Yes. I spent all my years training one pet, then realized I should have a few more (especially with the space between high tiers).

MY STEPS
-Sent [NPC] Mathis a friend request
-Befriended both Captain Cuddles and Incinerator with one pet (my T1, Morose)
-Gave that pet a Fish Bones minion (because that is what 's pet Makalu had for a minion, LOL)
-Made that pet my active
-Lost a battle to Prodigy (it may have taken a few battles, I was just mindlessly clicking, lmao)
I was also battling with just two Unadorned Steel Swords I had made over at the Asmodeus Lab, though neither of them broke during the battle that I unlocked him on.
Which pet did you use?
I only see the mass add option, not a mass remove though T-T
Friend gave me a tier 8 a few days ago only because they really wanted to make their Subeta family a little smaller.
I have trained many pets over the years and adopted them out, only like a tiny handful still battle today.
It seems to be true. If a pet isn't above tier 5-6 most people will avoid, unless the pet has an amazing name or super low ID.

there's no mass-remove, but i've found it's easiest to open the tc page in a new window, and hold down command or right-click all the items i want gone so they open in new tabs, and then close the window p;
If it helps, you just showed me a new way of unlocking him. That's not quite what I did but that means there is more than one answer
