Eirik laughed. "yeah, we do tend to get into it...I'm surprised no one has said anything about it. 'oh its just Magnus and Eirik again, they always do that', he said, starting to walk back in with Magnus. "I like the smorrebrod, the salmon is top notch on it. But you eat what you like, I'm not going to take away your choice in that matter. But, thank you for trying to eat more," he said and smiled.

"Its cos you're jealous of my natural Magnustisum." He laughed and gave Eirik a shove into the room. The boy stacked another plate and sat back down--compromise reached and tension eased.

He smiled to Fade. "Sorry, I got defensive. I'm good now.."

Eirik laughed. "Magnustism..? that suits you, you goof. " And he stumbled into the room. Composing himself, he made his way back over to the food tables as well, getting more glogg and smorrebrod, then poking around the other tables, seeing what they have as well. He got himself a coxinhas, and walked over and spooned out some of the cheese fondue sauce to cover it, then put a few swedish meatballs on top.

He made his way back to his seat, and said to Magnus as he sat down "I am going to make myself sick eating all of this, " he said with a chuckle, and began eating. So good !!

"Okey everyone. I'm going to get started on zee Durmstrang part of zee discussion. For zose who haven't met me yet, I'm Emmett. I am a zix year student from Durmstrang und am from Berlin, Germany. If my accent confuses you, please zpeak up and Millie can translate it.

"Okey. So Durmstang is located in Northern Norway. Zee castle is next to a very large lake zat has many magical creatures, like merpeople. Unlike zee other wizarding schools, ve do not accept muggle born. All zough I personally disagree with zat stance. Zee school is focused on it's old tradition.

"Zee castle vas built in 1265 CE by zee great Bulgarian witch, Nerida Vulchanova. After her mysterious death, und shortly afterwards Harfang Munter zook over the school. This is considered to be a dark period in the history of the school because Munter significantly changed the curriculum to focus on dueling and martial magic.

"In 1294, zee Triwizard Tournament vas established as a friendly competition between Durmstrang Institute, Hogwarts und Beauxbatons und last several centuries until a Cockatrice vent on a rampage und injured zee heads of all the schools. Zee tournament vas suspended until 1994 vhen it was held here at Hogwarts.

"A vamous wizard to have attended Durmstang vas Gellert Grindelwald. He was accepted into zee school in 1894; however, his magic vas too dark und he vas considered dangerous to zee other students and staff. He vas expelled from zee school but he left his impact on zee school, zee Deathly Hallows mark, vich stands zere to zis day.

"Another popular student is professional quidditch player and triwizard champion, Viktor Krum.

"Durmstrang vent through another dark period ven Igor Karkaroff became headmaster. Many students transferred to other schools because of his ruthlessness und link to dark magic.

"Since zee end of the Second Wizarding Durmstrang has sought out to fix it's dark magic history. Ve stress zee importance of Defense Against Dark Arts class and it is a requirement to take six years of it. Ve also encourage students to join zee Defense Against Dark Arts club and zose who do are rewarded with extra credit in class and passes to zee local town.

"Another popular extra curricular activity is quidditch. Ve have four teams zat play several times a year. I play zee position of keeper for my house's team.

"As I mentioned before, ve stress the importance of Defense Against Dark Arts class, Charms, und Potions classes. Ve offer a extra class for one term a year, a professions class vich gives us a chance to explore possible careers. It is recommended for zose entering zier sixith year zee term before. I took it last term before I came here to Hogwarts.

"Okey. so Melia vants me to talk about zee uniforms. Zee first picture is of our formal robes. Ve vear dark red sweaters with either dark brown or black trousers and black boots. Zee girls are also given zee option to vear a long black skirt Ve also wear fur lined capes and caps because zee school is always freezing. Fires are only lit for class reasons or ven zee main hall becomes a skating rink. Zey say by keeping zee school cold, it builds character and toughens us up. I don't know vhat zey are toughing us up for but vhen zee teachers go to sleep, my dorm mates und I light a small fire in zee dorm and keep it contained vith a charm.

Zee second uniform is our daily uniform. It is zee same for both boys und girls. A brown shirt vith a brown set of trousers und black belt und boots.

"Okey, finally, zee food. Like Hogwarts, ve eat hearty foods for each meal. Since our school accepts students from Scandinavia, Western Europe, und Eastern Europe, ve have many different foods. Breakfast always has sausage, ham, und eggs vith toast and jam. On weekends, ve have vaffles and pancakes with fresh fruit und whipped cream. Ve also serve hot cereals, like porridge vith fresh fruit. Our lunch is around noon und ve usually eat sandwiches, like zee Smørrebrød vith many different toppings such as eel, roast beef, roast pork, pickled herring, und other toppings. Zee bread is a heavy rye packed with seeds and cracked whole grains. Ve also eat soup. Most of our meals are served vith coffee, tea, vater, or milk. Zee picture is of different types of Smørrebrød.

"Like zee English, ve also have tea around 2:30. Ve have bread, biscuits, cookies, pastry and coffee. Dinner is served around 6:00pm und it is the main meal of zee day. Dinner usually consists of a fish or meat dish served with potatoes. A popular dinner at Durmstrang is Swedish Meatballs und mashed potatoes. Ve are served a light dessert, usually cookies. Zee glogg and ring cake are served at our formals und are not an everyday food und drink. Glogg is vat you call mulled wine. However, this glogg doesn't have wine. Just grape juice vith zee usual ingredients."

Emmett took a deep breath. "I think zat covers Durmstrang. Does anyone have any questions?"

I think that's everyone.

Eirik had been staring at the boy, certain he had seen him around school before, but he wasn't in Eirik's year. Emmett. Hmmmm. Nice that he didn't mention all of the classes taught, no need for everyone to know that.

Eirik raised his hand. "So, why did you transfer from Durmstrang...? "

He was happy to have made Eirik laugh and was looking at the food he promised he'd eat more of. The only problem is he really didn't know if he could eat at the moment. So he listened to Emmet trying to picture the school. He never really asked Eirik much about the place... maybe he should some time. He couldn't think of anything to ask right away.

Emmett looked at the boy he was sure he had seen as Durmstrang before () "I'm just studying here for zee term. I wanted to study at a different school and Melia goes here, so it made it easy to choose. I vanted a different experience."

Emmett was about to ask the same question but he suddenly remembered the boy and his history and chose not to ask but instead asked, "Vat do you think of the dishes?"

Millie sat straight up on the edge of one of the empty tables. She made eye contact with Magnus and smiled () She turned and looked back an Emmett and gave a different smile. One with a deep blush and a small giggle.

Eirik watched Magnus trying to choose some food. He could tell that Magnus was full, and he couldn't blame him, he was 12 and small and only could fit so much into his tummy.

Eirik nodded at Emmett. " The food is good, although, like you said, the glogg is missing some of the..more desirable...ingredients, " he said with a chuckle. "I haven't had smorrebrod in quite some time, so I apologize if I am eating too much of it."

"What do you think of Hogwarts so far...?"

"I completely agree. The glogg at Durmstrang is much better. But I have to be on my best behavior or zee portkey waiting in zee headmitress's office will send me right back to Durmstrang.

"I like it. Everyone is much nicer and it's more comforable than Durmstrang. At least zee Ravenclaw common room and dorms are. Do you like it here?

Magnus waved to Millie. "I like most of this food," he said to Emmett. "Its really good." He listened to Eirik and wondered what he thought of Hogwarts--aside from the kumbaya comment. "Maybe we could ask the ouse elves to make the smorrebrod a little more... and those tasty waffles." Did he mention he REALLY liked those waffles?

"Thank you. I'm glad you like it. There's going to be a lot going back with you and everyone else" she said while laughing. "I think we made too much"

Eirik laughed at Emmett's comment. " I can understand, Emmett. But we will always have our memories of Durmstrang Glogg. "

Eirik looked thoughtful. "Hogwarts is great, " he said with an even tone.

Then he looked over at Magnus. "I think we should, Magnus, especially since we both like some of this stuff so much. "

Magnus blushed... he totally hadn't thought of sneaking the waffles into his rucksack at alll.... nooopppeee. "Dibs on the waffles," he said unabashedly.

He grinned. "But you'd add the liquor back in the drink...right?"

"I do miss the glogg zere. At least I'll be able to get some the last few terms zere. Sometimes I miss it there und others I'm happy to be here"

Millie laughed, "they're all yours. I'll write the recipe down for you too".

Eirik laughed. "Sure thing, Magnus, waffles are all yours, at least they are safe from me. Totally ! Rum, port wine AND whiskey, maybe even some vodka too. I miss vodka, " he said, a little sadly.

Then he went back to stuffing his face with the yummy food.

((occ: Night) Magus was pleased with his waffles all safe. He laughed at the idea of him holding them in his hands and saying, "My precious my own. Magnus, Magnus." Which he wasn't aware of actually doing out loud. He smiled at the recipe too, even though he didn't really cool.

Eirik watched as Magnus 'transformed' into gollum with his 'precious' waffles, and chuckled quietly. It was good to see he had his sense of humor and desire for food hand in hand. Course, now that he looked at his own empty plate, he could totally understand. But, he was full, for now.

Magnus blushed when Eirik chuckled realising his "internal" monologue wasn't so internal. "I can't 'elp it... I'm weird." He tucked some of the waffles into his bag. He still hadn't eaten anymore but there were other schools to come--and plenty of people to offer him food.

Eirik chuckled. "And I'm not..?" but smiled, seeing him tuck away the waffles for later.

"Nope, you ain't weird..." he said with a grin, "You're just batty"
