Its been ages since I've gotten to a point where I was ready enough to call on to see how a profile was looking...so here we go! A nice simple one.

Spotlight is active, but I'm really looking to make sure everything is lining up correctly on other devices and screen sizes. Lea's code is amazing, but I made a few small edits and just want to err on the side of caution. (and if anyone wants to take a peek at the story and make sure it flows alright, well, I wont complain xD )

Hi! I love the profile, esp how the pet image is rotating. I love animation in profiles. Just makes them more interesting I think. The story is amazing. I really like the message! Here is what I see: Screenshot A couple things I would change... The name needs to be a little smaller, and move upward so it doesn't hit the dividing line or the pet image. Or the line and below needs to move down a bit. Also the color and owner run into the spotlight. If they were centered under the line I think it would look better. Just my opinion, but I think there needs to be a bit more vertical spacing in the story. The text seems to be crowded.

A typo: 5th para 'beyond the towns borders.' s/b 'beyond the town's borders.' Hmmm.....not sure where the name text is coming from on your screen cause I don't see that font on either my computer or my phone xD It's huge! Completely cutting off the 'ly' from his name. I made it slightly smaller, did it do anything on your end? Also edited spacing, so hopefully less crowded?

Not 100% sure how to center the color/owner/spotlight as in the code its all relative with left and top pxs. Don't wanna mess up the code ^^;

Here is the new Screenshot. I have heard that there are differences in what fonts are in everyone's computers. So if I don't have the font you are using, it will default to one I do have. That may be why its different. Idk I never actually ran into this problem. The name is still not working. Can you do a screenshot so I can see your version? If yours works, then it might just be mine. If other people see it right I would leave it. But I really like the text of the story now. Reads perfectly! For the Spotlight and color/owner, I would just mess with the left pxs on both until it looks right. You could also ask Lea. She is so nice and helpful she wouldn't mind at all.

[Edit] Ooops just saw your edit. I'm sorry, I meant horizontally center. But the way you have it is fine, once you move the pet like. When your pet wins the spotlight, the trophy will overlay on some of the story. But you can always fix that then when you can see how much to move it.

Huh, a little better but still big. Weird. Heres what I see But even on my phone, while I don't get that particular font - I'm still getting a nice cursive that does fit. May have to play around with fonts... Oh good, the story is the important part! Glad the spacing worked out.

Mm, I kinda like how it fell with my attempt at centering. Makes it nice and neat looking I think~ And true, if I really get stuck I know I can reach out to her. I like to problem solve though, a bit of a learning experience.

Aww that's cute! I would make the name a color, maybe the color of the line. I like your placement of the info and the pet like. :) I finally found this code. It's from a free profile by Fallen Samurai. (Please credit) Sub your font info and try it. If this code or something like it is used, I think everyone would see it because its imported into the profile itself. It has to be at the very top just below style. if it doesn't work, ask someone else to look at the name. If they see it the way its supposed to be, I would leave it alone. Yay! Glad you were able to do that. I almost always create an image for the name on my profiles. He was already nominated for the Spotlight. Sometimes they will deny it if there were too many changes, and then its 7 days until it can be renominated. If that happens, just let me know and I will be glad to do it for you. :)

Hi all! I have a question. Well, two.

1. Is there a treasure chest size to aim for?
2. Is there some kind of database listing all subeta items? I have a pet I am working on and I want to start with her Treasure Chest but I'm drawing a blank...I vaguely remember there being somewhere we could look. (EDIT I found the subeta on-site list, I don't know how I missed that before!)

1. not necessarily! it'll absolutely depend pet to pet, theme to theme, etc. do what you feel works best!

I have another question - how important is original art for winning spotlight? I can do a lot of things - write, compile source materials, etc, but I left my remedial art skills behind long ago unfortunately.

Hi! You do not have to have original art to win the Spotlight. There are many who have won without it. That said, if you wish to recolor a pet or have someone create art for you, there are so many fantastic artists on this site. In the Forums, you should look here in Profiles and Graphics Market and the Art Market.

One of my favorite artists is dalice for recolors, and ">Hound for original art, esp equines. There are widely varying artists, too, depending on your taste and what in particular you are looking for, and how much you want to spend. I love Ankoku, who does stunning art and and if you want something eerie and spooky check out atempause. There are more I would recommend of course, but they are not doing art at the moment.

Hi! I like the profile. You need to credit the art. Also, just my opinion, but where it says 'Character Info' You need either the text or the background darker. I have a really hard time reading it. So this profile, including the snake art, will go on all your serpenths? That could be cool. Are you going to change the colors for each profile? Also somewhere you need the pet image, spotlight, and minion, even if they are just in tabs. :)

Thank you for looking! The Character Info part is temporary, thankfully (though I do have to figure out how to change my spoiler colors). The art is by me, but the credit is tiny and in the bottom left. I'll have something similar for all of my Serpenths in the sameish abstract(?) style, but customized for each of them–it's really the coding and placement of the art that will be the same.

The spotlight link will be going into the bottom right space next to the TC. Is the pet image and minion necessary for spotlight? I thought those could be hidden so long as the character isn't human.
