I know this topic is a few days old, but I've just been forced to quit an incredible pet site that the owner quite literally up and quit on without granting any of his colleagues ownership access, meaning no one could do anything to the site or even pay to keep it open.
Having just been through that, seeing rumors - however baseless - that Keith may be losing interest is making me very upset. I would really appreciate having that addressed.
Rest assured - Keith has not lost interest. He is still super active behind the scenes.
Re: Pusher.com issue - it is not that we are ignoring it, or that it isn't critical, but it is hard to fix something that we cannot reproduce or test. I do notice that the wheel spins for quite a bit on Firefox, but that is not an issue for me on Chrome or Safari. The content is there, but the wheel just continues for a few more seconds. Is anyone having issues where the content is not loading?
The content is loading fine and very quick, I noticed that it's happening in pages with a lot of items and since then it's just won't stop the circle.. so probably it's the hovers, with the events now it's fine (after the fix few days ago). do you know if the problem is from firefox side? can we know what pusher support is suggesting please?
the wheel spins and gets to the point where firefox freezes constantly and clicks take awhile to do anything. this happens quicker if you do quests, continually opening and closing tabs makes it do this faster. if you want to experience it to the full extent, try doing a full set of quests on firefox. it gets better if you close the browser and restart it, but having to do that midway through quests a few times is really annoying.
Thank you so, so much for that. I know a lack of interaction with the forums doesn't mean anything, but it was still really unsettling to see that being said.
As for pusher.com, I'm -assuming- that's the issue I'm having but I'm not entirely sure. I'm on a Mac, using Firefox (although I swapped over to Chrome recently since I couldn't have adblock on and use the wardrobe at the same time - not 100% sure if that's its own issue or one of my custom filters), and occasionally, I get a 504 bad server error that blocks me out of the site for anywhere from 30 seconds to two minutes.
Sometimes the wheel never stops spinning for me, especially after spending a lot of time on the site. I just blocked it and the pages are loading a lot faster and the wheel finally stops. I didn't even the script was the issue here until I saw this thread today. I don't think I can stand to keep it blocked if that's how we get the hover stuff.
the 504s are a separate issue completely, that's an issue on subeta's side, stemming from some changes that need to be made to the servers so they work with the new servers since the migration.
What you need to do is play on Subeta using Firefox for at least an hour, focusing on quests. Be a typical user and you can reproduce all the errors we have been reporting since May.
: I just completed 10 Wizard quests in under 5 minutes on Firefox. I did not see an issue or lag on any of them. :/ Will reset my count and try again but it is difficult to replicate.
: Interesting point. I just loaded a few shops with a lot of items stocked and the wheel is spinning for a bit... Going to see if there is a request that is being pulled for every item... that might have something to do with it.
Re: 504 issues - I have not seen one. How often are they happening? Any overzealous firewalls or programs running?
I'll get the pusher stuff on big site shops too. CW pawn shop, quest shop, and Cash Shop are all horribly laggy. During Survival the shops there were bad too.
But it's not always stores. I'll leave my browser open and have Subeta up on like the news page, go to work, and come back 10hrs later and the page will still be spinning.

: Yeah, I just saw the page that I had loaded when I looking before on Firefox still had the spinning wheel.
I am searching through a bunch of sites to see if any other programmers/sites have issues with it and it seems to be pretty common across Firefox. One recommendation is to hit the ESC key and Firefox will stop loading the page. Might be worthwhile to hit that if you come across a large shop/page with a lot of images (until we can come up with a better solution).
re/ large shops I'm on safari, and I seem to run into most of my 504/502 errors while trying to autoprice? It never actually finished yesterday and it took a long time to autoprice this morning, but I have a pretty large shop (10k+ items), so I'm probably an outlier. But I also got a pm from someone who said "Trying to buy from your shop actually FREEZES my computer. [I thought it was my laptop so] I restarted it multiple times. Nope. it was your shop." So I don't know what to think about that, other than I maybe shouldn't try for the rest of the super shop achievements :?
Can it be the push notifications of firefox that causing a conflict with pusher.com? I commented you about it with few actions that I did.
so I got through about 30 quests before the freezing started after closing and reopening my browser. I can still finish 15 quests in less than 5 minutes very easily, but switching tabs and even typing this, it freezes for a second or two at a time which is just really annoying. pressing escape stops the spinning wheel, but the spinning wheel is only a visual thing, it does nothing to stop the freezing tabs. that will only be temporarily fixed when I close out my browser and reopen it
: Likely/potentially.
: If you are receiving the message when autopricing, it could be that there are too many items. We continue to try to optimize the script as much as we can, but the sheer volume can bog it down.
I understand, I'll try to do my own research about it, I'll let you know if I find any solution..
about the 504, it happens only when you get the wizard buff.. there is a problem with this one.. sorry that I didn't tell you before "^_^
: Ok - cool. Let me look into that. It seems like an isolated/consistent issue so it might be something on the script.
W/re to 504 issues, it's usually just while I'm going about my day (I also get them on other sites, but those tend to last a lot longer. It's as though something about the site is confusing Firefox into thinking it's getting a legitimate 504 situation for short periods of time). I've been working on some new pets lately, so lately, it's been happening while trying to submit pet profiles, but I've also gotten them just opening up the news page in a new tab.
I accidentally broke Firefox and had to uninstall it this morning, so I can't test it anymore, unfortunately.
