not a fan of tour groups, I like to see things at my own pace. BUT good idea to see temples and pyramids during the day and go back at night. At night, they have a light and sound show everything looks different at night. I hope you get to see the old museum, they are building a new museum for all the antiquities. If you go to see the burning bush, it’s in a monastery. Get the brochure they have. I passed burning bush. Why? Because preconceived idea because of what it’s been called over the centuries. No it’s not burnt at all, it has very dainty leaves and lilac colored flowers.

Yes, that is a good idea! Hubby is retired military/vet, and I was active duty for 3 years and disabled vet. Best to dress with out t-shirts with designs a dead give away. Plus in Egypt for would be 3/4 sleeves and capri pants for you. Tourists stick out, because they dress like their own country. Especially females, the locals will stare if they see short sleeves or short shorts, and skimpy bathing suits (like tooth floss in the back). But hey I get stared at, because there is no hiding pale skin, and blue eyes. So I just ignore the looks, unless they make it obvious their staring. Then I lean forward and stare back, because they will keep staring and not stop. So I mentally shame them into stopping. I know not nice, but they have to learn I am not a specimen in a science lab. But most everyone tries to speak with you if they know your language. OH VERY IMPORTANT to know, and you can amaze the locals. When your eating in public/private and being served food, and had your fill. Gentle tap the center of your chest male/female, this means God's will you have had enough food. Otherwise, the food will keep coming or they will keep asking if you want more. Also when you want the check, take left hand and tap the middle of your right lower arm. Any questions let me know.
