The other day I was driving home from work and looked up when I was stopped at a light to see thousands of crows. For the few minutes I sat at that light and the few minutes it took to drive 5 miles or so down the road, the sky was filled with crows. I didn't even know they migrated, but apparently they do and I happened to see it. It was amazing, really. I tried to take a picture, but it just looked like the sky was filled with pepper. I've never seen so many before.

i live in a small town in brazil, here are the animals i normally see:
saffron finches, everywhere all the time everyday, they are especially noisy in the morning.
smooth-billed ani and seriemas, not so common in town, more common in the countryside but i've seen a few here
a few other small birds i dont know the names of... sorry
lots of hawks, no doubt eating all the little birds
vultures, owls, bats, two bats already invaded my house too
there's also bugs everywhere, bees, beetles, flying ants and termites are running rampant during the hot rainy season right now

I live in an area with lots of forests, wetlands and rivers. Lately I've seen sadly just a lot of squirrels since I work during the daylight hours. But I did see an adorable chipmunk at my parents house a couple weeks ago, also lots of hawks. And of course your typical groupings of crows & woodpeckers.

so I saw a rat on the NY subway tracks yesterday on my way home, does that count

But before that, I saw an olive-backed sunbird and a couple giant lizards in Singapore! That was much more delightful.

Today, a roadrunner walked across my front yard. Other than that, just buzzards and hawks in the sky. Last week one of the hawks got one of my chickens. :/

Very cool, I have never heard of those birds before so i had to look to look them up. I've always wanted to visit brazil to see the animals which I bet a lot of people do. Do you let the bats live with you or try to get them out?

That sounds scary! Does it happen often? I don't know much about coyotes though.

These days all I see are small birds like chickadees, and these enormous crows which hang out in packs, make different cawing and guzzling noises in their own language, and dig through the garbage. They're very interesting and intelligent, I would like to spend a day studying them if it weren't so cold outside, and am so tempted to feed them and become the crazy crow lady.

when a bat gets in the house i try to lead them outside, they seem extremelly disoriented inside here, and keep flying into walls and things, they could get hurt. and i dont want them inside my house either for the possibility of them carrying any disease, i normally dont want to let even wild birds come in because i have a pet cockatiel which could get diseases from them, but the birds are generally a lot more shy so they dont try to get inside

edit: now that i'm thinking about cockatiels, there's also another species of wild birds i see often that i forgot to mention, i dont know what they're called in english but i searched it up and the scientific name is Pionus sordidus, they are like wild parrots, lutino(my cockatiel) freaks out screaming whenever a flock of them flies by, and sometimes she will jump out of her cage and try to fly out the window, i keep imagining that she wants to go with them and be a wild parrot... that silly bird XD i've lived out in the countryside before moving into town and there's also snakes out there, but i've never seen a single one in town so i didnt mention them because of that, not very common at all but people have died from snake bites

Those are pretty! I like that little bit of red on their tail. I imagine your cockatiel might feel like all the cool kids are passing by haha. You'll do better with dinner every night and a safe roof over your head sweetie! :)

They terrify me. They have a distinct bark and cry. They also will kill and eat cats and dogs.

i saw a dark-eyed junco today on my way to the car, which was odd since i haven't seen any in the new city i'm living in before. i used to see them infrequently, maybe around once a week, in the small town i lived before, but since this is a much larger city i didn't expect to see anything but sparrows and pigeons! :D

On the dive I did last weekend we saw upwards of seven or eight good sized lionfish, a mantis shrimp (one of my favorite sea critters!) and a couple hermit crabs, along with lots of fish, of course :)

I saw a Jack Rabbit today while I was on delivery. I also have a murder of crows that I feed in my front yard, They usually show up for a few months every year starting in January. Sometimes I watch them drop nuts in the street and wait for cars to run them over so they dont have to work as hard for the goods lol.
