could have done without all the awkward romantic bits that just... didn't really work for me. I decided to go with a no-fail classic after that; Don Quixote by Cervantes. It may have gotten me heckled a bit by my family, but this piece of literature is an absolute TREASURE to me.
