squishes I can imagine it's a total mess when the movers need to put things in particular places, but your brain is just so stuffed full with everything that you can't get sorted on where you need each thing!

My day was a something-of-nothing kind of day - we had the heating engineer come on Wednesday to service the boiler, and I think I was still getting sorted again after that (he needs to be in most rooms in the house, so I couldn't just hide away and ignore him) :P

nods We bought a couple of individual Christmas puddings in December, and I think they don't have to be eaten until next winter so that should work well for March :) And everything else we'd have for Christmas lunch, is really just our regular Sunday roast just with sprouts and stuffing (and the stuffing packets are in the supermarket all year round) ;)

I hope the Christmas eve meal goes well on Sunday :D

The reason I use the word 'pet' is because it means all of those things rolled into one. Usually with humans, once your kids are adults they don't depend on you, but your kids can't really be friends with you until they grow up. A pet is all those things.

I have never had christmas pudding, but I know you cant go wrong with a roast and stuffing. Nom nom. :)

Lemme say this, our movers sucked ass. They broke both my 20s, one of my 10s and Mum’s 65 gallon. We only knew about the 65 at first, which we replaced and will claim. Friday was another seriously way too long day. According to my pedometer I walked over 10k steps—nearing 5 miles. The day started with waking at 5.20 am and packing up the hotel room. This also included the 20 buckets of fish and water we brought with us for mum’s tank. First load I went with dad home and then we took the rental moving truck back…they said 9am, but no one was there. After wasting a lot of time, we decided to leave and go finish checking out. On the main road we saw a uhaul so we went back to get the truck…which is when the lady finally showed up and we got everything sorted there. We finally got everything loaded and moved at checkout time, 12pm. Then I had to take care of the fish tank… so that meant putting in the gravel that wasn’t with the fish first. Then I had to put in the water that we brought from the tank. Then it was catching fish in the buckets (lots of bending), then pouring the bucket into the tank. I found out my 20 and 10 were broken. So we called and discovered the price was cheaper to buy a bigger tank. It was on sale from $300 something to $150. Had to leave it in the van overnight though. Of course there was also going to Walmart for some groceries and so much more. I didn’t get to bed till past 1am and had to get up at 6am to drive to Atlanta to get our storage. We unloaded my tank then left. We stopped for Breakfast and my tummy decided to play up so I spent way longer in the loo that I wanted to. Finally we get back on the road—but Dad went back to towards the house—We got to Atlanta on time for the truck rental but they lost the reservations—Dad decided to drive 30mins away to get another of the same trucks… and I’m like just go to the Uhaul two blocks down. He didn’t. 2 hours later he FINALLY has a truck—from the Uhaul I suggested. I meanwhile am unbinding and go to several stores just for the loo. It’s also really cold and my coats and jackets were packed but not labelled by the movers so stuck with thin hoodie. Anyway, then we finally head back. I went to Petco first and got some fish and supplies. There’s no Petco down here. My fish came home in buckets. On the way home, I tried to eat at taco bell but the first attempt was bad because there was a gas main break and the road was backed up for miles. I slid over and did a U turn. Then I tried again later, but this time the statnav went bonkers because it couldn’t find it—neither could I. In fact, it isn’t there anymore, just the sign which I had followed. I got subway in the end. Then I went to petsmart in Warner Robins and picked up the kitten I adopted. She’d pulled her stitches from her spaying and needed it looked at which was why I waited to get her. Anyway, she came home with me, but I wound up having to keep her in my room while the church helped mum and dad move in. Finally I set up my 20 that had it’s hood broken and put those fish in. Then the new tank—it’s a 45 gallon and its soo pretty :D. my kitty tried to “help” but wanting attention lol it was sweet. I named the new kitten Maya Sushi. Maya’s light grey/lilac tabby. She’s soft with short fur. She’s got this stunning brown/gold vivid eyes. They aren’t entirely sure her age. I think it’s about 6 to 7 months since she’s still small. Her name at first from them was Shuga, because she’s sweet. Loves being petted. I fell in love the moment I saw her on Tuesday. Adopted her that night but waited because of the stitched thing. Anyway she’s been exploring my room and demanding snuggles. She's currently sleeping on my bed beside me. I think she's bonded already. She loves her cat bed...which is a cat lol it's got ears, paws and a tail even.

Read up all. sorry about the day. (yeah they are so much more arent they :) ) (its been a total nightmare. -snugs- No worries. Glad you got it back and working again.

😮 that's definitely not great sounding movers, if they can't shift those tanks without breaking them! :K But at least you've been able to start replacing them, and hopefully the claim will go through ok! :) Did the fish cope ok with all the stress of being moved around?
