I just took it as animal abuse and dead animals being the thing he is trying to avoid. I just couldn't figure out right away how to apply those two things. Again, the comments lead me thinking in that direction

oh no, I unlocked him with fish bones, I just mention for people that after adding minion it still wouldn't unlock, it took me 7 more tries without changing absolutely anything and he suddenly unlocked

I used my pet, Dreamt. He has 3 losses total. 1 against GE, 1 against Prodigy pre-minion change, and 1 against Prodigy post-minion change, which got me the RE.

I'm not buying it really, why would he attack us? If someone adopted a poor zombie pet without a house, and gave him a little zombie minion for them to be a best friends, I don't find it cruel. And pets lose all the time, why challange and fight a pet you felt so bad for you decide to challange someone?
All pets deserve love, even dead ones.

Okay, so the last thing is still which minions exactly work for it.
said for sure multiple minions work right? But how do we know which ones? That's the last thing I'm not sure about, I'm using Vengeful Undead Kitty right now, but many losses so far and no luck so IDK.
[edit]Also I'm not sure if losses are counting correctly, because it's showing I've only lost to Prodigy 9 times with this pet, but I know it's been more than that...
I'm still getting nothing, and I'm kinda annoyed cause I wanted to get him before I left for church..

My battle pet stays my active pet....that way, he gets rewards from the Oracle
Yes, it's my active pet.
I'm up to like 20+ losses now with this minion, so I guess it's not one of the ones that works. But why not? It's a kitty and it's dead...
I know there have been a couple confirmed to work, but I'm trying to figure out which other ones might work and not understanding the requirements for that part. Is it dead kitties or not? I'm losing patience for this.

are you guys attacking him? Try bit without hitting him at all or just using a sword. I was switching between that. I didn't use a dead kitten but fish bones as a minion so it's not dead kittens themselves.

I've been alternating between attacking and not attacking and still nothing. Wesker got it with the Zombie Kitten though, and it's been said to be multiple minions that work but it's unclear exactly which ones. That's the part I'm trying to figure out.
Lol I just want accurate info for the challenger guide, but this one is a super pain in the neck to pin down exactly.
That I'm not sure about either. It has to be more than those two though. Maybe something in the description? I had tried battling with that thing and was sure that would piss him off lol
I don't think it's the descriptions, because the zombie kitten and fish bones seem to be unrelated in that aspect.

So just to be clear, we know it's losing (probably multiple times) with a specific minion attached, but we're just not sure which minions other than 2 of them.
It doesn't matter about pet friends or whether or not it's your active pet or which weapons you use, right?

Gave up and used the zombie kitten, got it on the first battle. Ugh, what the heck? So is it multiple battles then or not? This is annoying.

Weapons doesn't seem to matter. Hitting vs. not hitting doesn't seem to matter. Friends/pet friends don't matter. Active pet doesn't matter. Tier of pet doesn't seem to matter.
Seems to be related to losing with the minion. Idk about the multiple times. Like I said, Dreamt got it 1st loss after attaching the minion... and only had 2 losses ever before that (1 GE, 1 Prodigy)
