Drew sighed as he recalled they weren't all housemates. He wondered how hard it would be to just sneak Magnus into his room. But since that was probably unlikely he'd have to go with the next best thing. "Yes, tomorrow for sure," he agreed. "And if you don't mind, Mags, I'll walk back with you and say goodnight to Paul."
"Sure," Magnus said, "won't say no to the company. It gonna be strange to be in the castle... I swear it feels like we've been in the forest for like weeks."
"I know what you mean," Drew nodded. "It will be weird to be back in my room and away from everyone."
As they entered the lit castle, Magnus started climbing the stairs. "I 'ave to admit though, the idea of me bed sounds wonderful."
Drew smiled and said, "Only after a shower. And then I plan to sleep a long time!" He paused as the stairs shifted a bit and shook his head. "I'm still not used to that," he commented.
"I know," he said with a laugh, "I got caught in a step last week cos I weren't paying attention."
Fairly soon, they arrived at the hospital wing. Paul was in some pyjamas, still fast as sleep. Magnus placed the black flowers in the vase. The boys were told they could stay for a little.
Looking at the auror, Drew bit his lip. "how soon do you think his wife will be here?" he asked quietly. "and who will watch their little girls? Your mum and dad?"
"Probly an hour or two. She'll 'ave to apperate to Ogsmede and then walk 'ere. I made a quick map of the castle so she knows where ta go." He nodded, "Yeah, the girls 'ave a bedroom out our place too. So I'm sure as soon as Jean gets the letter she'll take the girls 'round there. "Er parents are in America so bit too far for that. Plus I don't know what time she was expectin' im 'ome so she might be worried already."
Nodding, Drew said, "Well I'm glad that your families are so close and that she'll be able to get here pretty quickly. I know if it were someone in my family I'd be really worried." then he gave a slight laugh. "Heck, it's not my family and I'm still worried. It's easy to like Paul," he commented.
Magnus smiled. "Yeah i'm pretty sure she'll be 'ere soon." He gave a small laugh. "Well I think 'e is. But try not ta worry. 'E's tough as boots. And Tamsin 'ealed im so 'e's safe."
Drew smiled at Magnus' description of Paul. "alright," he said, "I'll try not to worry then." He gave a little yawn and then blushed. "Sorry...guess I'm more tired than I thought. things are catching up with me."
Magnus nodded. "We need ta sleep. We should 'ead to our dorms."
"Yeah," Drew said. He looked at Magnus a long moment, again wishing they were in the same house. Then he hugged his friend and said, "I'm glad we made it back alright. It was way more adventure than I thought it would be. G'night, Mags. Sleep tight. We'll get together for breakfast tomorrow."
((talk to you tomorrow! Have a good night!))
(night, sleep well)
"Night Drew, sleep well. Glad we got back safe and sound too. See you at breakfast."
Magnus left for the Ravenclaw tower, answered the question and almost fell inside. He was so tired. He changed into his sushi pyjamas and slipped into bed. The boy was fast asleep within moments.
Jean, Paul's wife, arrived at the hospital wing two hours later, kissing her sleeping husband and settling in to stay with him.
When Magnus woke, he scrambled to dress and went to the Great Hall looking for his friends to have breakfast with.
Merlin found Magnus at the Hall and quickly said hi. "Hey, you slept well? I was knocked out. Did you saw Paul last night or this morning? Is he ok? Have you seen Drew?" Merlin realized he was speaking too fast and asking too many questions without letting his friend answer. "I'm sorry...I didn't see Drew in the common room so I thought he was here already, maybe is still in bed." He smiled.
"Yeah, I fell asleep the moment I 'it the pillow. Yeah left im the flowers, 'e was still out cold. Probly will be sometime after dinner if 'e wakes today. 'Is wife probly arrived last night. But yeah 'e's okay just 'as to sleep off that potion. 'Aven't seen Drew though." Magnus was beaming with amusment
"If it's ok, I would like to visit him later. Hopefully he would be awake and hungry, I brought him some of my homemade cookies." Merlin sat down and called Magnus with his hand, the slytherins were not looking at him well. "Should we go to your house table?"
"Sure, I'd like that. Oh 'e loves cookie. What kind did you make?" Magnus nodded "Sure, me sister eats with us sometimes. No one seems ta mind."
"I love cookies too, especially these- they are lemon cookies my faves." He smiled and gave one to Magnus. "Try it." Merlin looked at the students and smiled shyly but no one paid attention so he relaxed. "I guess my house, we are more close to friendliness with other houses, but it's not entirely truth- many do have friends in other houses but there are a few that disagree so." He shrugs. "It's silly really, we all go to the same school but in Slytherin's eyes you are all our rivals." He laughs lightly. "I care as much about winning the cup but that doesn't mean I can't have friends - I won't share my homework." He giggles.
"Ooh," he took one and tasted it. "Dude that's super yummy." Magnus giggled at Merlin's apprehension, "told ya. though if it was a day against Ravenclaw and Slytherin, we both might be thrown fruit at. But otherwise no one cares... plus most o' this lot don't seem to be a morning crowd. And no worries, I'd never learn if I didn't do me own work... unless its divination, in which case I'll never learn regardless." He started putting some eggs and bacon on his plate, along with a grapefruit.
