(OOC sorry everyone. MLK weekend's been busy)
"I see!" Lysandra answered. That was a clever program! "And how long is the duration of pregnancy? And is only the mother looking after the baby or is the father involved in rearing the offspring, too?!" Social structures was what she was interested in the most, not having a father or a sibling or much friends before.

(totally understandable.))
"About 164 days, similar to Rhesus monkeys. Well the mother gives primary care, but father also does help, in fact, since they are very social animals, the village as a whole does help raise infants. If one of them falls out of a tree, any adult near the infant will rescue it for example."
“Yeah well, it’s a horse so you know I’ll come around,” Drew teased, giving Magnus a nudge. “And yes, you should totally draw one! I want to see it when you do though.”
"And a wise choice too," Magnus said as he pet Drew's head. "I'll draw one for sure. 'Ey...er do you remember when Bridget was born?" he asked trying to sound casual.
“Hey, I’m a wild stallion, not a dog,” he said with a grin at Magnus as his friend patted his head. At Magnus’ question, he half shrugged. “Yeah, I was five when the brat came into our lives. Mum had a friend who I later found out was a witch. She acted like a midwife and so Bridget was born at home. I got shipped off to my grandparents…Dad’s parents...for the event though. I didn’t mind at the time ‘cause I remember they picked me up at our house and took me for ice cream and to ride the carousel in the middle of the mall. They bought me some toys too but they also got a bunch of baby things. I was kinda used to people bringing Mum presents by then so I didn’t think much about it…till Mum and Dad didn’t show up to pick me up from my grandparents’ that night. Man I was upset, but my grandparents promised I’d get to go home the next day and that Mum and Dad had a surprise for me. I was hoping for a puppy ‘cause I’d been wanting one. Instead it was Bridget.” Drew wrinkled his nose. “I so wanted to trade her in. Especially after everyone ohhed and ahhed over her and told me to go play after the first look at her. I didn’t see anything so great about her. She wasn’t even cute and fluffy like a puppy and made a heck of a lot more noise. Still does,” he laughed.
Jona was obviously sad when Zoe talked about a lonelier life, one that involved a lot of tears. Innocent as he was, he said, "I hope you don't feel like you still have to run barefoot and cry in your bed anymore now that I'm here." He looked at her for another moment, then visibly gave a shake - as if he could just tussle off all the emotions building on his shoulders. "I think the gift shop is a good idea! D'you think they'll have any of those monkey-frogs for sale?" He was mostly joking about buying a clabbert, but he was definitely interested in seeing what they'd have to sell at the shop.
"Pft, you're flobberworm," Magnus said chuckling. Drew's reply wasn't quite what Magnus had expected or hoped for. "Ah, I see. Why didn't they tell you about the baby I wonder."
"Well I like running but I do like having a real friend." She smiled. "We we're filing those teeth down if ye do get one of those beasties. It might be hard to resist animals if they have 'em though."
Drew laughed as well. “Better watch it; flobberworms are more dangerous than people think. Especially the ones with fangs,” he teased. Then he shrugged. “Well I knew Mum was going to have a baby, they just didn’t tell me it was going to be that certain day. And Dad’s parents were your typical Muggles…they thought I was too young to be told the real reason and tried to distract me instead. Didn’t completely work.” He gave Magnus a curious look. “Why did you ask?” he questioned, guessing it had something to do with the Lee’s new baby.
"Yeah but you don't got any fangs," Magnus reminded him. He shrugged. Not quite knowing how to voice his thoughts. "Guess I was wondering 'ow you coped. I went from 'aving lots of siblings to no one, to parents and... well, anyway was just wonderin'"
“Don’t be so sure,” Drew joked with a toothy grin. “Maybe I just keep ‘em hidden.” Then he turned serious at Magnus’ next words. Biting his lip, Drew thought about it for a few minutes. Getting used to a new baby at five was different from twelve, not to mention all the other factors that made his friend’s life so different from his own. He thought back to his childhood and said, “Mum and Dad both tried to spend time with me and we’d have days where we’d go somewhere together or do something special, just me and one or the other of them. They said that they didn’t want me to feel left out or pushed aside. But I guess no matter what you kinda feel that way. At least I did. I spent time staying over at my friends’ houses or playing by myself too. We lived outside of town, not real country but close, so I had a huge yard to play in.” He sighed. “It was hard at first, Mags, but I’m not sure what to tell you. I was a little kid and had never had any siblings…or been alone. It had just been me and Mum and Dad. They tried to keep things as routine as they could, but it wasn’t quite the same. Once the first year was over though, things started getting a little better. I can tolerate Bridget now at least,” he smiled, knowing that Magnus knew he really loved his little sister, despite what he said.
((Magnus is now 13, his bday was in June))
Magnus nodded. "Yeah they've done that Mum's entire pregnancy. I aven't ad a lot of time to really adjust...cos of school I guess. When 'e cries it bothers me. But we 'aven't ad a full moon either." Magnus sighed. "So whatcha get for Christmas?" He said changing the topic.
"Ooooohhhh!" Jona's eyes lit up at the thought. "What if they have, like, a miniature zoo of eeeeeveryyyyything we saw today?!"
((and cos its like an hour off--lol last stop before giftshop is a petting zoo))
Zoe smiled at that idea. "Now that, would be cool!"
((OOC: Jona is going to lose his mind lol))
"YEEEES!" Throwing his hands in the air, Jona started dancing in his seat, because standing up and dancing throughout the entire bus would've been ridiculous. Otherwise, he would've done that instead.
(( -giggles-))
"Alright mates," Irwin said, "time to move on. This will be our last stop. We'll walk from there to the gift shop and your portkey. Now our next place is a petting zoo, so please feel free to interact with the animals there. All of the ones in the zoo are very friendly and used to human contact. There's also food available just read the names of the food as the puffskeins won't want certain foods. I'll still be around if there are any questions so feel free to ask. Hope you enjoyed the trip."
The bus took off and brought them back to the "desert" location that they first arrived in. Suddenly the land shifted and the mirage lifted away. THere was a large shop and a huge corral of animals. "So we've got Augureies, which are the Irish phoenixes and a lot more abundant than the typical phoenix. Its that greyish bird sitting on the fence. There's about five here currently. Next in the corral we've got Jobberknolls. These blue birds never make a sound until they die and then play every sound backwards. We've also got Puffskeins, Crups which are dogs with a forked tail. These haven't had their tails altered. We've also got Kneazles, which are closely related to cats, very smart and their tails are kinda plumed like a lion, There are different breeds of them too. We've got a couple of fwoopers, donated by families. Don't worry, silencing charms are on these pretty birds. For those that like lizards, we've got a moke. It looks similar to a bearded dragon. Like the occamy, it can change size at will. Wizard kind loves mokeskin bags because only the owner can get what ever they put in it out. We also have a mooncalf. That little guy is in the building there. Please be quiet going in it okay? They are shy but he likes people. We have the building spelled to appear night time for him." THe bus doors opened and the roof descended. Jasper helped Mallowsweet down with magic.

Jona went completely silent at the mention of a petting zoo. Ever so slowly, he turned to Zoe and a large smile spread its way across his face. He tried to button his lips so that he didn't look so excited, but quickly gave up. While Irwin was still finishing up talking, Jona began whispering in earnest. "Zoe! Zoe! Zoe! ZOE! Zoe! Zoe! ZOE! ZOE! ZooOOOOoooOOooOOOOe!" When she finally gave him her attention, as he was sure she found it a bit rude to talk while Irwin did but his one-tracked mind didn't even give it a second thought, he started bouncing his legs. "Can we go see the mooncalf first, pleeeeeaaaaaase?" His eyes were wide with want and if he were dog, his ears would be pulled down with his little paws out in front of him to prove he could do a good "beg".
((I totally picture this lol.))
Zoe couldn't help it. At first it was slightly annoying but his enthusiasm was also endearing and she giggled. With the tone of an indulgent parent she said, "Okay, let's go see the mooncalf."
((ahh okay...an 'official' teen :D ))
Drew understood a bit when Magnus mentioned the moon and gave his friend a quick squeeze around the shoulders. “It’ll be alright, Mags. You’ll both be safe and loved. How come his crying bothers you? Cause you don’t know how to help him or don’t understand why he’s doing it or what?” Drew knew Magnus was trying to change the subject, but before he could say anything about Christmas, Irwin helped change the subject and the scenery!
When they arrived back where they started, Drew frowned slightly until the mirage disappeared. “Cool,” he grinned. Then hearing about the petting zoo, he looked at Magnus. “Not actually thrilling, fanged animals, but let’s go check it out. What do you wanna see first?”
Magnus shrugged. He didn't know if he believed it, though he'd been told similar things. "I dunno, I'm not looking forward to a full moon with 'im." Why did the crying bother him? He wasn't sure either. Sometimes when the baby cried, he just shut his door, suddenly angry without knowing why. "I dunno. It just do." When they left the location for a new one Magnus hoped for something with more thrill, but he appeared unlucky. "Well the fwoopers look like a paint pallet, wanna check 'im out first or the crups?"
