The sewing went well today.... I realised I'd sewn the back yoke on wrong (on Sunday) when I looked back at it this morning, so this morning was spent unpicking six lots of topstitching and three seams, getting it pinned properly, then redoing all the stitches again 😊 I've got as far as the waistband now though, so once that's pressed and stitched, there's just the topstitching on that, then the belt loops to finish and the buttonhole & button to add in :D My plan is to try and get that finished today if I can, so I can work on K's little 'first day of school' present on Thursday, then start the 'proper' jeans on Saturday (it probably won't work like that, but it's worth a try!!)

[edit] I got the jeans finished apart from the hem :D They are a bit big on the waist o.O but the alterations I made to the pattern seem to have worked well - I just need to work out the waist adjustment, then I can cut out the proper ones later in the week :D

haaaii. Would you guys mind a chat-mooching, ticket hunting Nike flying by at all sorts of odd hours and interjections? XD ...I need like a billion and one forum tickets and I have about as much hunting them down as a winning lottery ticket. -.- RNGs are not my friend.

Yay for the jeans working out for the most part! :D At least if the waist is a bit too big you can use a belt. :) but hopefully you wont have to with some adustments. :) I find that if jeans fit around my thighs and bum - they are too loose around my waist. :K My wait is small compared to the rest, so yeah, I normally have to wear a belt. lol

Hope K will have fun in school. :D Not long ago you were making baby stuff for him I feel like!

nods I think I might just amend the pattern a little and add in a seam to the back of the waistband - then I can take it in a little more before I add in the topstitching ;) .... or I could just cheat and thread some wide elastic through the back of the waistband, just to hold it in a little better 😇

Yeah, it's flown by!! I'll probably get his bear finished over the weekend, and get that posted on Monday so he should get it by Thursday next week ;) That'll give him more chance to settle in to school routine before he gets his gift ;)

Thaank you, I was gifted the Balrog in a raffle, so I thought I ought to use it. I have to say, it is much more difficult to use in an HA that I thought it would be. XD The hat your HA is wearing is super cute!

I see we have similar taste in cats! Normally I would have the tuxedo version of that cat! He just doesn't work with the Balrog, unfortunately.

nods I tried the jeans on again today, and realised I'd made a mess of the outer leg seams - they look twisted, where I'd taken the wrong amount out from the rise at the front, compared to the back 😊 so I put those in my "get Mum to unpick it" pile 😇 and cut out another test run pair to check the fit ;) These seem to be working better, so hopefully I can get on and start the ones I am meant to be working on! :P

He does get spoilt rotten when it comes to birthdays and Christmas laughs but if my Gran was still alive (and able to knit - she had quite bad Parkinsons for years, so she couldn't hold the knitting needles), she'd have been knitting jumpers for him like crazy! So I want to keep up the handmade gift idea, seeing as my cousin doesn't seem to have any real contact with his side of the family at all now.

:P that would explain a lot of the noises I thought were coming from the attic then! :P laughs I guess mucking out the lion enclosure is different enough to make it something that people want to pay to do ;)

I'm sorry to hear you have the flu. I had that...last year? I think. the Flu is always awful. When my dad asks me why i don't get the flu shot- i'm like, before this last time, it was once in 8 years, now it's on in...six? Seven? ...that's a lot of unnecessary shots, if I'd gotten them all. XD

Its nice to keep the traditions alive. :) I remember my grandma would always knit us warm socks. <3 I was so fascinated by the 5 needles, looked so complicated to lil me. :)
