Saw a fawn while walking my dog this morning. SO CUTE!

I saw a red tailed fox in my backyard last time I was visiting my parents. It was such a cool thing to see! FYI, this was in middle Georgia.
the hummingbird moth is BEAUTIFUL!

I work at a garden center, lots of baby birds this time of year! Nearly stepped on one yesterday!
💋
I planted zinnias in my front flower bed about a month ago, and now American Goldfinches are landing on them and ripping out their petals. They started with the yellow flowers.
"Nooo, I must be the most yellow thing in your yard!"
They are cute though.
I'm not 100% sure if it counts, but I have this crazy squirrel in my back yard. I like to sit out there and drink coffee in the mornings, and he'll come stand on a limb and stare straight at me. He'll start barking at me, it's super funny.
..I hope he doesn't have rabies.
I rescued a female map turtle from the middle of the road today. She was very cute. Scratched the hell out of my hands with her claws before I could get her to the marsh it looked like she was headed to, but totally worth it. She skedaddled like hell into the reeds when I let her go.
Crows Ducks Frogs Lizards Opossums Rabbits Snakes
I live in Murrieta, Ca.
There's a Western scrub jay that lives near my home. His wing was broken by a cat and I rescued him. He healed and he's wild, but he trusts me enough to come close to him. I call him Lefty because his right wing is still all scraggly - but he can fly.
Today Lefty and his (maybe hers, gender is impossible to tell) offspring were digging through my gutters. He always chirps at me when I step outside. I think he's saying hello.
got a fox fast asleep in my garden as we speak...
Not too long ago I saw a doe on the trail I walk on all the time! ^-^ My one cat is an avid hunter, so I've seen dozens of (dead) chipmunks, birds, voles, and mice. (He doesn't waste a thing.)
I haven't been on in a couple months and having this to come back and read is awesome. Love my animal lovers on here!
Where I live now wild animals are few and far between. Lots of magpies, little birds, and now moose who will walk into the middle of town and hold up traffic whenever they want. I've only seen a big gal moose eating off a tree and had to cross the road to avoid walking inches away from her, as they can be dangerous. ?
I lived in an area where foxed reportedly live but have never seen one. I wonder if they are super shy and selective about who they appear to?
garden centers are the best ever - it's like having vip status in seeing some wildlife most people never get to. Enjoy your job!
Unicorns. not much really since I've moved to the city x.x Canadian Geese and a racoon on occasion. lol racoon are so cute XD
I actually saw a pair of wild rabbits hopping about recently and they just made my day. SO ADORABLEEE. O
Saw a magpie flying around the public library today. Kept squawking and flying shelf to shelf. Hope it finds it's way out.
Well, now it's getting closer to winter so not so many birds, snakes or lizards. There are two hummingbirds that stay year round though and the ravens, house finches and mocking birds are still around. Still got the cottontails hoping around along with an occasional squirrel. There have been more coyotes out than usual but I think that it has to do with all the big fires we had over the summer so all their food sources moved to places that weren't burnt up. There are also Say's phoebe (flycatchers) about. They have soft calls and are fun to watch when catching flying bugs.
I really enjoy reading about all the different wildlife that people have around them. We don't have deer where I am, nor cardinals, bears or Moose and only rarely do I get to see an eagle, so when I read other peoples experiences with wildlife I don't see here I think it's neat to learn about what these animals do and or look like.
Thank you for creating this thread. :)
There have been lots of foxes around here lately. I saw one last night just standing around fearlessly at the edge of the road. I also recently saw a hare (running across the road).
Cleared by staff - maximum height is 325px.
A cute little beaver came up on shore and started munching on something in the grass by a lake at a large park in the city. I'd seen the same one swimming around before but had not been so close to it before.
I also saw a chicken at the park. The zoo nearby has a petting zoo. I wonder if it escaped, lol.
Been seeing two ospreys outside of work every day. They both have preferred trees, and they will stay perched in the same spot for hours. Sometimes I see them with fish. I also see hawks around my house almost every day. I love birds of prey. I also get the occasional flock of wild turkey on the way to work in the early mornings.
Other than that, lots of squirrels and bunnies.
