She smiled at him "peanuts might be close, but not close enough to what Lydia prefers." Gaia looked over at the Acid Pops area "they are lovely aren't they?" She grinned at him. ()

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/8c1Q3Re.png[/img] He still wasn't use to Gaia's lips touching his skin, but not so much that he flinches when she does so anymore. Eros smirked. "Nah, I just wanted Merlin to try the peanuts," he said, oddly emphasizing 'peanuts'. He retracted his hand from Merlin and closed his fist, still holding the cockroaches. Eros followed 's gaze to the Acid Pops. Eros frowned. "I've never been brave enough to try one," he admitted. "Doesn't sound very safe for the tongue," he shook his head.

Drew sighed and said half to himself,half to anyone listening, "How are we supposed to get the big stuff in a jar?" He had been eyeing some fudge as well as the cauldron cakes. Hearing Lydia mention peanut brittle, he smiled and said, "Yum! Peanut brittle is good." Looking at the Nut Lady, he asked, "Is it your favorite since you make it and are giving us all some?"

(Mags, he just can't seem to ever manage picking things for himself at sweet shops, hence giving up and giving it to Niall--his fall back is to give to others))

Magnus just wasn’t good at this. Everyone gave him sweets at school and he was still trying but he just couldn’t figure out what he wanted to try. He pulled a few mice pops and placed them in the jar. Then some chocoballs, Fizzing Whizzbees, Exploding bonbons, some Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, and some toffee. Then he just turned and shoved the jar into Niall’s hands. “’Ere, you ‘ave mine as well.” He went to the corner of the store and waited deciding he’d get nothing there. Pulling out his sketch book he started drawing the candy whilst standing up.

Niall still looked like a deer in wandlight. And even more so when Magnus shoved his jar into the boy’s hand. Gobsmacked he moved his mouth but “thank ya” didn’t seem to come out. Now he still had his own jar to fill not that he seemed to find power to his legs as he stared at the sweets.

Drew looked over at Magnus and Niall and held back a slight sigh. Seeing Niall's reaction, he moved closer and offered, "Want to pick out candy with me? I've only tired a few but I have some ideas of others that I think I might try this time. They seem to have some different stuff here from what I found in Diagon Alley."

Niall looked up at Drew. He nodded almost imperceptive. ((sorry short))

Drew smiled and said quietly, "It's okay. It's pretty overwhelming. When someone tells you to pick what you want and then leaves you on your own in a really cool, but strange place it's hard to know what to do first." He looked at Niall and said, "I like chocolate for the most part but also some things that aren't quite as sweet. One of my favorites is the sugar quills." He showed them to Niall and then put several in his own jar. "Guess it's cause I like to write," Drew shrugged with a smile. "Toffee and salt water taffy are always good for standbys for me." He waited to see if Niall would like any of his suggestions so far before moving on.

Niall got several chocolate, staying clear of the cockroach clusters. He waited to see if Drew picked anything. "I-I like the Fizzing Whizzbees. I had one once. Its fun to hover. Ya should try one," he suggested in a small voice.

"Really?" Drew looked at Niall with a bit of admiration in his look and voice. "I've never had one. To be honest I was kinda worried that since it said bees it might...um...sting or something," he said with a sheepish little shrug. "Hovering sounds fun though." He put some Fizzing Whizzbees in his jar. "Hmm...might as well try a few Pumpkin Fizzes since I'm going to be all fizzy," he giggled and added a few of those as well before plucking two chocolate wands and grinning at Niall. "One for you and one for me...we could have a chocolate duel," he teased, handing the younger boy one.

Niall beamed at Drew, noticing the impressed tone. Niall put some in his jar as well, a rather big handful. He giggled at the idea of a chocolate wand duel. "I-I haven't gotten my wand yet," he said "I'm looking forward to that." He slipped his glasses back on and read the sign on the Ice Mice. "These are supposed to make yer teeth chatter and squeak. Shall we try them?" He sounded a bit braver now.

Before she knew it they were all inside Honeydukes looking for some favorites. Most of the given riddles were quickly solved and Rosie headed off by herself to buy Niall a birthday present. He was going to get just about everything today. Books, pets and candy, more than the kid would know what to do with. She made her way to the jelly bean display and grabbed two Bertie's boxes. She paid for them and had them wrapped up with a pretty purple and silver bow. They would be her gift to Niall. She decided she would give them at the end of the tour.

Rosie shuffled back to the displays and began filling her candy jar. She started off with a handful of Jelly Slugs and added a few sugar quills. She loved Glacial Snow Flakes and grabbed a box of them. In her jar went a number of Honey Liquorice Wands and she finished with Fudge Flies. Her jar was close to overflowing with all the candy and she had a difficult time trying to close the lid. She had ran out of Sugared Butterfly Wings in her dorm room and decided to buy a tin of them as well. Making it back to check out for the snow flakes and butterfly wings she spotted Niall and Drew laughing. After she paid for the sweets she joined them.

((Sooooo my plan was to RP before work but I got called in to work. Another 10 hr shift. ))

Gaia grinned "I have one. Want to give it a try?" () she then turned to Magnus and frowned "what is up with you, Magnus?" She wasn't trying to be mean but she had noticed her friend stuggling more than usual today. "You can always try new things from Lydia's line." ()

Drew grinned and nodded eagerly at Niall's suggestion of ice mice. "Yes, let's! I've been wanting to try them," he said. He added some to his collection and also took some glacial snowflakes since he had had them on the list of things he wanted to try. "Getting your wand will be amazing," he smiled at Niall. "I only just got mine at the beginning of the term. Getting ready to go to Hogwarts was probably the most exciting thing day of my life...other than maybe when I got my horse, Fleet. I think I'll remember both of them forever."

"Hi Rosie," Niall said, "having fun?" Niall added some ice mice to his jar. "I'm looking forward to getting my wand." He looked Drew. "So ya really didn't go to school till this term? I thought ya were saying it to make me feel better. Why didn't ya get a wand before? Weren't ya practicing?" He turned pink at the question.

Magnus shrugged. "I'm still not used to sweets, Gaia. Its only been a short time since I've been donating boxes of sweets that I've been able to try them. But every time I try at a store, I get all flustered and wind up leaving. Maybe I don't 'ave a sweet? I don't know."

Drew shook his head. "No, I really didn't," he half sighed. "With moving from the states back here two years ago and then my grandfather's death about a year and a half ago, Mum and Dad said they wanted me to settle in better first before going off to school. Mum homeschooled me and my sister, Bridget, and we had a group that we belonged to in Virginia, but mostly I studied on my own. I read a lot about charms and spells, so I know a good many of the wand movements and incantations, but..." he blushed and shrugged, "the times I tried with Mum's wand were pretty much disasters. I kinda thought I was hopeless until I got my own. Even now I'm pretty far behind but I practice a lot and I'm getting better...I think." He gave a little smile.

"Oh," he said in a quiet voice. "Sorry about yar grandda. But I'm glad ya got to go now and yar getting better."

Paddy picked up her jar and started browsing the selection of sweets. She felt strangely overwhelmed at the choice, as last time she'd just bought a couple of Cauldron Cakes and chocolate wands, but she was determined to make the most of the opportunity, and pick a selection of (almost) everything to try. She heard the first two riddles get answered, but didn't have a clue what the Nut Lady's favourite sweet would be, so she thought she'd browse the selection and see if there was anything that sounded like Lydia's kind of thing.

As she added a Sugar Quill to her jar, she had a thought. "Would Lydia's favourite be the No-Melt Ice cream?" she wondered out loud to nobody in particular, "I think that'd go perfectly with those nutty sweets she creates."
