"I doubt that." Lenore replied blankly, horrified at the thought. She looked at Zoe's outstretched hand and ignored it, going back to her coffee. She hoped the girl would take the hint and leave.

"Oh, I see, its like that huh?" Zoe said. To be ignored by being overlooked was one thing, but this was outright coldness. "Ye know, proper manners dictate ye shake hands when meeting people. I thought ye were an Addlebourne? I thought ye family were known for being elitist snobs?"

Jona cried, "PUPPYYY!!!" He raised his hands in front of him, wiggling his fingers like a child asking for a cookie. "Can I pet him? Can I? Can I?" Jona looked around to ask the dog-owner directly and when he met her eyes () he was thrown off a bit. He tried not to make a scene, but his knowledge of the magic world, and therefore of all the creatures and people who lived among it, was still shallow. "Er, hi." He tried to look everywhere but at her and finally just zeroed in on the dog instead. "Is this your dog? He's really cute!" Jona looked back at Zoe () helplessly who had left him behind for someone else (). He began picking at the grass in fistfuls to give his eyes something to stare at.

Lenore was taken aback. Was this nobody giving her a lesson in etiquette? Her cheeks burned pink, not out of shame but in anger.

"You're right, my family is known. Which is more than I can say for you." Her eyes narrowed cooly. "Parker, is it? What is that? A muggle name?"

(poor Jona. Zoe'll be back soon lol and in need of calming down most likely. Sauvage could step in if you want. No magic on the students though...)

"Aye I'm a muggle born and proud of it. And I bet ye are proud of yer family too? Although, there's a lot of rumours going about ye. That yer parents were in with YouKnowWho. Never directly though. Either too cowardly or didn't want to soil their precious name. Ye wanna clear up those rumours, Nor? Awful lot of nasty things said about Daddy dearest. Not sure I'd be proud of that if I were ye."

Zoe didn't know Jona felt lonely but her temper was flaring as she dealt with Lenore.

"How dare you?" Lenore said in an angry whisper. "My parent were neither death eaters nor cowards." her recently pink face was now pale and her grey eyes flashed. "You would do well to use that blue Ravenclaw head of yours instead of your quick mouth or you just might find yourself in more trouble that you know how to deal with."

Lenore's wand was in her hand now, picked up by instinct.

(If anyone is around and feel like stepping in to break this up, go right ahead!)

Sauvage threw down her knitting needles, leaving them astray on her blanket and marched over to the commotion. "Enough. Zis is supposed to be a nice day for everyone and you two are making it sour. You." She looked at Zoe sternly, though there was a tenderness in her gaze that only the girl could see. "You are at fault because you instigated zis mess. Coming over 'ere, knowing full well what you were doing." She turned on the other student before giving them the chance to look smug upon Zoe's reprimanding, "And you. If being a pure blood truly meant all zat you zink it means, zen I should zink zat you would not 'ave to waste ze energy belittling someone of zat nature to prove a point. If you cared so much about being 'forced' - " She put air-quotes around the word. " - to share ze same air as non-purebloods zen per'aps you should do us all a favor and stay in your own common room and same to you Zoe. Zere were things said zat should not 'ave been on both sides." At that, Sauvage twirled around, getting a firm grasp on Zoe's upper arm, and walked away as she pulled the blue-haired girl with her. She was huffing the whole way and in no way did she enjoy what she just had to do, but once her and Zoe were with the otherr ( ), Sauvage loosened her hold on Zoe's arm, only to pull her in for a hug.

"Oh how typical. Say one thing against Mummy and Daddy and we resort to threats eh? What ye gonna do? Ye really gonna use magic on a Head Girl? Possibly get expelled? Oh the shame it'd bring yer family. I'm surprised ye don't have red hair for that hot head ye have."

When Sauvage arrived Zoe spluttered. She hadn't come up there to fight. The girl's head was downcast, though she kept an eye on the wand. When the other girl pulled her away she didn't protest at all, but was surprised to be hugged. Zoe more or less in shock not sure how she felt about everything that happened.

Sauvage was not sure if the hug was more for herself or for Zoe. She hated the words that had been said, including her own and when she pulled away from Zoe there was a mixture of sympathy, pain, and anger all swirling in her eyes. "You know zat was not proper be'avior as a role model student, Zoe."

Before Lenore could respond, saying that Zoe wasn't the only head girl present, another figure stepped in. It was a Hufflepuff girl with a thick French accent and she was not at all happy. Lenore listened to the girl reprimand herself and Zoe without moving a muscle. She kept her narrowed eyes on the Ravenclaw girl and her hand gripped tightly around her wand. When the French girl turned and left, taking Zoe with her, Lenore didn't watch them walk away. Instead she continued to stare straight forward, allowing her breathing to return to normal. It had become, not fast in the heat of the moment but slow and deep, as it always did before a duel. It was instinctive now after the training her father had put given her.

Her father. Zoe had insulted her father and that was not something that she could forgive. Still, now was clearly not the time to deal with the situation. She was lucky that things had ended when they did.

Calming down with effort, Lenore addressed her companions. ( ) "Forgive me."

With that, she got up and walked down toward the lake. She lifted her wand in a momentary and seemingly useless gesture and continued on. A few moments later her broom came zooming out to meet her. She mounted it and took off across the water.

((OOC: Thanks Sauvage! - Lenore will be back later. I'll be away for a while so it seemed best to have her leave for now and cool off.))

Outfit Not Found Fade took his time strolling down to the lake. It should be a surprise to anyone how late he was, but it didn’t keep him from feeling somewhat anxious. Maybe there were other things he was anxious about... Keeping a firm grasp on his sketchbook he traversed the stone steps and arrived at the designated picnic spot.

Looking around, the faces of the students gathered looked a bit perturbed. Something must have happened. Drew was the closest, so Fade wandered in his direction. “Er, did I miss something?” He bent down to pet Drew’s dog, holding his sketchbook out of the range of any possible drool. Chase the cat had chosen to stay behind, or maybe follow along while pretending he just happened to be going in the same direction. Fade had lost track of him but didn’t really mind. His cat had quite the mind of his own. ()

"I did nee go up there to fight," Zoe protested. She sat down heavily on the blanket. She never wanted to be a role model. All she ever wanted was friends. Being deliberately ignored pushed her buttons more than she could explain. A bison the size of a medium dog arrived. Its soulful black eyes looked so trusting as he opened his mouth and asked for food. Unconsciously, Zoe pushed the bowl of berries in front of Lloyd and watch him eat them.

Maybe she should apologise? She could send a letter as she watched Lenore fly off on her broom. But why should she? She hadn't come to start a fight. Being forgotten was something that always happened to Zoe. Everyone remembered her pets or called her blue girl but no one ever wanted to be her friend until Jona. Was it because she was a head girl? Was that the only reason anyone gave her the time of day? She had always watched others have friends and interact. People watching allowed her to enjoy the relationships. But she was awkward and clumsy and shy. Wordlessly she yanked the head girl badge off her clothes and threw it as hard as she could. It landed at Drew's feet. Fade was standing there as well

What could she say? Her cheeks reddened knowing she helped cause a scene. Zoe had no idea what to say or do. She just sat there with her head down and played with her hands in her lap.

Sauvage cast a sideways glance over at the other girl () form the confrontation. She had tried her best not to pick sides, especially because truthfull, they were both to blame. However, Sauvage did not know the other girl so well and felt slightly intimidated by her, where at least she was comfortable enough with Zoe to physically pull her from the fight. Sauvage sighed, altogether too wound up from what had just happened. She looked down at Zoe, deciding she simply did not have the relationship necessary to have the proper talk with the girl, so she turned on her heels, marching back to her blanket and so worked up that she had not noticed when Fade () had entered the picnic area - even when she stomped right past him. She stood at the foot of her blanket with her hands on her hips, trying to decide if she should stay or return to the Hufflepuff Common Room, where things were sure to be calmer. The lakeside had lost all its peaceful ambiance to continue simply knitting.

((OOC: No prob - if anything I was just trying to find the right spot to jump in between you two, you were so fast! haha))

Edit:

Jona scootched across the grass on his butt, getting as close to zoe as he dared. "Zoe...?" He asked. "Everything...no, um, is there anything I can do?"

Zoe had no idea what to say to Sauvage. It was a good thing she intervened but Zoe just had no words. She shoik her head at Jona. "I think i've done enough," she replied quietly. " Sauvage is mad me too.Ye can go play if ye want.'

(Oh nooo I just had dinner and missed all the dramatical fun sobs And no magic on the students? What a shame XD I really wanted Elizabeth to clean Zoe's clothes. XD )

Elizabeth had just settled into a comfortable position and was about to ordner an Earl Grey from the picnic baskets, when Zoe() walked up to their little group and she was facing Lenore(). Of course she had acknowledged the dirty clothes of Zoe as well - especially the food stains and the drool - but what could she do about that? It didn't seem to bother Zoe at all. On the other hand, Elizabeth could understand Lenore's reaction quite well, having a similar upbringing. She nodded at Zoe's wave and blinked with surprise when Lenore rejected the handshake. This wasn't going to end well.

And then, things escalated. Within moments, Elizabeth saw the wand in Lenore's hand, pointed at Zoe and took a deep, surprised breath. She was glad for another student() stepping in and ending the almost-fight and gave her a small smile. "It's okay, Lenore, really.", she reassured her friend before the blonde girl mounted her broom to take a flight. It was probably her way of calming down. Apologizing, she looked over to Zoe, who seemed more hurt than angry now. Of course, it hadn't been right to drag Lenore's family into this...but then, her friend had been disrespectful as well. The whole family thing made her think of her own as well and she remained silent.

"Psh," Jona shook his bangs out of his eyes. "If she's mad then that's her problem. Sometimes we all just get worked up; we say things we don't mean; we say things we do mean, but normally have the restraint not to say at all." He scootched closer and closer with each word until he was sitting right by her. "Ya know..." He trod carefully with his words, for what he was about to say could be taken either well or poorly. "Maybe I don't need a dog, 'cause, well...sometimes I feel like I'm your dog." He laughed awkwardy, realizing how weird he sounded. "Wait, er - that came out weird. What I mean is that it's a dog's job to keep their owner happy and safe and, please don't take offense to this, but I feel like that's kinda what I've been doing for you since I got here. And I don't mind really! It's nice to know that you can be that support system for someone. I'm, uh - " He cleared his throat then, because he started rambling and his words seemed to be running dry. "I guess I'm mostly just worried for you. Seems like your awful, um...sensitive? When it comes to other people and maybe it's cause you think different so you're always interrupting - no, um, interpreting things different than what they mean?" Jona ended on a question mark, unsure of what else to say and feeling like he just royally screwed up. He should've just taken her side, told her that everyone else was being stupid and just sat by her in silence. He'd only known her for like two days and he was already trying to give her advice - when she was his senior! He groaned aloud and put his head in his hands, feeling like an utter failure of a friend. "Sorry," he whispered into his cupped hands, not caring if Zoe could even hear him or not.

A lump had developed in Fade’s throat. Sauvage stomped away from Zoe and didn’t even seem to notice him as she passed. Or maybe she was ignoring him on purpose. Maybe it was a narcissistic thought, but the last time the two girls and Fade had been together it hadn’t exactly been smooth sailing. Although, the person he had to comfort first was obvious. Besides, Jona the new Hufflepuff boy from the first day was already at Zoe’s side.

Taking a deep breath Fade let out a sigh. He thought a picnic by the lake would have been a good opportunity to keep his promise and sketch Sauvage. Maybe even show Zoe the fundamentals of drawing. But now didn’t seem like the time to bring that up. ( )

Callista laughs softly. "Okay, Noe. I'm usually called Callie, for short."

Then Zoe comes over and everything...sort of goes sideways. Really fast, before Callista can even get a word in edgewise, even.

She watches the whole confrontation, not sure what to do, and then suddenly one of the Hufflepuffs is fixing everything (which is embarrassing) and then Lenore flies off.

"Well, that was unfortunate." Callista sighs, glancing at Elizabeth and Marcia. "Is that Ravenclaw girl really one of the Head Girls? I thought you had to be well-behaved to become a prefect or a Head Girl."
