that must've been hard with the hearing problem as well! I'm lucky in that with glasses my eyesight is pretty good, although they've now got me down for check ups once a year rather than once every two years, because of my age (guessing that'd be similar to yours?).

I think you're not really a crafter unless you've got at least one project that just seems cursed! :P

Ewwww that's always a hard one to deal with - they seem to get in through impossible gaps! Hopefully they'll leave you alone ;)

She is a Pusur in training. :D My mum melted when Pusur gave her his forehead for her to kiss, like he does with me (even on command or if I just make kissing sounds lol).

Ohhh! It is looking fantastic. :D Some really nice stuff you got there. :)

I have been having fun cleaning today and put out traps.. found a few ants in my kitchen. Yuck! I have not seen any more.. so I hope they are mostly gone.

Glad your vision is good with glasses. :D I probably should get regular check ups like that, but I have not been doing them that regularly. Usually a few years between each time. blushes

I guess it is all a part of the crafting experience. ;) At least I wont be needed such a warm sweater in a few months.

I have not seen anymore since I cleaned and stuff.. hope it stays that way. Uggh. lol

I'm always overly wary when it comes to the seams :P

I will admit more of my eye tests are a lot further apart than that! But I keep changing the optician I go to anyway (I fell out with most of the others), so it takes a while to find a new one I'm happy with, that can actually work with me rather than just telling me they can't do anything for my light sensitivity.

But then you'll be ready with the finished warm sweater by the time winter comes around ;)

She does sound really sweet. <3 Getting along with the rest of the crew now? Congrats on your first sale! That is awesome. :D Me too. Uggh, especially where you handle food.

I hope you can find an optician that you feel comfortable with and that can work with you. My eyes are sensitive to light as well, so I have been debatting getting prescription sunglasses. Would be kinda expensive though.

I hope so, if it ever gets done. lol

I did consider zigzagging the seams together after sewing them, but for most toys they need curved seams, and if you zigzag them together like that, they don't always lie properly & just look a bit 'wrong' when you've finished 😊

Do you wear glasses all day? I had some 'transition' lenses that automatically change to sunglasses in sunlight, which work really well for being out in the sunshine. But my current pair are slightly tinted grey (not enough to really know, but apparently that's still too much to wear them for driving), and have an 'anti blue light' coating which is helping to tone down LED lights so I can handle them better. Unfortunately I can't have the anti blue light and transitions together as that's apparently an impossible combination for them to make!

I'm confident you'll get it done nods - sometimes making something in the wrong season can help to get it done, as you don't feel there's the same urgency to get it made so you can get on and wear it! ;)

She's a total doll. Oh my yes, she fit in on pretty much day 3. Maya still has some issues with her but otherwise it was mostly seamless. thanks. I'm panicking a little as my funds are very low so I hope I make some profits soon.

-nods- it's amazing how things have to go in the exact way.

@ Paddy I do wear them all day yes. Do you as well? :) Ohh, I did not know such transition lenses existed! I am going to have to look that up. Sounds like it could work really well for me that is always squinting in the sunlight. lol I never knew they could do all this with glasses, pretty cool reallly. Except for not being able to do put everything together into one lense

That is a good point, and it is for myself so I don't have to feel bad about making someone wait. :)

That is aswesome. :) It would be fun for me to get another cat as wel, but would not be practical sadly. I am sure it will work out just fine. hugs

I'm very happy she fit in so well <3 Yeah adding another pet can be expensive. I hope so. Sometimes Maya is rather...mean.

Happy to hear that she fit in so well too! ❤

I can afford it if I want, but I don't have a lot of space here and it would be more difficult when I go away. :)

Cats can really be mean to each other. o-o

sits and admires your HA :D

When I made that coat for Mum (well, the original one that she snaffled :P), I didn't bother trimming the seams in the hood as I didn't see how that would really make a difference.... it was a nightmare trying to topstitch the hood, as the curve wouldn't lie flat. With the most recent one, I trimmed every seam the instructions told me to, and that hood curve behaved itself perfectly :P I still don't quite understand how just trimming a seam down to half its original width really makes that much difference in the end though :P

nods yeah, my glasses are the first thing I put on in the morning and the last thing I take off at night ;) Sometimes (over here at least) they're called "reaction" glasses, but it all seems to depend on which company manufactured them (I think "transitions" is a trademark for one company) - they're all the same idea though, despite the different names ;) They should change really quickly in sunlight, then as you go into a building, there's a couple of seconds while they change back to regular lenses again - it sounds weird, but I've never actually noticed them changing (although someone I used to work with had commented that my glasses seemed to change back to normal ones while I was talking to her.... she was really confused with that!) ;)

I do normally wear a baseball cap as well when I go outside, as that helps just to block any sunlight that would sneak in above my glasses ;)

That's always helpful when there's not the pressure of having to make it for someone else! I've still got a couple of things I was meant to make for Mum & Dad's anniversary.... I've got the fabric and patterns, but still haven't even got as far as measuring them to figure out what size I should be making! 😊

Same for me, I can't see much at all on my left eye without them!

I really appreciate you mentioning it, since I want to check if this is something that would work for me. :) Hehe.. I can imagine that being weird to witness if you have never seen such glasses before. Pretty neat. :)

I have a baseball cap too that I have used when it is really sunny and I want some shade. Works well enough. :D Bought it when I was on vacation and the sun was driving me nuts when I was trying to read my book. lol

Is their anniversary close or do you still have some time to get it done? :)

You're welcome :D By that point I'd got used to them changing, so I couldn't understand why she just seemed to be staring at my glasses laughs Of course normally in work my glasses never saw sunlight - it was only because I'd wandered around town in my lunchbreak and had just come back into the store, that she saw them changing ;)

Their anniversary was December 27th laughs so I just need to get that done before August ideally, as then I need to work on whatever I'm making for this year's anniversary! 😊

I just googld and the optician next door, has glasses with transition glasses. So I am going to stop by and ask about cost etc. :) I bet it did look a bit like witchcaraft to her. :) It is good to know it seems easy to get used to tho, at least it sounds like it was?

Sounds like you know what your next projects will be at least. :) I should get started on the ear warmer my mum asked for... I have the pattern and yarn ready. At least it is much faster than a sweater. :P

awesome! Hopefully it won't make it too pricey :D nods Mum had always said she didn't like the idea of transition lenses as she didn't want to know they were changing - but since she's had hers, she's admitted the only time she's ever noticed them changing is if she comes indoors on a really bright sunny day, and it takes a couple of seconds for the glasses to change back.... but coming indoors from that level of brightness always takes my eyes a while to adjust anyway ;)

Mostly I've been putting that off as I don't want to have to measure them (as Dad always denies what his real measurements are) :P but maybe next month I can get on with that, as Dad's also got some PJ bottoms that need taking up before the winter :P

ooo that should be quite a neat make, especially if you're still getting frustrated with the sweater! ;)

Homes are so expensive in my city, that I could not afford anything bigger so yeah. lol

Wouldn't be a cat without the attitude. xD

I am curious how much it would actually cost!

That does sound really good. :) I can totally live with noticing it on occation. :) Maybe you can measure something of his that you know fits well? Or would that be tricky too? I wish had the patience and the skill to properly take up my trousers etc. :P I do a half-assed job at it usually. lol

This earwarmer is twisted, which I have never tried before. the pattern comes with pictures and good instructions so hopefully it wont be too difficult. :)
