I think I managed to send out a generic thank you between crying and seeing blurry. I just found out one of my uncles (that I saw for Christmas) died today, sudden (aneurysm). I was calm at first... now I'm speeding through the kleenex box while being partly peeved because it's the second year in a row we lose a family member for Christmas time (last year it was my grandpa at the start-middle of Dec.). I'll be ok but I need to focus on resting & regrouping.

Sorry I've been MIA.....haven't been in a good place mentally with the holidays and deployment added together. It's kinda kicked my butt. I will deff try to find out all that I can before I go. Even though I can go to the thrifts if it ends up being a failed trip, I'd still be in a bad mood. I guess I had one when I was a toddler, could explain some of the scars on my back. I know the test will be miserable, which is why I"m leaning towards waiting until Chris is back home, so I don't have to go alone and I don't have to drag my parents with me, because I'm assuming it's going to be painful to sit and drive afterwards. I think they change out the designs every year at the Omaha zoo, or I just end up going to a different machine without realizing it. 😢 That stinks that she won't be able to get a complete set. They can be funny when they are my own cattle that know to stay in the pasture. I'm assuming that they understand I'm not responsible for them, because I was never told nor given anything in writing that said I needed to take care of them. They got back out yesterday and made it to the road. All but two went back in by themselves, the other two I had to encourage them to move away from the road with my pickup.

Thank you dear! I love your HA as well. I don't change my as often as I should. I'm sorry hun....that is a guy I wouldn't be able to hang out with. There are some guys that I used to hang out with but stopped once they made me feel uncomfortable. One guy in particular, 7 years ago, thought I was interested in him (I wasn't) and he cornered me just so he could kiss me....really screwed me up because I kept trying to dodge and avoid kisses when my husband and I first started dating. Happy birthday!!

No worries Hun hugs I never expect anyone to chat every day! I am around off and on. Yeah dealing with the gov in any way is never fun. No matter what it is. I am still waiting to hear about Emily's SS. It is like it is never ending. For me it wasn't really painful (at least that I remember) I assume the little pin pricks were uncomfortable, but I do remember clearly that it was incredibley boring! It felt like I had to lay there for at least 2 hours waiting to see if there was any kind of reaction from anything. One of those poor babies is going to get hurt and they better not blame you for it! That guy really needs to step up and take care of them.

The first half of this deployment wasn't too bad, but as soon as Thanksgiving got here, the rough times started because from here on out Chris is missing 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's) and my birthday (which is also a holiday but not a big one). So I've just been down in the dumps lately because I'm not looking forward to spending another birthday alone and I don't like that I don't know when he's coming home. He keeps telling me when he should be home by and that he'll do what he can to make sure I'm not alone on my birthday, but it isn't his choice on when he gets to come home, so he has no control over that. I'm also not happy that the "it's only a 9 month deployment and with training I'll only be gone a year" has turned out to not be true. It's not fun and tax time is coming up and it's more than likely that I'll have to do taxes on my own and figure out how to do Chris's part to show that he's deployed. If I have one done, I'll remember to take a book with me. I guess I'm just mentally preparing myself for lots of angry, itchy spots of hives on my back. I know and there isn't anything I can do about them getting out. I've done what I can, short of tearing out the fence and replacing it with a better fence, but that would cost me money and I don't think I'd get paid back. If he tried to blame me, I'll throw it right back at him and point out all the times he could have come out to haul the cows home. It's been muddy for a couple months but for a few weeks before Christmas it was dry.

Yeah the holidays are always the hardest. I am sorry Hun hugs. Your bday is a big holiday to all of us! Ugh tax time. Do you have an accountant or someone to do them for you? I never could understand taxes. A book is a very good idea. I know it is easy to tell someone to relax, some times very difficult to actually do, but you don't want to get all worked up and have that create the hives and stuff. If I had to do anything for them financially, I would deduct it from the rent and keep all receipts and records. He just sounds lazy :( he is worse then a pet owner that doesn't want to be bothered with their pet once they realize they actually have to take care of it.

I knew the holidays would be hard, but I didn't realize they would be this hard. I'm in a deployment group on Facebook (for spouses to get advice and vent), and the number of people who have been telling others that they'll get used to it or they just need to keep busy is astounding. My birthday is on St. Patrick's Day. When we lived in the city, we always went to an authentic pub that serves really good food and is generally a quite place. We use TurboTax, so its pretty straightforward and walks you through it, but I hate doing taxes. I always end up double checking everything that I've put in, because I don't want to get a number wrong. Then there's the stress of 'will I have to pay or will I get a refund?' One of my teachers in high school spent one class going over taxes and how to do them.....didn't help me when I didn't have to do taxes until my last year of college. I took a book with the first time I went to the ER for the allergic reaction because I knew I would be there for awhile. I can only spend so much time on my phone before either the battery dies or I'm bored. I'm now wondering if my hives from my first allergic reaction got so bad because I was stressing out about it. The other thing I could do, is charge all the supplies to his or my landlord's charge account at the local co-op. But right now isn't a good time to be tearing out fence and rebuilding it because the ground is frozen and it's going to be really cold all day tomorrow. Well, he was just here and fed them and let me know I have a water leak. He said he's maybe try to move them tomorrow.

It may feel like it some times, but no one can stay busy 24 hours a day. It is great that you are in a group, but I kinda thought they would have better advice then that. I have only been to one pub like that (mostly we have sports bars-everywhere) once and it was great! There was a band there and they were so good! I would be too paranoid to do my own. An account doesn't have a to cost a lot and they will go over everything trying to find every last penny they can sqeeze out for you. It could be! Being at the doctors or the hospital always makes me feel worse because I stress so much about what they will say and all I want to do is escape! Are they going to do anything about the leak? Or just give you the info eye roll

I kept myself busy this summer, but it reached a point that I was so busy I had barely any free time for myself. I'd get home, shower, play a video game for maybe an hour and then go to bed. I also never really had any time to go get groceries. There are some people who give honest advice about how there will be days or weeks that will be really hard, or sometimes it feels like the universe is against you, but then their are others who give the advice of stay busy and you'll get used to them being gone and it just makes me wonder how honest they are being with themselves. I mostly just look at the posts in the group, sometime I'll leave a comment. The hardest posts to look at are the homecoming ones. The city I used to live in is littered with sports bars, but I love the pub. It's called Keltic Star and I think the owners are either from the UK or travel there often. There is an actual red phone booth inside that came from the UK. This pub doesn't have a live band come in as they don't really have the space for it. The food there is amazing. I loved going there because I never had to worry about loud, drunk college kids or loud tvs. We've used TurboTax because the accountants around here are pricey. I paid $50 to the accountant my dad uses (and that was only half of what he typically charges) because I had cashed out stocks (or something similar) to pay for my last semester of college. I know TurboTax probably isn't the best but we can use it for free since Chris is military and it saves us having to drive an hour to find an accountant. I stress out about that too, and also about my weight. I don't even know what I weigh anymore and I know I've lost some weight, but because they still go off of BMI. I stress out about what they will say because I worry that they won't believe what I'm telling them or they'll just discount the symptoms/pain I'm describing. The nurse I had for the first ER visit was nice though. I was stressed out but he didn't make me more stressed out. My landlord knows about the leak and I guess it will be a few days before it can get fixed. So hopefully it gets fixed Wednesday. My only option to stop the leak right now is to turn the water off at the meter, but that will shut water off in the house too and I can't really go without water for 2+ days. The leak is outside the house and a water hydrant that I haven't touched since we moved in. I nabbed Last Meal out of the donation corner 😀 I don't like that the DC doesn't show what I have on a WL.

I can understand that Hun hugs. You want to be happy for them, but it is hard. That sounds like a place I would have loved to go to :) I hate going out to a bar or pub or something and having the scream at the people I am with. Well back when I used to go out. Yeah it is hard when there aren't too many people around. I am lucky that I live in a small city that is surrounded by large ones. Oh no you deff can't go without water for that long. Do you have to pay the water bill? Oh yay congrats. I got a 500 cs card and a GA medal.

hugs I am happy for them, but also falling apart inside. I think what makes it so hard to see the the homecoming photos and videos (because I have a friend who shares about 5 homecoming videos a day) is the fact that I don't know when Chris will be home. They're whole again, while I'm still sitting at home alone, going with out hugs and sleeping in an empty bed (though is it empty if I have 5 stuffed animals on his side?) I don't go out much and whenever I do go out, I don't go out just to drink. I've been to a few bars that either have loud music or loud drunk people and I don't enjoy either. This pub will have Celtic music playing in the background loud enough that you can hear it, but quiet enough that you can hear your waitress and friends. When Chris comes home, I'm hoping we can stop and eat there. Yup, I pay the water bill and I"m assuming that I'll have to pay this one. Hopefully the leak didn't start until Friday when I noticed I had low water pressure, but that still might be long enough to have doubled my bill. I'll talk to my landlord and see if they would be willing split the bill, unless they are footing the cost of repairs. I know, there are a bunch on wiz tokens 😢 I haven't seen any CSC cards yets, but I did see a couple of Morty cards. I have one tab open for account search so I can check if I have the items and if they are on my WL...and also to see what they look like.

I know they are your friend, but have you thought about maybe putting them off your friend's list until after he comes home? Just let them know that the videos make you feel down? If they are a good friend, they should understand, I am the same. I like to go out and try a few fruity drinks (or the ones that are like desserts :D) just for the taste. I only have 1 or 2. Well that stinks! You def should not have to pay that bill when he is taking his sweet time fixing a leak. I managed to get a 500 and a 100. I was lucky!

I've thought about hiding their posts for 30 days and then just continuing to do that until Chris is home, also contemplating doing that with my MIL, but since the major holidays are over she shouldn't be posting much military stuff anymore. But right now it's reached the point that so many have popped up in my newsfeed that Facebook shows them to me in recommended posts. I stay away from fruity drinks since I don't know if they'll have strawberry in them, and I had a drink one time that tasted like fruit loops.....not pleasant. I have a few select drinks that I like, Pimm's, Tommy Gun, and margaritas and most of the time I only have 1 drink, unless I had a rough day then I'll have more than one. I agree, so hopefully they will agree to may for at least half the bill. It doesn't help that it rained the day after Christmas and the water has nowhere to go, so I just assumed all the water was from the rain, I still haven't seen any CSC cards 😢 plenty of wiz tokens though and every now and then I'll nab something off my WL.,

Next time I see one, I will probably hide her posts for a set number of days. Someone in the deployment group just asked people to share their homecoming photos because they make her happy even though hers is months away....well I know what post not to look at. I tend to go for drinks with whiskey or multiple liquors. I love margaritas, especially the ones at Texas Roadhouse because you can get an additional shot of tequila added. I've had a watermelon margarita at Longhorn's Steakhouse before. It wasn't bad, but what surprised me is they gave me my drink and the shaker, so I essentially got two drinks for the price of one. I don't ever want to see a 1 pt. wiz token after this.....or fairies or snowballs. I think I'll do a few more refreshes and then call it a night. Not a problem. I should probably go raid my fridge for food as I'm finally hungry and then wait for Chris to wake up for a video chat. To open the bottle of wine I got for Christmas or leave it in the fridge?

Good idea! I have never tried a watermelon one. I have had a regular one and a strawberry one. I liked both of them. Same!!! I gave up on it. Live a little and open it! I am going to the store for cake lol.
