Survival was my first event so I didn't know what I was doing. I'll definitely choose an old strain to get what I want & wait/see if I'll get any of the new. I'll need chapstick... need over 1k kisses & give over 1k as well :P I might finish the flower event this year, missing around 300.

Ah, well in that case yeah it's a good strategy if you'd rather get more strains that you like instead of guessing and hoping you'll enjoy one of the new ones. And I'm sure we'll be able to help you with the receiving kisses achievements at least, and plenty of candy hearts to help catch you up with some of the older items you may need as well. :)

And I don't remember that challenger being too difficult to unlock, are you sure you don't have the challenger already (in the Secret tab)? If it takes too much longer, maybe making a thread in Problems & Bugs to ask about it would be warranted just to make sure it's still possible to unlock him that way and it didn't get lost in the coding or something.

And yeah it may be a bit easier this time around, knowing what to do and all that. At least they're relatively straightforward, and of course being in a group you can participate with helps too (I didn't even have all of the event achievements until after I met these guys, this group is like insane achievement super helpers).

I'm part of 2 groups, sharkies (obviously) & the PSers. Both are achievement helpers, PSers are even more oriented towards that, they often chat about what they got that day/events. Here we chat about other things and go event hunting :D Two different dynamics.

I don't like any of the old zombie strains that I don't already have so will probably look for a new one. Hate zombies but like to see how many I can get before the event ends. Hope they have animal wearables in the valentine shop this year. Only achievement I don't have is taking Dr. Lockhearts Amoricide but it's too expensive. So don't need hearts or kisses but will be happy to help others who need those. By the way Maleria looks funny with a snowball smashed in her face. Too bad we can't snowball battle opponents.

Yeah true! Any sort of group helps, at least it makes it easier than trying to do it all by yourself.

This is the only group that I'm really part of (not counting groups that are just for pinging about various site info, like battling or site updates or whatever). The snowman contest was the first event that I really was active in a group for, so I just stuck with it afterwards. I like that it's pretty laid back with just chit chat and then event participation, other groups that have a lot going on tend to be too much for me. Even if it's kinda quiet outside of events, I like that we still pull together when something is going on. :)

I like both groups & both are laid back. I enjoy chatting more here but both do fun side activities that are not too stressful or high maintenance. We have an anon PS elf that would send us gifts each day if we posted for Lumi. We also had secret santa but different than here so it gave a bit of diversity. It's also good to have contacts. Last night I put in the trades a 1 month gold acc not knowing if I'd get what I'd want (3 one week gold acc) and turns out one of my PSer contacts traded & since I had another I winded up with six 1 week acc... both happy & got what we wanted :D I definitely wouldn't be as far as I am in achievements or goals without ya all :D It helps make me feel less "newbie" & "behind" & rather just one of the gang :) Means a lot ❤

- personally I like Carl's Quests. He usually pays fairly well, and every once in a while he gives you a nice surprise. :-)

- according to 's Battling Blog, you get NIghtShade as a challenger by refreshing the main page of Dark Matter Dice, not by playing the game. (Not sure if there is a difference, but just wanted to let you know.) I don't remember him being hard to unlock either.

I tried refreshing over 100 times and no luck. I wrote in the bug forum :( I'm tired & cold, the temp has gone down another chilly night and I haven't even made supper all trying to get this darn challenger.

Let me know if you hear back anything about it, I can update my challenger guide if it turns out to be just refreshing on the page (I saw somewhere else it was from playing the game so that's what I put, but it's been forever since I unlocked him myself so I don't really remember).

I know, but he is so dang creepy lol! For 's issue, if she does need to refresh could she just hold down F5 until she gets it? Not sure if there is a rule against that or not. I remember Neo was a pain about it.

I'm putting it aside. I'm still recovering from the flu & difficulty breathing at times. I just wanted to manage a few extra battles but the stress isn't worth it. I ate super, I took a bath & played with Gismo while in the bath (he likes to watch the reflection of the light from my hand mirror :) In a short while I'll watch a movie... probably Fantastical Beasts. Already seen it but I don't want to have to think too much tonight, just relax & rest.

As far as extra battles, since you now get EXP and drops way past 10,, I'm sure there are all sorts of challengers you could battle just to spend a little fun time in the Battle Coliseum. Lots of them have special drops at 50 or 100 or even farther (I haven't done much so I'm not the expert here but there are starting to be helping guides around.)

Hope you get answers about how to unlock Nightshade. If nothing else it will be good to know the right answer.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure most of the info in the guide is correct (at least with the Cash Shop challengers of course, and the other Secret challengers that have been somewhat recent or that I was able to find news posts of when they were released).

I might do a bit more digging later to see if I can find anything, and double check some of the other older challengers to try to confirm that at least most of the info is correct.

- I expect most of what you have is right, but there can always be exceptions, or things that got broken with code changes, etc. but may not have been noticed. I don't know that a lot of people play Dark Matter Dice much. I used to play a lot when I was a casual Subeta visitor, but have long since moved to questing and restocking to earn my keep and have other quicker games I like just as much with better payout, so rarely even remember it's there any more.

I don't even know how you could check an older challenger that you already have. You almost need someone new just to test whether they can unlock them to verify the method.

That's a good point, and it would be difficult to notice if some of them got broken probably because all of the older players would already have the challengers, and newer players may not even know that the challengers exist and that they should be getting them from doing whatever activity.

And I guess I'll at least try to confirm how they're supposed to be unlocked, and then if anyone using the guide notices that one doesn't seem to be working we can file another bug report asking about it.
