- it's definitely more fun when people are nice to each other - and Subeta seems to be a very good place to find that. But Team Nature was spectacular. I still remember the commotion when "outsiders" showed up on our team forum - and they were saying nice things to us - and then we responded, and some of us visited their board - and then they started sending anonymous gifts! We had such a great and friendly competition for third and fourth place. And we got such gracious messages (and more gifts!) when our team edged them out at the end. Honestly, it was so amazing having that friendly competition, I would have been just as happy if they had been ahead when we finished. Especially with the glitch and some people being upset about cheating (whether it actually happened or not), it was just so wonderful to have that team vs team friendship.

- you may not have intended to be a team leader, but you certainly were one. I have never liked Oregon Trails (and still don't - to be very honest I seriously dislike everything about Oregon Trails) but the team cooperation was fantastic and you were a big part of getting everyone informed and organized. I would never have guessed that you weren't expecting to be our leader - or that you hadn't done the same thing dozens of times for other events. I really appreciated how well everyone on that team was able and willing to work together (and it really showed in our results), as well as how much support and encouragement was given to all the team members - even those who could only give a little. Every single contribution got positive comments and support. But oh - most of us got so tired of playing that silly food hunting game! Thank goodness for Elwood and pizza! :-)

So glad you are chatting now so that I have the pleasure of getting to know you better.

By the way, just a guess, but I think the weapon snowballs were probably around before the throwing ones and just weren't considered to be part of the new activity since they already had a use.

I was pretty active during the snowman event as well, but that didn't really need a guide or leadership. It was pretty much just throw everything you can into this thing and hope for the best. I do like helping people though, so I guess it wasn't too hard to transition the thread into something bigger. I remember you giving some helpful tips and things too, and other members' suggestions helped me organize the first post and stuff too with important information. It was definitely a team effort, and I'm so glad our team never really lost hope even on the legs we didn't win. I heard that Team Saggi had some issues with members not participating as much, so I'm happy that we had an active team! Although I was also pretty glad when Elwood showed up to put an end to the trail portion of the event. It was fun while it lasted, but after four of them it was getting a bit tedious.

And you're probably right about the snowball thing!

~ I was a big lurker too, but not as active. I can remember how surprised I was that you were on Team Blake, because I recognized your name. I always find it neat when I interact with people I see frequently on the forums during big events.

Haha, that's kind of fun for me too! There are a lot of people whose usernames I recognize from seeing them on the forums, but I don't really talk to them regularly. So it is pretty neat to interact with the people you see around but just haven't like officially met.

Team Blake was the best though, super glad I joined that team. I wanted to from the beginning just because it was Blake, the promise of extra money from Saggi wasn't tempting enough for me. :P
