nope, it was apparently only on something sold and shipped by Amazon and I was on the phone for 24 minutes and want to put my arm through the phone and strangle that annoying woman who was just making this way too difficult. -rips out hair- finally found something to add because It was really hard to find something in that narrow parameters. Went with a scandisc for 5.79 and will be a gift in dad's advent calendar. Mum said I earned the pencil holder thing after that so we are just swapping--dad's gift will be free and we'll buy the pencil thing. -headdesks-

Yeah, I've snapped one needle in half on my Mum's machine before (the foot wasn't attached firmly enough, so the needle hit the foot), but my machine has a more powerful motor so I have to be really careful to not let the needle whack a zip or anything, otherwise it'll potentially snap with a lot more force!

that seems a bizarre restriction, but also quite challenging to find the right thing! But it's a neat idea for his advent calendar :D And at least you get the pencil thing as well ;)

nods although I have kept my original sewing machine as a backup, so if I get really wary of a particular bit, I could always dig that out from the back of the cupboard and use that one - when that hits anything it just stops whereas the newer one puts more power in and tries forcing the needle through! :P

er... well people go in jammies and slippers if that counts? Man, i tired. I got all my fabric out to find. I have to make a new bed organiser as my tablet won't fit now it has the case on and I found a hole so it's time to make a new one. I also want a tablet bag for outings--my old ones don't fit it now. I found the fabrics but need a bit before I can make something lol -pants- I wound up making a banner and runner out of a small bit of Halloween fabric I had. THen ironed on the interfacing for my caddy--which took forever. I had to make two caddies because my fabric was too short width-wise. everything fits now but I only finished a little bit ago and I'm exhausted. OH and still sick lmao

Darn, no really cray cray people shopping at wal-mart stories. I was hopeful. .P Haha. I dont really care what I look like when I go grocery shopping either. I usually look like a mess after going for a walk or something. As a former cashier at a supermaret- you dont really care what the customers wear. xD

I ended up buying some yarn yesterday. 50 percent off since the store is closing, so couldnt resist. Mum ordered a new hat and picked out the colours and yarn she wanted. xD

yeah, the new one had to go back into the shop for a repair after a few weeks (it had been overfilled with oil, so they had to clean some of it off), so it definitely came in handy to still have the old one! Awesome on the 50% off, but not so awesome that the store is closing :K

I hope you're feeling better! And I'm sorry you had such a time with Amazon. usually they're really good with customer service, though I did once have a big ol' ballyhoo with them a couple of times years back because of some dratted disposable cameras.

I didnt even know they got filled with oil, shows how much I know about sewing machines. :P then again, have not touched one since I was in school and we have to learn how to use one. lol

Yeah, its never nice to see shops closing. :) its a chain store tho- and there were 3 of them only a few minutes apart. o_O Seemed a bit much. lol

my Mum's old machine has to be manually refilled, but I think my old machine (and certainly my newer one) have instructions that say to never refill it yourself ;)

Are the other two stores still staying though, or are they cutting it down to just one of the three to stay?

[edit] I finished sewing the hoodie a few weeks ago (never got a photo done until today), and I got the jacket and shirt done yesterday (buttonholes are scary :P :P :P) I love the hoodie pattern, as it uses three (although I used two :P) different fabrics to get the effect on the front and sleeves :D

....I think I need to work on the photo poses though - I seem to always just shove one hand in a pocket :P (although to be fair, that was to hide the camera remote so I can take the photo :P)

sorry lol. I sometimes put on a ball cap if I need a shower and am needed to shop too lol. I wound up napping lol. I want this gone. Sorry I thought I replied. Hope you had fun.

Not sure if you spotted the pics I put in my reply to Lene, so here they are :P I did finish the hoodie a couple of weeks ago, and the shirt & jacket were the ones I did the buttons & buttonholes for on Thursday ;)

Pockets are useful to hide the remote for the camera laughs (hence why I cropped off the hand in the middle photo - that's where the remote was)

I guess they dont want people ruining their sewing machines and then complaining to the company. xD

Looks like the other two stores are still gonna be open. :) I never understood why they opened a third one to begin with, as the town is not that big. lol There are still 3 small malls tho and I guess they wanted one of their stores in each of them.. o_O
