hello everynyan i hope you're doing well, i come bearing another (wip) edgy american gothic pet!

his writing is very wip rn, i'm going for a certain Tone (my friend has in the past called it 'apocalyptic') and i hope i'm reaching that! cw for murder and death and reanimation i suppose.

his tc is also wip; i have a list of items here i'm working on getting for him, but i definitely need more!! some i'm seeking include thematically appropriate items in black/dark gray, and some sort of barbed wire related item. i would LOVE suggestions. ;v;

Hmm, I know that in the discord you mentioned wanting to hit those Southern gothic notes. Iirc from my lovely literature high school class, it's a style that focuses on like the decay of status symbols (i.e. mansions, buildings, possessions, etc) and the sort of subversive corruption of what is supposed to be "Southern proper" (i.e. the idea of the Southern belle, propriety/respectability, gender, religion, etc). I think your piece has a compelling narrative arc, but you could build in some more ambiance by elaborating more on bits of setting and the destruction of family to hit those tonal notes that you were thinking of. That's just my thoughts, feel free to toss them aside if they don't really fit what you're going for.

Also this is a personal nitpick because I have a minor visual disability, but the font comboed with the color is borderline ridiculously difficult for me to read. It kind of makes me enjoy the pet less, but if you wanna stick to your creative guns on this one... well, I won't yuck your yum.

You mention murder and death, so be careful how you word the story, that it's not over PG13 or it will be rejected from the Spotlight. My pet 666 was rejected for that and maybe one day I'll rewrite the story to PG13 but I love it as is right now..lol.

i can absolutely elaborate more, esp on setting! in an earlier draft of this i actually did but i changed it, so i'll go back and look at it for sure. my own thots re: sogo were like. in regard to decay, a man dying, being buried, and then coming back to life could certainly fit that bill imo!! a more literal decay than of, say, a building. and then re: southern proper, sick was a nice enough boy before his passing but now that he's been reanimated, he's... less so. if he's even himself, y'feel! also the font was actually more unreadable in a prev incarnation of the profile dfkjgndjfng i'll definitely work on it/play with the color/size.

you are not the only person with an issue with the font so i'll definitely play with it, tysm to you both for letting me know!! re: the death and murder i intend to be Kind of Vague with it (at least the murder part), not really going into detail but showing more of an aftermath (and a scene with his sister, i think!)

Your profile is really stunning! But the 'For a while...' and 'He started laughing' paragraphs need to come down a line each to have the space between to match the others and not look crowded. The only part of your profile I can't read now is the band names. By the way, I LOVE how you physically did it, and that you added music to the profile. The whole thing looks fantastic and definitely achieves the vibe you're going for.

again cws for murder/death/reanimation. i reckon my only misgiving is, is it too Dark for spotlight? bc i'd def like to get him nominated, i tried to stay vague and pg-13 with the deaths and not go into detail, but i've not had a spotlight pet yet (prophet is nominated but hasn't popped yet) so i am less sure on boundaries i guess?

Only thing I'd change is with some of the headings use a BR (eg "Death!" the crowd cried. "Death for him once more!" put the BR between sentences so it reads more fluently as it's a narrow area)

Also.. how did you do that music list?? It's amazing! I'd love the code.

i do have some tc and minion suggestons, though!! as much as i love 'watch the sunset', for your consideration: a different minion (that i DONT have a suggestion on, something at your discretion), and put the sunset into the tc as well, beginning the tc with the sunrise and ending with the sunset?
