Niamh laughed as River had picked out another couple of Fwoopers, "good job you're good at the silencing charm," she said as Irwin started her test. Unknown to her parents (and her previous school), she had practised silencing charms on her cats when their mewing was waking her up, so she was reasonably confident at her ability. She still felt relieved when she passed, and knew the answers to the test questions as well.

Paying for her Fwooper (and the gifts she'd promised Zoe and River), she headed over to the toys section to pick out something for her three new pets. She turned her head in the opposite direction as she passed the Nifflers; three new pets was probably more than her parents would approve of, but then they were still in Egypt anyway, so it wasn't as if they'd find out immediately.

As she reached the pet toys, she spotted some of the other students there, and wondered what the best toy for a Fwooper would be.

Paddy set the little Crup puppy down by the toys so he could see what kind of things they had. "Anything look like something you'd want to play with?" she asked as he bounded over towards a chew toy in the shape of a shoe. "What is it with Crups and shoes?" she laughed as she picked a brightly coloured shoe toy for him. "I see you couldn't resist the Crups' charms either," she said as she passed Drew who was letting his new Crup puppy decide on a toy. Moving further down the displays, she also picked out a collar with a strong lead, along with food and water bowls and some Crup food.

Laden down with things for the Crup puppy and the books she'd already chosen, she headed towards the tills. As she was passing the Niffler cages, she accidentally dropped a coin which rolled into the Niffler cage. The baby nifflers edged towards it as if they didn't want anyone to know they were after the coin, before one Niffler grabbed it and stuffed it into its pouch. "You're cheeky little critters aren't you?" she laughed, wondering if there was anyone about who could lend a paw.... er a hand in getting her coin back from it.

Zoe was still trying to decide if she should go for it or not and wasn't really paying attention to other students.

Dedra, the clerk came over to help get Paddy's coins back. She lifted the niffler up and tipped it over, getting the coin. But the coinless niffler looked crushed as she handed Paddy the coin.

"Thanks," Paddy replied, "but he looks so sad now he's had that taken away from him." She looked at the Niffler for a moment and had a thought, "do Nifflers and Crups get on ok together?"

"It depends. Like some people don't like other people and so on. So, there's a possibility."

Paddy looked at the Niffler again, "could I please take him to the play pen area, so I can see if they'd get on?"

"Be my guest."

Shaking his head with a smile, Drew said to Zoe, “Nope no fwooper-napping, only fwooper play dates with Suess and Flossy. You and Flossy need each other. Go ahead and take Mags up on his offer. Otherwise he’ll just get everything, including Flossy, behind your back, and surprise you with it later. I mean surprises are great, but it will be more fun to have Flossy with you when we all go to the other section of the store.”

As Paddy came along with her crup, Drew grinned. “Yep I couldn’t resist this one. He and Dodger will get along great since they both seem to have a mischievous spirit.”

Suess chose that moment to fly from Drew’s shoulder to Mischief’s head. The crup pup looked startled and whined softly as he attempted to look up at whatever was on his head. Failing, he gave Drew a confused, pleading look. Drew laughed and petted his new pup. “It’s alright, boy,” he reassured. “Suess is a friend. And he looks nice on you.” Mischief seemed to understand and licked Drew’s hand before trotting over to Magnus and Zoe to show off his new ‘hat’.

"I-I..." the teen stammered and then admitted defeat. "Alright. But I'll make it up to ye some how." Zoe flagged a staff member down and took the silencing test, which she passed along with the other test. Soon she was given a form to fill out. Magnus paid for his things as well as her fwooper cage. Zoe paid for her license and fwooper and when she saw Suess on Mischief's head the girl went into a fit of giggles.

"It's all the rage in fwooper accessories," Magnus said very seriously which made it funnier.

"Alright, guess we should check out the other half of the store," Zoe suggested.

Paddy smiled at Dedra and took the Niffler and her Crup over to the play pen. Putting them both on the ground, she watched as the Crup came over to sniff the Niffler, before running back and chewing on her shoe laces again. "You sure you could both live together?" she asked, picking the Niffler up and putting him on her lap, "I might have to get a non-shiny tag for your collar though," she added to her Crup. Happy that they weren't going to fight, she picked them both up and approached the sales clerk again. "I'd like to pay for everything I left here when this little thief er I mean Niffler 'borrowed' my money, and also this guy with a starter kit please," she said, handing the Niffler over. "I might have to add in a couple of toys for him as well, do you have toy money so he can stash some coins away?"

Niamh felt like she was staring at the toys for ages, but realised she ought to at least get the essentials first. Picking out a suitable cage for her Fwooper, she chose some toys for Fudge (and also a few for Lick and Rish as she didn't want them to feel left out). "Anyone have a good toy suggestion for a bunny and a Fwooper?" she asked in the hope one of the students nearby would hear and know the answer.

(OOC: I'll try and return later, but if this has already closed up by then, just imagine Niamh and Paddy have just made their purchases and are happily watching the others :P)

Dedra giggled. "Everyone asks about the coins when they get to the register. We have some here," she said smiling and handing her the bag of fake coins for Nifflers. "We also have shinny fake necklaces and jewels.

"Aye," Zoe said, "Ye bun-bun'll like chew sticks, and they have balls made out of hay for them to play and eat with. Birds like these toys here, a lot are similar to the bunnies. And they love millet and mirrors."

Drew laughed at Magnus’ comment about the fwooper accessory, but Mischief happily went along with the group of teens to the other section of the store, still sporting Suess as his headgear.

Sighing at once again being overwhelmed by the choices, Drew took a moment before deciding to do his shopping for others…and himself a bit too he had to admit…before heading to the books. He chose several posters: one with all types of magical birds for Paul, one with crups and kneazles for his cousin Flora, a mooncalf for Bridget, and a poster with winged horses for himself. He also got both his cousin and sister a puzzle that had the park logo and showed each of the creatures they had seen on the trip. A t-shirt with the same logo in the center and the animals in a circle around the logo was added to his pile for his Dad. For his mom Drew selected one of the snowglobes with moving images. Now came the hard part…moving figurines and plush animals. Drew would have loved to have one of each kind but he knew he had to limit himself. First and foremost he took down a soft yet beautiful plush of an Abraxan. Hugging the horse he looked over the moving figurines. He was glad to see that they had a few creatures that hadn’t been on the tour. He decided on a phoenix for Bridget and a bowtruckle for Flora then picked a hippogriff for himself along with an Aethonan and Granian for himself. From the stuffed animals, Drew selected a life sized golden snidget and jobberknoll for Pau’s little girls and also an occamy and a sea serpent. “Round one,” he said with a grin as he paid for his selections. No doubt he’d probably find more, but at least he had most of his presents purchased.

Going over to his friends, Drew draped the sea serpent over Magnus’ arm with a smile. “Since George can’t leave here and you couldn’t stay with him, you can have a cuddly version of him. I still need to find something for Jean and your folks,” he told his friend. “Not sure if they have anything for the baby though…maybe a plushie?”

((I so need a store like this in rl...well I WANT a store like it, but my wallet does NOT need it lol. This has been fun! I will try to post a couple of more times if it's still open but if not Drew has loved the animals and the shopping :) ))

Magnus laughed when he was given a george plushie. "Thanks Mate,"he said. "a plushie would be fine for Tegan. Er, don't know for mum and Dad... maybe books?"

“You’re welcome,” Drew smiled and then nodded at Magnus’ suggestions. “I was kind of thinking about books for them.” He selected a plushie crup for Tegan. “Now he can have his own guard dog,” he smiled. “Onward to the books!”

Together the boys headed to the book section where Drew became lost yet again and eventually came away with not only books for Stella, Bart, Jean, and Paul, but also some helpful pet books for his new acquisitions as well as a few 'for fun' books. With Irwin’s help, Drew also found and purchased the book on equines that the guide had mentioned to him.

“Thanks for everything, Irwin,” Drew said to the man. “This has been great! I’d love to visit again sometime…maybe bring my family. And who knows, one day I might even get a job here.” He grinned at Irwin.
