Merlin opened his eyes. "Really? My mom has totally normal and round ears...could it be from my dad? I know they are...elf like but I don't like being told." He sighs. "That's why i had long hair, to cover them...I may grow it back again. Over the holidays I had it real long, it was hard to take care of it but was cool."

Tamsin smiled. "I want to see your hair longer, so next time we meet better have it long again."

"Ok." Merlin touched his hair and smiled. "It has a weird color right? I have all silver hair like an old man." He laughs.

Merlin lift his brows after Drew's nicknames. "I prefer Drew than Andrew, it's too long. I like short names and if not..I make them short." He giggles.

Tamsin nods. "If I am let inside the castle again...who knows I might come for a lecture or something." She winks. "Or I can meet you guys in Hogsmade and drink a few butterbeers, on me."

"Its kinda funny actually," Magnus said, "until rather recently everyone stuck to me full name. Now its Mags, just like it was back in the orphanage. Strange out that happens, ain't it?"

"What's wrong with pointed ears? I think they're cool. I'm totally jealous of you an' Dad. I admit, I did a total girly squeal when dad showed me 'is."

((night night! Sleep well, Merlin!))

"I like your hair, Merls," Drew said. "I think it's cool that it's silver and different. It makes you unique." He smiled.

At Tamsin's comment, the boy grinned. "That would be fun. We could all roam Hogsmeade together."

"Yeah, I'm with you on shortening the names, Merls. And I was never able to think of myself as an Andy. It just doesn't fit. Drew seems right to me.

Hearing that Magnus' dad had pointed ears, Drew said, "Well I'm glad you told me that you squealed, then maybe he won't be surprised or care if I do it when I meet him. I think elves are awesome and used to want to be one. Then I found out there was no way I could be and Mum convinced me that being a wizard was just as good," he chuckled.

((I didn't realize it was this late. I should get to bed too sigh))

"I'd love ta meet you in Hogsmade or attend a lecture or...whatever, cos you are so 'anging out with us one way or the other, Tamsin!"

"Drew suits you, I think." He laughed, "Yeah the squeal amused 'im so."

Roree clapped her hands around her ears, suddenly self conscious, then remembered her hat and hair were covering them. "What is wrong with pointed ears?" She kicked at the ground in front of her and tried to keep under control.

"I would love to see your puffle." Roree smiled broadly.

"Nothing's wrong with 'em, which is what I'm trying to tell Merls 'ere. I like pointy ears. I just got normal, boring ears. I like your kitty ears Roree," Magnus smiled.

Roree relaxed a little and smiled. "Thank you, Magnus. I do not think your ears are boring at all though."

((I wish my ears were pointed IRL. :P))

Magnus' blushed and his ears turned pink as he said, "Thanks."

Roree blushed and smiled. "You're welcome."

Merlin was blushing and smiling, maybe his ears weren't so ugly. "Thank you guys, I don't think my ears are ugly but people have made me feel like they are."

Tamsin felt bad suddenly. "I didn't mean to hurt you when I said they were funny, it's just that I really like them and they are different, so yes they are funny in a good way. I've never seen anyone with ears like your Merls."

"I didn't take it bad Tam, just other people that were mean, not you." He then adds. "Maybe I should stop hiding them. Not that I am too successful at hiding them, they are quite obvious." He giggles.

Merlin smiled at Drew. "I actually love my hair, it's the only thing I actually really like. I like how it shines under the Moon."

"Moonlight hair." Tamsin smiles as she says it. "You must definitely be related to wood elves...or at least it seems."

Merlin shrugs, it didn't matter since he had no idea so he changed the subject. "Can someone tell me, how do they change into animagus form and keep their clothes intact? It doesn't work for me and I need to keep my clothes on." Merlin blushed. "It is very embarrassing." He looks at Tam. "Are you an animagus?"

"Me? No, I'm not." She sighs. "I'm just a regular girl with a little too much power that won't let me control it well."

''They are not ugly at all! If they are ugly, that means my ears are ugly." Roree clapped her hands over her ears again

Merlin opened his eyes. "OH NO! They are not ugly at all! They are pretty, you are all pretty." He blushed. "I mean..well yes that."

Well at least Magnus wasn't the only one uncomfortable at the moment and he took consolation in that. "Totally don't ide 'em Merls. No one should 'ide. Be who you are. I mean if people are gonna not like you for stupid reasons cos of 'ow a physical thing then that's their own problem not yours. Why do you think I tell everyone I'm a werewolf. I mean I can 'ide it, but I'd rather let people dislike me cos of that right away. Sure not everyone is gonna like me but I'd rather them not like me cos of me and not cos 'o what I ave no control of becoming."

MAgnus shrugged, "Don't look at me, I always wind up starkers, kinda used to it now."

"I would have to ask a professor then because I see everyone doing it but I can't." He giggles. "If not, by the time I graduate everyone would have seen me naked and that is not funny."

Tamsin laughed. "You are so silly Merls, you worry about things that aren't that important."

"Really? So I should walk naked everywhere? Sorry, but NO." He smiles. "I rather only transform when I'm with Meolc then."

Tamsin shook her head. "It won't work because when I need a ride from a dragon, I will call you."

(another spiffy HA :D) "What about tying a bag to your leg or something, that way you can change into the clothing after?"

Merlin laughed. "That is pretty much what I do now, carry a bag with a change of clothes but truth is, I still need to get dress and that is what I want to avoid. Somehow I have to attach my transformation to my clothes as well."

His tummy made a sound. "I think I am hungry and I totally ran out of snacks, we better hurry."

"The wisest words you have said tonight Merlin, we need to hurry." She smiles thinking they will walk faster.

"Thing is, when I get hungry my mood is bad."

"I can't imagine you angry Merls, you are always kind of sweet." She looks at Drew and then Magnus. "Unlike you two, both have a temper." She laughed. "Not that I can talk!"

"I hope you figure it out," he said. He had nothing to add so he stayed quiet. "I 'ave some food in me bag if you want some. I guess I should go to the owlery when I get to the castle." Magnus shrugged when Tamsin said he had a temper. "Yeah, i do... its worse on the full moon... I 'ave bad control then. That's why I keep so many calming potions with me."

Drew had to snicker at the thought of hi two friends running around naked. "that would be a challenge that I know nothing about," he said. "I'm no animagus...just a plain, average human. I don't even get cool pointed ears." He pouted.

At Tamsin's comment about tempers, Drew gave a mock gasp. "Me?" he said, widening his eyes and trying not to laugh. "Nah, no little old me. Refer to my earlier statement...plain, average...hmm, we could add calm...maybe even serious...or how about handsome?" he teased giving Tamsin a wink.
