Ah yes, I thought of Neopets as well.
No matter what amount of help is offered, she has to be willing to change... and she isn't. I'm not the type of person that easily lets things go (especially if I can't tell the person how it made me feel). I used to be a duck in a tar pit... over time I've become a duck in mud (but sometimes an oil spill)... I just am not the type that's like water off a duck's back. At least I'm not a groundhog dashing away :D Ah... we all have faults, it's just a matter of figuring out if we can stand others or better to keep at a distance. In this case, 10-foot pole and more :P
Technically one can report covid business incidents; however, it's problematic and a lot of effort. At one point I do let go. ;)
Shopping spree: It was supposed to rain in the afternoon, well... it rained when I got out of the bus and had to wait 10 min for the store to open its doors... pouring rain. I had a raincoat; however, my rollator (walker with 4 wheels) winded up being drenched. I was in the store for over an hour before trying on things... sat on rollator and out of nowhere a puddle formed! My behind was wet as well as the floor XD I was able to find pjs (only had a few that I can tolerate now due to the premenopause overheating). There were two models that had pants instead of shorts so I got two of each for winter. I also got a slip and two slimming shorts. I winded up finding 2 dresses and a long sleeve shirt that I'll be able to wear without sweating too much. I also found dishcloths & hand towels (was overdue, some of mine have too many holes and no matter how much I clean them the stains are resistant... even with bleach!) I also got 3 packs of face wipes (using masks they've become very useful), a gel eye mask... and one pamper-me item = lavender collagen body wash.
So I go up to the cash thinking it would be around $300... oh maybe $400... well it was $500!!! And there goes my entire budget for Sept o.O Yes, I got a few things for autumn/winter weather but I couldn't wait until later as it's an overstock store and you need to grab it while it's there.
Worst part is that I didn't find the kitchen, garden, or meditation things that I wanted. XD Now's the time to throw the blanket over my head and say I'm not going out for another long while... and try to stay away from online shopping as well :P
Hmm....I hope you weren't price gouged.....
As for the starry pet art, I've made a couple more of them. Since a good chunk of people came from Neo, I might have found a market for recoloring.....I need to earn CSC some way besides bathhouse and morty cards. :)
[tot=PiplupMagby34]
Marshalls & Homesense (similar to Winners) sell items at lower prices than regular stores. It was equivalent to getting about 50% off or more.
Great idea to get some CSC by recolouring :)
I want to finish arranging my balcony today, remove tags & wash clothing, and put a few things away. I might have someone from the residence come tomorrow to inspect my balcony so I want to get the place tidied up :)
I've drafted up the instructions/rules for the shop, but I'm unsure of which forum to post it in..waiting for staff to answer.
In the meantime, I've been trying to do recolors with other Neopet colors.

They're a bit more...off compared to other recolors. But I think they keep the spirit of the original Neopets colors....

Your beautiful pet overlays should fit nicely in the Profiles & Graphics Market ;)
Yeah, I just opened up a shop in that forum!
Thanks! I've gotten quite a few compliments about my recolors.

Congrats :) I'm sure people will become interested. If you change your forum signature with an ad and link to your forum page you'd even get free publicity everywhere you post ;)
Cute recolors! School starts here after Labor day. Where are you at with your education?
Love your HA! How have you been?
We got back yesterday from my vacation. Had a wonderful time in between the hiccups that are always bound to happen along the way(big family took over the cabin place on our last night there and no one was wearing masks so we hid inside for the night and the next night our air mattress decided not to stay inflated for the one night we camped in our tent- OUCH! So glad we only booked one night to camp!!). Today we cleaned our tent and got it packed away, ready for the next adventure. We hiked about 15 miles total for the week and will do a few more tomorrow since technically we're still on vacation lol. My knees hated me yesterday! They are better today and I'm hoping tomorrow they will cooperate on our hike LOL.
A couple of years into grad school.
Am I too paranoid? I'm literally afraid of even going outside to take a breath of fresh air due to the virus. My mother says I need to have more faith, and she's worried that I'll get serious health conditions due to not getting fresh air because the air in our house is "man-made."
She argues that my father goes out to his job everyday (library technician) and comes back fine. But he's actually wearing a mask. She's wanting me to do this without a mask. It's only for a few seconds, but I'm so nervous because I've heard stuff about how badly the virus had affected certain people.
I know my family would be badly affected if I caught it. In addition to my father not being able to work, my mother recently had to start wearing a defibrillator. I don't know if that makes her more at risk.....
I'm in the southern U.S., in one of the states that has had steady increases in cases.

Ice your knees 10 min; it'll help them recover faster next hike ;)
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I've been where you're at for the Covid fear. I had severe anxiety attacks going outside and had difficulty at times putting one foot out the residence or on my balcony. I've worked a lot on coping with my fears and I can now go out shopping (not often though) and gardening.
If you're outside, keep 2 meters (6 feet) away from anyone and you're ok... even if they sneeze or cough, although try to turn your head and close your eyes if someone is going to. If you have a private backyard, frolic with nature as much as you want!
Look into getting a washable face mask, at least one but ideally a few so you can wash & let dry. If you're less than 2m, it'll partially protect you & it'll help protect others. Look into getting a face shield or goggles (even swimming goggles will do). Combined, it'll help. Make sure to wash your hands... coming into your home, before making food, before eating, etc. then moisturize like crazy to avoid cracked hands.
Think of it as baby steps... exposure therapy. Every day you succeed with one little step outside makes you less anxious and will help you make more steps next time.
In other news: I winded up doing a balcony makeover!
Why? I found out that some residents have been complaining to the administrative board about my balcony. Some administrators tried finding various ways to force me to remove things. Some want things to look similar and with almost nothing on the balconies; however, I pay rent and I’m following the rules. I have the right to my individuality. I’m not the only one that they are going after; but, some aren’t following the rules. In my case, I’m above the front entrance and some would like to control everything on my balcony.
Some thought the rule “encumbrance” would be applicable; however, I have a huge balcony and most of it is actually empty space! I had pushed everything to the sides and used larger items to provide some much-needed privacy (people can even see into my apartment!).
Some complained about rusty metallic structures… I have two fountains (although I use them as statues) of cranes with lily pads. Joke’s on them, there are parts that are painted to look like rust… each fountain is worth over $550! Of course, I didn’t pay that ;)
I did take the time to look downstairs and from below it did seem cluttered (perspective is key). The fountains were hidden more by the pillars, making it harder to figure out what they are. So… although I had planned on continuing my balcony transformation next year, I winded up getting a few things out of season (and what a headache it was!).
I was able to remove the terracotta-colored pots. I’m going to donate them to the residence. The person that takes care of the flowers already has a project in mind for them in front entrance next year :)
To replace the pots, I bought a self-watering planter and combined my lilac tree as well as plants that have small flowers. I covered a section with woodchips and the other section with moss/sand. I’m planning on putting some of my smaller Chinese figurines there as well, once I find them :D
I got two small benches with storage bins that I combined together to make a seat… whenever I have guests over (not this year though) or if Gismo wants to sunbathe.
I repositioned my crane statues. Some of the plants that were in the larger terracotta pots were actually in smaller pots so I only kept the smaller ones.
I took a look from street level. The dark brown brings less attention than the terracotta. I think it should appease the administrative board and residents while still giving me privacy and individuality.
Ah, thanks!
Don't worry we have washable face masks in our residence. :)
Are you excited for quest-a-thon?
[tot=PiplupMagby34]
Quest-a-thon... on one side yay on the other side wants to hide under couch.
I have a learning disability that makes it problematic to do quests. However, I'll do my best and with every quest, I'll contribute to the ultimate goal ;)
Hi :-) I'm doing well. School has started up and we are offering in person as well as online so it's going to be interesting. I sweat through my mask in about an hour (no AC in classrooms), so I have to bring quite a few masks. Last week was two half days and starting tomorrow we are full days, five days a week. Keep a good thought for me, the other teachers/staff and the kids. We will be good if the parents aren't idiots. sigh
You tossed your Aged Blood Sauce into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out ! :D
I hope the first few days at school went relatively well. Stay safe ❤
I never thought I'd see the day... Poukie beat Prodigy not only once, but 5 times!!! I'm disappointed I wasn't awarded the special weapon; however, I did get a void scroll... good for bosses in battle site events.
I definitely wish temps weren't in the upper 90's (heat indices in the 100's and no AC.) But it's over and we all survived.
With that type of heat you'd need to do a Flashdance water scene :P It's been wet and humid here. I've been mostly staying inside and making a few outfit purchases online... premenopause overheating has forced me to get a whole new wardrobe as well as trying to stay stylish amongst Covid... fancy gloves, artistic masks, fancy tights, dresses, and more. It's like I'm going vintage but with a twist :P
You tossed your Brittle Fallen Leaf into the rift and a moment of calm is followed by a flash of red lightning, before the rift shoots out !
You had me all the way up to the tights. Nice snag from the rift,
I never was a big dress or tight person... only had a few and they're for special occasions. Now, they help with much-needed air circulation :D I have difficulties shaving my legs... I'm not a gymnast... so the tights help coverup the issue while creating an interesting visual (fishnet with various motifs). I'm also using 3/4 (thigh-high) with garter belts for more air circulation. Then there's the challenge of my thighs rubbing so waist slimming shorts... let's just say it can be challenging going to the washroom :P
hope all goes well with school!
glad to hear you had a good trip! We had some inconsiderate people around us when we went to Maryland about a month ago - they're everywhere.
your balcony sounds very interesting and pretty
good luck with the recolors. They're so cute.
My big news is I got a new laptop. It's always fun getting used to a new computer, lol. I had my last one since 2012! I got another Asus, a 15" zenbook.
