UGH one of our dogs used to bark at the most ridiculous shit! So so annoying. My mom had to put her kitty to sleep recently and she was saying the other day how maybe she should get a dog instead. So I stood there and barked for a minute. She changed her mind. LMAO

- if I remember correctly they just stay under your tree and I don't think you even need to wait until next year, you can open your tree anytime if you can find the link (unless of course they've changed things with all their updating) - do you happen to know for sure what happens to unopened Luminaire tree gifts?

- ouch! Cellphone data is easy to use up. That's one of the reasons why I still don't even have a smartphone (or even texting) on my cell phone - even though I actually wrote a small piece of the software for the first release of cellphone service in the US. LOL I hope that your internet stays functional and you have less load on your phone. Even though I do really love to read, I don't think I would survive a full day without internet access, much less months! Especially when you consider that now if the internet goes out, so does TV and house phone. I really liked it much better when those things were all separate (sigh). Here's hoping you can visit Subeta (and the rest of the internet) anytime you feel like it for the rest of this year and all of the new year.

- no, they're still around. I actually got one with this post. They seem to be using some sort of algorithm to try and give more weight to real conversations between users. I've noticed that my Battle Chat posts were often rewarded, for example.

Man that sucks about the cellphone data and just the internet in general! D: We had a weekend where the internet was out for almost 48 hours and it was like... D: HOLY SHIT! Lol, never realized just how much we've come to rely on it. I am super lucky though, I've been grandfathered into an old unlimited data plan with ATT so I still had that access.... but there were so many times where I meant to go do something on the computer only to realize, "Wait, need internet for that." XD

The peppermint swirl cookies look similar to the pinwheel cookies I made, except mine had chocolate flavored dough along with peppermint. I still need to get around to baking the rest of the cookie dough I have. Its been too cold outside to motivate me to do much. Maybe today or tomorrow.

The dog that was three doors down, was almost always tied up outside in the front yard, so I don't know if the owners got tired of it barking inside, so they put it outside for part of the day to not deal with it. The duplex I lived in was pretty soundproof, until you opened a window. But that dog's bark was shrill enough to be heard inside. The other dog was right across the street and it seemed like the owner always put it outside when I got home from work. There were two dogs at that house, a Shih Tzu looking dog and an Australian Cattle Dog (the Australian Cattle Dog never barked at all). The dogs weren't the only sound issue we had though. Living in a college town, we had to put up with concerts and open mic night from the bars in Aggieville (the hot spot near campus for students). We lived a mile away from Aggieville, but could hear those concerts as if we were at the venue.

I am too. Ruger will be staying inside again tonight and tomorrow night, because windchills are supposed to be dangerously low due to a cold front moving in. I don't mind the cold weather so much, but if its going to be this cold, I want some snow. It snowed Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, but its melted away now.

It is difficult to find some things on my profile. I've been looking at the free ones on Subetalodge, and I've found a few, just not sure if I like them enough to change my profile and redo the layout.

I did, though Christmas Eve at the in-laws was a little long because we sat around for over an hour after dinner talking. I'm not one for making small talk during conversations so I didn't enjoy it, and at one point there were two or three conversations going on at once. Christmas with my parents was great. There was a little issue with the ham because it was too large to fit in a roaster, so slices were cut out to fry, then it was cut in half. Half went in a roaster and the other half went back in the freezer. Chris and I got most of the ham to take home because my mom didn't like how salty it was (it was a cured ham).

It's very annoying when you don't know why the dog is barking at something or what its barking at. Luckily Ruger doesn't bark at anything yet, though she did bark while some carolers were singing on Christmas Eve. My grandmother's dog barks at the cattle because she doesn't like them being close to the house. The most a cat will do is yowl when there food is empty or they feel lonely (my parents' cat will walk through the house yowling if he thinks he is all alone). When my first dog passed away, I wanted to get another dog, but didn't because my parents didn't want another dog. But if my cat passes away, I'll get another cat (I've got three kittens outside that adore attention), because honestly I'm more of a cat person than a dog person. A cat will always fit in your lap. Ruger can no longer fit in my lap but she tries and attempts to like my face the whole time.

I've only gotten one forum gift box so far and got a beanbag that I already had. [edit] Just got another one, so the forum gift boxes are still around.

My brother's cat, Gremlin, makes the funniest little "brip" type sounds instead of meowing. It's sooooo cute, sometimes when we are all talking on headset we can hear her in the background. "Brip, brip, brpbrpbrpbrip!" XD I dunno if that's even a good way to type out the sound... <_<

I use a little kitchen timer, which I can move around the house to whichever room I'm in, because I will be doing cleaning, laundry, fish tank, etc, so hopefully that will help. Got 1 good thing and a bunch of OK stuff so far. Happy birthday!

Thanks for the explanation & picture. I knew the group formed for an event but didn't know which one... thought it might be survival with the shark skin.

It's my first year here so I wasn't here when the group formed. I met some of the members on the forum boards during survival (my 1st event) and had such a lovely time chatting I just followed them back to the coral reefs and grew some fins ;)

Been helping neighbour decorate his place (I suggest & he implements). It's nice to feel useful & be creative. Managed to wash a mega huge amount of dishes, do a load of laundry & go to the library to get 5 movies. The temp has gone down & will stay down for over a week... around -20C (-3F) to -28C(-19F). Luckily, I have 3 coats that layer inside each other, super warm snow mitts, and windbreaker pants... I was fine, cheeks got a bit cold but I can't put my scarf on them since my glasses will fog up. Soups & hot cocoa are great during these cold times. Thinking of which... I'm due for a movie & it'll be great with some hot cocoa, pomegranate seeds & maybe some popcorn.
