Hey everyone! just to give a quick update my husband had a car accident today in the morning, he's at the hospital, nothing very serious he broke he's arm and neck, they will release him tomorrow or the day after, he's a little bit in shock.. I came back home for quick dinner and shower 1 hour ago more or less and I'm coming back in 10 minutes to stay there tonight, I will be online with iPhone for a short time..

thank you! I arrived at the hospital, he's sleeping. I need now to fill a few documents and to call the french insurance.. a big mess..

And with all the bad day I have again a problem with the bathhouse, yesterday 3rd subeta time it was reset again after I went there at the 2nd and I couldn't open a ticket with the iphone so I did when I was home at the few minutes that I had.. and I discovered by the post in the daily topic that I got the prize of the 3rd at the 2nd!!! So it messed up the counting and reset it! I opened a ticket but I don't know if it will help, I was so close to one year.. Such a bad day :(

- Wow! I had no idea about the Arab country stamp going into Israel! That's something we would have never even thought about. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's accident. That sounds scary to me, especially a broken neck! I hope his healing is smooth and relatively quick, and that you having to deal with insurance is equally smooth and quick! sending healing vibes

- I've seen moose in the wild! It was either Vermont or New Hampshire (or both, possibly). We were on vacation and we specifically went moose watching because I love, love, love moose <3 I think they are so beautiful and majestic! <3 <3 <3 Down here, we have the standard raccoons and possums, but we also have alligators, coyotes, panthers, and otters! :o

Sorry to hear about the accident. Sounds scary. Glad to hear your hubby has only "minor" injuries. My hopes for a smooth and rapid recovery!

moose are one of the funniest creatures on our planet. With their huge bodies and long spindly legs, its a wonder they don't fall over all the time.

It had 2 happen during the most important time for him, on Thursday it'll be his last teaching day this semester and in 2 weeks the final exam.. so we don't know how to solve it, it's pretty clear he won't be able to be there for his students..

And I had other problems, to prove that I'm his husband to the hospital, it was solved thanks to his brother-in-law that called the Italian embassy and they send the document to the hospital..

The insurance was annoying for the English, I had to wait for someone who speaks English there, but then it was ok, they were nice..

and that's the real life example of why marriage equality is so important all over the world. Like you're not stressed enough in the situation, more nonsense has to be added.

I wouldn't worry too much about school - granted as a new employee your husband doesn't want to be seen as shirking, but I think he has a good excuse. The school must have options in place for situations like these? TAs, other professors?

exactly! It's like the only place that we are legal here are the French and Italian embassies, it's absurd.. as a foreigner they must accept my legal marriage statue no matter what.. I don't understand why the countries with gay marriage are doing nothing to prevent this situation..

The problem is that he's the only one who's expert in this course and field in whole Costa Rica.. maybe with the exam someone else can be there for questions, he can prepare the information, but for the lacture this Thursday, it's impossible to find a replacement..

We are back home, he's not feeling very well, at least they gave us pain killers so it's helping him but he's mentally tired and in trauma..

a colleague came to visit him today, for now the lecture of tomorrow has been postponed and the skype idea came up, let's see, he needs to rest and to recover first and the exam for now stays at the same date and he will be on skype for sure.

- Women do it too! I've been on a one-woman crusade for so long, trying to tough it out and prove that I can do it all. I clearly can't and this year has proved it, so I'm trying to readjust my expectations of myself. It's been a long road, but I have to keep reminding myself of it daily.

It's difficult when you want to reach the limit and you know that it can hurt you but you do it anyway, life can be so stressful and a daily competition with many things.. we forget to rest and let our body relax.. it's like, now I really want to lay down and sleep but I'm awake with all the troubles running in my head and I'm cleaning the house and trying to prepare food (maybe I just order something, my cooking sucks..)

I'm glad to hear your husband is back home and that there were no serious injuries. I'm sad you have to try to work around the governments though because they won't recognize your marriage. It's unacceptable. I hope things will change for the better soon there :/

Thank you! :) They will change hopefully, in the meantime we started few weeks ago a process with a lawyer for a visa and recognition, so hopefully any situation that we need to prove anything, it'll be easier..

I hope that can go through quickly and improve things for now at least ❤️

yeah it's a humanitarian visa that connected to him and it also gives me a working permit and residency so it's good.. but costs to us 600$..

That's an awful lot of money to have to spend when most married couples don't have to do that. I hope you can get around it.
