I don't like the pastel wearables they usually have but always interested to see what new items will be released. Probably next weekend.

Just polished off a scoop of green tea-lychee Chinatown Ice Cream Factory ice cream ^^

Hello~ You're dressed for Vesnali :)

The palette does make it hard to mix-match with other holiday items.

Viscosity fits any liquid state blobs moreso the common one :O Besides that it looks better as common on your page. You've got a color theme going

Lol yeah, it goes pretty well with my other two pets right now. I was thinking maybe turning it into an aqua one, but the potion is so expensive. I'd rather wait and see if any of the other yet to be released colors would end up being a good fit before I spend that much.

Yes, I'm leaning toward the aqua blob but the potion is expensive so guess I'll wait to see other colors before making a final decision.

I was up but not on for a little snack. I was not aware they had a green tea-lychee flavor. I thought they had those separate. Cute Blub btw.

I'm worried about the older Vesnali items expiring :/

Oh, every year I get whatever few items I want so would only need the new ones for this year. Good luck on getting whatever you need.

You mean like the older tabs in the shop? I don't think they're doing that anymore, they brought some of them back last year, and I'm thinking this year they'll probably bring back the 2009 tab again like they did with the Menagerie shop.

You'll probably have time, if you still need some of the older items.

randomly jumps in blob conversation... would love to see a shooting star for galactic :) (might get a 2nd blob if that happens)

I wanted to share an experience but realized I'd have to "come out" to the gang if I did. I'm selective about who I tell because I don't like to be seen as a "label". A few already know here & I'm close to this group.

In honour of autism month, I'd like to say I'm autistic high functioning (aka Asperger)

Yesterday, I partook in being filmed for a documentary of discussing being diagnosed late & what it's meant to me. It'll be in French and my face is blurred (if they use what I say... they have over 3hrs of footage of the group talking and it's a 5 min segment). It was lead by a French Comedian (Louis T) that publically disclosed two years ago he was autistic a few months after his diagnosis. He's down to earth and sincere. He really took an active role in interacting with us and sharing his own experiences. We were even able to talk to him during breaks. It was a really enjoyable experience. :D

Still dealing with typing pains but getting a little better... so if people write I do read but might take a while to respond. ;)

So that was what you were being interviewed for. I didn't think you wanted to be asked about the subject. Glad you're comfortable to share this with us :)

What do you know, a week flew by fast. Also, I thought Autism Awareness month was during October. Don't worry, I like to think most of here don't remember people by disease, disability and so on, that would be disrespectful.

I prefer keeping certain things private till I find the need to disclose. With sharks, I discuss more RL. Since I've started partaking in activities aimed for people like myself, I find it tiring to try to explain without divulging that part of me. Activities like a museum visit any group can do but when it specifically relates to autism (e.g. discussion group) then it takes more effort to avoid rather than just say what it is. It's like there's a possibility I could get an apartment that's subsidized in a year or so. There are 10 spots reserved for high functioning autistics that are members of a group I'm part of. There's a chance of 20-60 applicants... much better than a wait list of 10 years in regular subsidized housing. From what I understand the criteria are, my chances are good but the process is long and unless I get a written letter that I'm accepted I won't take it for granted I'll have a spot there, less disappointment that way.

I'm currently taking an "autonomy" class given by the organization (Wed nights). Once I finish the course (end of May) it'll increase my chances of getting one of those ten spots. I know on the committee there are parents that also want to place their kids there. Even if one claims not to give privileges to some, the truth of the matter is the committee knows the kids' stories more because they know the parents. Those parents worked their behinds off to try and give their kids a better life... who wouldn't give preference? However, not all the parents want a spot (some kids aren't self-sufficient & some already have a place they're happy with). I'm hoping out of those few spots left I get one... I just need one :) It would make my life & Gismo's better. Right now more than 80% of my small income goes towards rent, electricity, internet, apart insurance, cell. Aunt pays for my regular phone. I also have to pay to have someone change my bed, wash the tub, and cook every two weeks (that's all I can afford, otherwise it would be once a week). I go to a good food bank (3 hr travel round trip) every two weeks to help reduce grocery costs. I do manage to survive on my budget and afford treats once in a while, but it would be nice if I only had to pay 25% for rent.

Sometimes people just don't understand or use it against me. Even those I care about, so it's a delicate subject for me... especially when people want me to "try harder" at being "normal" rather than acknowledging how hard I'm already trying... yet they find I still fall short or do it on purpose or have difficulty tolerating me. If you think I write long here, imagine how yappy I am in RL :P On Neo, it got on the nerves of some of the women I hanged out with in the neohome forums. One in particular lashed out against me, others followed... grown women cyberbullying. Although some tried to help, it created a division that never fully recovered and the atmosphere became toxic over time. I'm glad to be here now and found such a nice group to hang out with. :)

Yep, April is Autism month. even had it in her siggy for a while. It not only affects an individual but also everyone that's in the person's life. The spectrum is so vast and our needs vary even within similar levels. Various professionals don't even agree at times on diagnosis. It's tough to try and provide support for a loved one as well as trying to get help or even articulate it at times. Just this week I was talking to my aunt about my walking poles no longer working properly (for months now). She took the time to explain it was a "priority". So, instead of waiting who knows how long to get an evaluation to get services I went out and bought two different types. One is similar to what I used to have and the other I'm still waiting for: forearm braces. The new walking poles are already making a difference... I can do things on my own but sometimes I need a bit of a nudge in the right direction. For others, it can require a much bigger "nudge". It can become very tiring for those that provide support; who are often undervalued by society. Yet, those that don't understand miss out on the beauty that is within those that neurologically think differently as well as the incredible strength and perseverance of those that support us.

The sewing machine was a nice find. It was sitting on the floor at the thrift store and they had a Bernina sitting on the table. My mom noticed the Bernina, because she has one, and she was going to buy that one until I noticed another sewing machine on the floor still in its case. I pulled it out of its case, my mom said it looked much nicer and asked if I would prefer the Brother over the Bernina, and I said sure. I don't know how long my mom has had her Bernina sewing machine, over 15 years I would guess. She bought at Elna sewing machine over a year ago and planned on giving my her Bernina until she converted my bedroom upstairs into a second sewing room and started using her Bernina upstairs. After that her plan was to buy me a Bernina like hers with various stitching options. The Brother sewing machine we picked up at the thrift store is a SQ9185 and has 99 stitching options. I need to sit down, read through the manuel and learn the machine. This machine might do buttons (need to check), but it does do embroidery and free-motion quilting. I spent over 4 hours outside one day last week. I wasn't out in the sun for that whole time, I was in and out of a Polaris Ranger a lot, driving around checking that the barbed wire fence was tight, fixing it if it was broken, putting in new posts, and carrying/dragging cedar branches to a pile as my dad cut them down. Most of my sunburn was gone by the next day, except for one spot between my shoulder blades that rarely sees the sun. It rained last weekend for most of Saturday, and it rained a little bit this morning. I think we have chances for rain for the next three days. We are finally starting to get warmer, more spring-like weather though, so I can finally stop wearing my winter coat in the mornings for chores.

Sorry I was MIA for part (most?) of last week. I was on the computer to watch episodes of Ghost Adventures while I ate dinner or supper, then I was working on organizing my Pinterest boards and getting things printed off that I had saved. The past few days I've just needed a break from the computer.

My last year working as a para, I worked with 2 individuals who were autistic high functioning and they had different needs. One needed more help staying focused on making progress on assignments, the other rarely needed assistance but was very talkative and engaged in class. They were both a joy to work with. I was also in a classroom with two individuals with anxiety disorders and their needs were varied as well. One had a hard time setting foot in the classroom until a friend went out and talked to her and walked in with her, then she slowly started to be more comfortable in the classroom. The other student would be out of the classroom for days and just stay in the resource room or would be home sick. I never worked with these students personally because they had their own para that they were comfortable with, but I still watched for the signals the students would give to signal they needed to leave the classroom. I have to say the one thing I didn't like about being a para was that the IEPs for students with special needs were never specific enough, they always felt too vague. They would just state that the student was autistic, had anxiety, or had a learning disability. I would have prefered if the IEP would have been more specific: are they high or low functioning, do they have social anxiety or a different type, are they dyslexic? Then the IEPs would state that the student needs help with reading, writing, math, etc, but again would be very vague. A teacher and I talked about the vagueness of IEPs and how it makes it harder for teachers and paras to effectively aid the students.

I had it in there but changed it for Harry Anderson :( then I got distracted and forgot to change it back to that for the rest of the month. It is difficult to diagnose. Before Emily saw the right doctors everyone kept saying she was delayed or "different" because I babied her too much. One doctor kept asking me how much I drank while I was pregnant (which was none by the way). Off to think of fun and happy things hugs

Hopefully it will! I actually forgot about it lol.

Wow my pc froze reading shark replies, after restart before I could hit chrome restore it froze again so I lost what good the restore could even do the next startup... and then the next reboot it froze on the windows four-pane window icon... and then the next one went to system repair & restore... and the restore backup date was for 6:36pm today which I've never saved it to be. If anything it should restore to 2015 👀

And omg it's cold tonight!

You write a lot for someone in hand pain, //no judgement tone// I like that. I have a friend or two who are better at talking real time but they're terrible at online messaging... everything is just "haha. lol. emoji. ok. up to you." Those are shortcuts, not replies :| I think I stopped contacting them altogether because they didn't add anything else to their replies. It's like they don't want to talk to me or just have nothing to share so I stopped. I was usually the one initiating the conversations so was already looked one-sided.

My last google on autism I think said October was for Canada's awareness for the "Light blue" of the spectrum. I will google more later. On a different note, still speaking of neurology / psychology I can read about parkinsons, alzheimers, and dementia and still get the three confused after some time :/

:O How much did you drink during your preggers is completely different from being asked Have you drank during your preggers !

Am I staying indoors next Friday night to do the Su? Yes.

I know!!!! A doctor did the same thing to my sister just because her youngest daughter was really small. She just happened to be tiny. My sister is only 5'2" so I don't know why it seemed to be impossible for her to have a small kid. Some people just don't think.
