the low tier version of the trident will not scale when in the same set as the knocker. It’s not really mentioned much anywhere on site that’s obvious, so it’s not really something you could have known.

I think it's intentional. Is that not mentioned on Subetalodge's site when looking up either weapon?

I thought maybe it was to avoid the appearance of pay2win, but I have no idea who to even ask about it. This was ‘common’ knowledge a few years ago, but player churn and the lack of official mention of it kind of made it drop out of battle chat memory I guess.

SubetaLodge only mentions the Knocker reverting to the tier one version, oddly. I should probably equip them both and look.

Yeah, they both revert to T1 versions when used together, but they did heal chums for 1100!

Yeah, it was mentioned in the old weapons guide we had on here but that's been defunct for awhile now. So I knew about that in the back of my head. It's not surprising if others don't know though, the weapons don't mention anything along the lines of "you can't use this and that together".

MOROSTIDE CHALLENGERS: NIGHTLADY If you found even Carrion Lord to be too easy for your pet, you might as well give Nightlady a try. Many battlers see defeating her as a milestone goal, so let’s see what the hype is about.

image We could have a Halloween-like bash without a spider, could we? I mean, after all, arachnophobia is the second most common fear in the world. She is considerably harder than Carrion Lord and is best suited for pets that are around tier 9 or 10. Here are her stats:

Health: 7,500 Attack: 3,500 Defense: 3,000 Speed: 2,300 EXP: 7,500

Her stats are about average for a tier 9/low tier 10 challenger. However, the main difficulty comes with survival due to the combination of her main attacks and strong curses. Here are her weapons:

Poison-Soaked Dagger: 5 or 10 physical, 10 or 15 dark, 5 or 15 earth, 5 water High chance of activating Blood Render curse (24 icons; 1 round) Heals 75 HP Low chance of freezing Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Itsy Bitsy Nightlady: Blocks 8 physical/dark/earth/ice/water/wind Moderate chance of activating Web of Decay curse (9 icons; ? rounds) Low chance of stealing Breakable Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Web of Destruction: 30 physical, 30 ice One Use Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Minions of the Night: Heals 10% Generates Itsy Bitsy Nightladies.

Web of Holding: 25 dark, 20 earth, 15 ice Blocks all dark Will activate Web of Decay curse (9 icons; ? rounds) 100% chance of freezing Very low chance of stealing Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Let me just say that she does not have an equal quantity of each weapon. Far from it actually. She has only one Minions of the Night and probably only about two or three Webs of Holding, but she has over 20 Poison-Soaked Daggers. With that in mind, I would not recommend blasting or stealing.

Dark, earth, and possibly physical are what you want to defend yourself against. However, it can be difficult to choose between defense and healing because her icon types are rather narrow but she does a lot of curse damage as well. With that, it may take numerous attempts to defeat her. Actually, you don’t want to take too long since she not only has the potential to do some nasty attacks, but she also can freeze you or steal your weapons. It may also be wise to pay attention to how many Webs of Destruction she uses as once she runs out, you will want to focus on dark and earth blocks as her Poison-Soaked Daggers do the most of those and are also two of the icons types her Webs of Holding do.

Effective timing of Cobalt Eternal Scrolls and clutch healers is important to keep yourself alive. I did say that it will take you multiple attempts to defeat her, and that is because you might not find her too troublesome if you can get lucky enough to use strong defense and not get cursed very often (note that the Web of Decay curse can really make you less likely to win). If you have a Gelatin Slayer (or even the less effective Ultra Star Rod), it might be a good idea to use it. Replica Minotaur Knocker or Maliss Cannon can make decent lower budget options. If you are tier 10, Plague Claw might help a bit too. Ornamented Hook Swords can help a lot, but the 450M price tag isn’t worth it if you just want them for this one challenger. Darkness, Earth, and Death shards can be helpful in a pinch, so make sure you have those equipped at any time you try to challenge Nightlady.

Upon defeat, she will drop a lot of sP (up to 100K) as well as the “NightLady Defeated” achievement. Since Nightlady is the hardest opponent to have an achievement that is part of the Morostide Warrior meta-achievement, you will get that achievement too as well as the “Morostide Warrior” title. You will receive three items from the following in her regular loot:

Fresh Pumpkin Spider Web Evil Spider Angelic Spider Death Mage Amulet Dark Mage Amulet Tome of Death Tome of Darkness Shriek of Despair Scroll

At this point, I am guessing you are all sick of Fresh Pumpkins? The good news though is that they are not overly dominant in her loot and the better news is that the challenger harder than her (Rouland) doesn’t drop them at all! Thankfully, mage amulets are fairly common in her regular loot for a change. Not only that, but she even drops mage tomes!

The real highlight of the loot is the Shriek of Despair Scroll. This is the rarest drop of hers, meaning you may or may not get one in your 10 wins. However, it is easily her best drop (even better than the special loot listed below). This scroll is very similar to Psycho Smasher in that it is mainly used for freezing. It is OPB, but is extremely helpful (to which I name drop it in several of my tier 11+ challenger guides). Its stats are as follows:

Blocks 75 wind Damages you for 3% of your health 85% chance to freeze Takes up 15 AP OPB

This scroll is definitely worth trying past the 5th win for.

Morosbane Scroll Threads of the Lady Tale of the Nightlady

The threads are a wig while Tale of the Nightlady is a book. Morosbane Scroll is not quite as nice as the Shriek of Despair Scroll mentioned above, but it is pretty nice, especially on weaker pets. This is an OPB scroll that does 40 light while healing 300 HP and taking up 15 AP. Very OP on low tier pets. It even does well on mid tier pets and can even offer a better heal than your healing scroll on pets up to 3000 HP. Above that amount and it is really more of a high damaging scroll (though still good for boss battles).

This concludes the Morostide challengers as far as guides go. This would have been made last year if only they would have been released then. Here’s to hoping you all can get a bonanza of Shrieks! The good news about these challengers is that if you cannot beat them this year, then there is always next year to try them out.
