Callista listens thoughtfully to Zoe. "Actually, you should tell me more about the moors sometime. I'm curious as to what lives there! And I'm glad you told me that, because there are strengthening spells for fabrics and seams, otherwise all of our Quidditch players would end up in the nude, what with the winds they raise!"
Then Callista turns to Lenore. "If you're not offended by whiskey in tea, would you be offended by whiskey in Pepsi? I know I'm horrible, it's even Diet, but...it tastes good." Callista turns the plastic bottle into a cup with a flick of her wand and is proud that she managed not to spill any. "There, that'll be easier." Their mother hates it when she and Fiammetta drink out of bottles and cans, so Fia came up with the quick-transfiguration spell in order to avoid getting lectured.
"And Marcia, you look fantastic today! Am I rubbing off? I have those shoes with the frills, too. I never thought I'd get away with using those in a uniform outfit, but they match your blouse perfectly."

Fade () came back with a whole plate of croissants and Sauvage was suddenly salivating. "Oh no, Fade, what 'ave you done?" She gasped in feigned horror. "I will not be able to control myself! Croissants are my weakness." And with that, she immediately grabbed a flaky almond croissant and began nibbling away. Hopefully, this was what "being normal" meant. She nudged Fade with her elbow as a thank you/ "Would you like to try some?" As courtesy, Fade offered him the end she had not just began chewing on. Then she turned to everyone else ( ) "I encourage all of you to 'ave a croissant. Zey are ze best! Particularly, ze almond ones." She winked and grabbed another one, this time an original butter croissant.
"Thanks , Magnus ()." Poppy replied as she accepted the spot. "I'm well, haven't been able to hang out as much as I'd like to because of schoolwork." She looked on with concern at Magnus but didn't want to press him.
"Hey Drew (). I feel like the pumpkin juice at Hogwarts is better than any other kind. Chocolate would be perfect right now." She finished her kebabs and began petting Dodger to make up for not sharing a bite. "Where is Merlin? I expected him to be completing the trio with you and Magnus."
A stunning girl, with a peacock of all things for a pet, arrived on the scene and she smiled at the stranger. "Hello, I'm Poppy Blackwood," she said simply. Dodger eyed the bird menacingly and Poppy kept a firm but gentle hand on his collar. She didn't know what she or the other Head Girls would do if there was a fight between pets. The girl seemed to be well acquainted with Magnus and Poppy listened politely as she spoke about her menagerie. Drew looked unhappy for the first time and she could feel a bit more tension on the green plaid blanket than when she had first sat down.
She mouthed her thanks across the blanket to Fade () and gratefully accepted an almond croissant (love those irl!). "Aren't they the best Sauvage? You have good taste," she couldn't help adding cheekily. "A big pot of tea for sharing, mugs, milk, and sugar cubes please," Poppy ordered from the picnic basket. "Oh! Napkins too please, thanks." She was getting croissant flakes all over, even in her hair.

Drew playfully poked Magnus, () smiling fondly at his friend lying on the blanket. “You goof,” he said before ordering two roast turkey sandwiches with crisps and pumpkin juice. When Fade () returned with croissants, Drew nearly groaned. They looked so good! “Thanks, Fade. More temptation,” Drew said teasingly. “I might have one later, but not an almond one since I’ll bet there won’t be any left.” He smiled at Sauvage. () Then he lifted his own food out of the basket as it jingled, setting one sandwich on a plate beside Magnus and nodding to it, indicating his friend needed to eat something.
Dodger was not happy at all with the strange bird and he whined softly, though he obeyed both Drew’s command and the gentle restraining hand on his collar. () Drew gave Poppy a smile as she made certain Dodger wouldn’t be upset. “I don’t know where Merlin is,” he said to the Head Girl. “He usually is with us, but I’m thinking things have changed now.”
At River’s comment about Dodger and her stupid peacock, Drew rolled his eyes. “He’s not a doggy woggy,” he said scornfully. “He’s a handsome gentleman who doesn’t appreciate baby talk.” Dodger gave a bark of assent and turned his head enough to lick at Poppy’s hand. Not to mention he knows a pretty girl when he sees one…and can charm them, Drew thought to himself, watching his pet.
Turning his attention to his food, Drew munched on the sandwich and when he was a little over half done, he gave in to the looks Dodger was giving him and handed over the rest of the sandwich to the dog. “Only because you can’t have what I’m getting next,” he informed the animal. He then ordered a mix of chocolate éclairs and doughnuts. “Everyone can share,” he said, taking them out when the basket announced they were ready. If anything was going to bring Merlin out of hiding, it would likely be doughnuts. ()
(and all)
Zoe nodded to Marcia. “Thank ye.” She nodded to Elizabeth. “I’m sure it is, but going all the way to London to come all the way back is nee really possible for us.” She smiled brightly to Callista. “The moors are one of my favourite things ever, so happy to talk about them. Really? Oh that would be lovely. I have nee a clue how to stop dresses becoming unravelled strands.” She giggled at the idea of a naked quidditch team.
River smiled to Fade. “Thanks for the yummy goodies.” She took a croissant. “Oh they are yummy.” It looked like Fade and Sauvage were a couple and thought they were cute together. “Hi Poppy. Nice to meet you.”
“Glad you’re ere now Pops,” Magnus said. He sighed at the sandwich but ate it without complaint.
River was wondering where Merlin was herself. Especially since Drew was being so cold. “What the hell is your problem Drew?” River asked. “I’ve done nothing to you at all. I’m trying to make friends and get used to this country. Magnus and Merlin speak highly of you, so does Niall. I’m sorry if you feel I’m in the way, but its not my fault my father doesn’t give a damn about me—that Gabriel took guardianship of me. I was really looking forward to meeting the GREAT DREW, but all you’ve been to me is a great JERK.” She stood up with tears in her eyes and yelled. “CARL!” Carl came soaring out from the Gryffindor tower. She jumped on the carpet, so did Tavas and flew off. She landed on the other side of the lake and started crying.
Magnus frowned. “If I called him a doggy woggy, you’d’ve laughed,” he said.
Poppy was in the middle of wondering what Drew () had meant by changes when River’s () sudden outburst caught her off guard and she started to understand a little. True, Drew wasn’t being friendly to the girl but Poppy knew that not everyone was going to be buddies with each other either, especially when it came to mutual friendships.
She was relieved to see Magnus eating and delicately grabbed an eclair from the platter, not wanting to make any sudden moves among the shell shocked group of students. The tea arrived with a jingle and she poured a hot mug of the black brew for the nearest person. “Tea?” She asked weakly. It was awkward to witness a fight and she wasn’t sure what to say other than to smile nervously at Drew and Magnus.
She fidgeted with her pattern book and took a big bite of pastry, wondering what and Fade () thought of the new girl’s tantrum and the stiffness between the best friends. Hopefully River would return and things would get sorted once she had some time and space from the crowd. “It must be hard,” she thought. “To be forced to immigrate because of family troubles. That could be the real reason why she got so upset so quickly?” Poppy pondered quietly to herself and finished the eclair.

Drew gave Magnus () a smile as he began to eat without arguing. He couldn’t resist playfully patting his friend on the head, knowing that Mags would know he didn’t mean anything by it other than that Drew was worried about him.
He had just reached for a doughnut when River exploded. Drew’s eyes widened at the barrage of words and he felt almost knocked back by the anger. He hadn’t done anything that horrible! He hadn’t told her to buzz off or that there was no room for her and the blasted peacock! No, he’d just not liked it when she’d tried to be oh so cutsey with him about Dodger. And what was wrong with that?? Drew wondered. He’d even ordered the desserts and said everyone could share them. Sure he hadn’t singled her out to fawn over and say specifically that she should take her pick, but darn it, he’d made an attempt to include her with the food at least.
Drew wanted to tell her he wasn’t great, never had been and never would be, and he didn’t try to make it seem like he was. And what the heck was the deal with her throwing her relationship with her father in his face? He didn’t have a clue about that and it had nothing to do with him anyway! Heck, he hadn’t even met Gabriel, only heard about him from Merlin! It’s not like he cared or was jealous over that.
Glancing at Poppy,() Drew was in shock over it all, but it was Magnus who brought him back. Mags…his first friend at Hogwarts. The frown and the comment cut Drew deep. How could he explain that even if Magnus had said anything like that, which Drew kind of doubted he would have, that he would have done it in a different way…more teasing and playful…and more natural, not fake and put on and with a tone that was somehow condescending. Shaking his head, Drew realized that he couldn’t explain it. Swallowing, he looked around at the people he considered friends ( ) and said quietly, “I’ll pass on the tea, but thanks, Poppy. I think I need to be getting back to the common room. I’ve got work to finish. Enjoy the desserts and the rest of the day.” He stood up, Dodger coming to his side. He looked at Magnus and Poppy and said softly, “Sorry.” Then he turned to go.
(and everyone lol.)
River hadn’t known what to expect with Drew, but she’d hoped that he’d be friends with her. But the feast hadn’t gone well with him at all. He’d been avoiding her, mad at her for no reason. But being hostile to her when she’d done nothing, this bothered her. What the hell had she done? All she did was talk happy to a dog. She thought that being friendly with pretty dog would help. But the look of distain said it all. She didn’t want to tear the group apart. She knew how important Drew was to Merlin. She didn’t want to come in between them. But she couldn’t go back to Egypt either. Her home was now in England. She felt stuck. She wanted to be with her boyfriend. She wanted to be in Gryffindor and make her guardian proud. Gabriel meant so much to her since her father showed so little interest in her. She petted Tavas’ head. He’d been a gift from Gabriel. River felt so alone, so unwanted. She was normally an upbeat person, but was struggling. Everything was different in this country. The triwiz tournament didn’t go as planned. She hoped it would get her father’s attention but it didn’t. Now… she was trying to fit in, trying to get used to the bitter cold, to the different foods—to everything. She stood up. No, she would go back to the blankets, pick an empty one and eat by herself. She wasn’t going to force herself in a group that didn’t want her. With Carl, she made her way back to the populated side of the lake. She picked a blanket far away from everyone and sat down. Studying the menu, she placed an order. Her basket jingled and she gave Tavas some berries. She had a fruit salad with fish and chips and tea. She poured a bit of malt vinegar on her fish and chips before starting to eat. “I hope those berries are good Tavas. They look it. You think I should work on my potions homework after?”
Magnus stood up and held Drew’s shoulder. “Wait,” he said. The boy looked so frail. “Stay, please. For me. Come on. See it from ‘er side too. She’s trying ‘ard. It’s a big adjustment. I know. I ain’t ‘ad a family before I got me parents. It ain’t easy. She probly feels like she’s to blame.” He shrugged. “But that don’t mean you go too. Can’t we just tell ‘er it wasn’t like that and we’d like ‘er to come back? I really would like you to stay. I’ll…er, eat more if you do.” He gave his friend a half smile. “C’mon, please…Stay, Drew. Please.”

(and everyone else)
"That's great, Zoe, we'll fix you right up. I love wild animals, so I always want to know about the creatures that live in different parts of the world.' Callista grins as, almost on cue, Sabrina jumps up onto her shoulder. "Ow, claws..." She sighs. "Yeah, if I didn't have protective charms on my clothes I would definitely not wear this much lace around a baby serval."
She turns and sees Hollynd approaching. "Hollynd! Sit with us and get some food. I like your fox sweater. I know we haven't talked much in the past, but I'm gathering that you're another fashionista. We should be friends."

Poppy drank the mug of tea herself and murmured, “Excuse me,” ()() wanting to give Drew () and Magnus () a little privacy. She gave Dodger one last pat and packed up her things and began walking back towards the castle. There was a lot to take in from her picnic lunch outing. She would reflect on the day after a long swim in the Prefects’ Bathroom.
(OOC: This RP will end tomorrow and move to the Great Hall, so people should begin wrapping up. Thanks for writing with us!) ‼

Sauvage sat still during the entire altercation, looking at the half-eaten croissant in her hands. Things were going so well - and then suddenly, not. The issue was between two of the students she knew of the least among the group: River and Drew, so Sauvage figured it would probably be best not to butt in. She wave to Poppy, who got up and left after the incident and mentally agreed with her that giving Magnus and Drew some privacy, perhaps with River, would help patch up the situation, but she could not also help but feel that her leaving now would make the moment that much more strained. And so, Sauvage remained where she was, quietly waiting and watching.
Now that was unexpected. A bit of croissant probably fell out of his open mouth as he watched the exchange. Sure Fade could sense a bit of sass from Drew, but he hadn’t expected things to go so sideways. He didn’t understand the entire situation, but if he had to guess he would call it jealousy. Although the way Drew was handling it was a little, well less than mature. However, Fade couldn’t judge him too harshly. Nobody was perfect.
It hadn’t exactly been fun for Fade to watch the person he considered his very best friend, become so close with Drew and Merlin over the last few breaks without him either. But he wasn’t going to take it out on them. That just wasn’t fair. Instead he swallowed his feelings and put on a happy face, content in the fact that Magnus still wanted to hang out with him ever at all. Even when he could be hanging out with a dragon or someone else with a cool horse and a ton of other pets. Suddenly Fade wasn’t feeling very hungry. Setting the remaining bits of croissant down he sat back on the blanket.
Glancing at Sauvage he wasn’t sure what to say. He was even a little jealous of Poppy as she decided to call it a day. Sometimes socialization was really draining. “I’d say I needed some fresh air, but were practically drowning in it out here.” He pushed his hair out of his eyes and looked up at the clouds in an attempt to distance himself from the weird feeling in his chest. ( )
Sauvage, thinking Fade () might be looking for an out as well, grabbed his hand and said, "Ah! You know, I was wondering if you could 'elp me wiv my astrology 'omework. I 'ave to make predictions for zis month's zodiacs, but I also 'ave to draw an image to go wiv each prediction. Would you...?" She let the statement hang in the air. He could take the life line, if he wanted. Otherwise, she would understand and simply use this as an opportunity to sneak away herself while the boys ( ) figured things out.
He must have been sitting beside a guardian angel. Nodding Fade reached for his sketchbook. “Yeah, sure. I’m actually caught up in that class.” It was one of the ones he really enjoyed and was thankful for the opportunity to escape. “Library maybe? Less windy and stuff…” ()
Merlin arrived near the lake and saw his friends Mag and Drew but away alone in a corner was his dear girlfriend River. He felt a strong pang inside, he loved his friends so much but he have felt little love from Drew especially toward River who have done nothing to him. He simply couldn't understand his attitude with her and was not going to tolerate it either. He walked to them and only said. "Good day, enjoy your time. See ya later." He ran toward River and sit beside her with a smile. "Hello beautiful, sorry I'm late was finishing an assignment. I brought Blaze, Fog, Thunder, and Spellz- hope you don't mind." He took her hand lovingly and kissed it. "I'm sorry about my friend. I don't understand what's going on, it really hurts me."
Zoe smiled. "Sounds good. What kind of animal is a several? Looks like a kitty?"
Magnus frowned at Poppy's departure. Then Fade and sauvage were planning on leaving. He sighed. When Merlin came up, he said "'ey Merls. 'Ave fun yourself. I'm really tired. Ave fun guys. Later Fade, Sauvage, Drew." With that, Magnus waved and left. He waved to River as he parted. The boy was too drained to feel anything.
River smiled brightly. "Merlin, hey sweetie." Then she sighed. "I hope things work out with Drew. I'd like us to be friends too. Maybe you guys can do something together... I don't know. I'm trying, though I did snap at him. Of course I don't mind seeing your sweet pets. I brought Tavas with me today. Want some fruit salad?"
"Zis sounds great!" She gathered up her things, making sure Fade () had his stuff as well, and waved somewhat apologetically to the guys ( ) as they left. She felt terrible for leaving them so distraught, but she knew it was better than witnessing whatever was about to occur. They needed space right now. And... "I do not actually 'ave any astrology 'omework," Sauvage whispered mischeviously to Fade as they left the lake area.
((ooc lol we posted after each other. Magnus left. he's drained anyway.))
((OOC it works either way, I think haha this thing that just happened was like a social representation of Pumba at the water hole ))
Merlin sighs. "I wish we could all be friends too, I don't recognize this Drew. I'm really sorry the way he has treated you but try not snapping at him- it really doesn't help." He nods to fruit salad and took biscuits out from his pouch. "Lemon biscuits are needed. We need tea." He smiled as Blaze curled to sleep next to them. "We can ho explore after this, let me show you my secret places. There are lots of fun places at a Hogwarts. I want you to love this school too."
