Actually, I think this is pretty interesting. I just looked up the thread where the coding drive was brought up. It was discussed nearly a year ago. And again, little has changed. The idea was suggested so a recode could finally be funded... and a year later, coding issues are still a huge problem. Subeta cycle man.
[Edit]
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!
Subeta even agrees that it wants a recode. LOL
Wouldn't it be easy to hire 1-2 staff members to do one thing: communicate with the users. a Content and Community Manager (or CCM) * Thank you * -They can do daily reports to the staff with all the problems/bugs and give answers to the users with small updates about the bug fixing (working on it/I have no idea/tomorrow/fixed etc.)
The staff clearly don't have the time to do all those things on a daily basis or during a crisis, the solution is to give this task to someone else.
Do you have any custom CSS? Trying deleting it and see if that helps. I had this problem a long time ago and I'm pretty sure this fixed it.
You basically just described the job of a Content and Community Manager (or CCM). I'm actually kind of astounded that Subeta doesn't have one. Staff-user communication has always been lacking, with exception to the small bursts of effort after one of these threads pops up. A CCM should have been one of the first things they looked into. It would be their job to interact with the userbase so other staff doesn't have to (and their valuable time can be spent fixing the site instead, for example).
Although, I do think daily reports would be a bit much. ;p I don't expect that staff to update us on every little detail every single day, but I do expect a simple "We're aware of the issue and we're working on it!" on Twitter or Facebook if there's a lengthy downtime or if the site's very unstable.
pinging [-Mob] for you, found a bug with special character UNs and quotes.
Oh wow thanks, I totally didn't catch that. :)
thank you I didn't know this kind of job actually have name! I'm changing it right now "^_^ Daily reports.. well you know here "another day another bug" lol but yes maybe it can be too much xD
thank you for responding but yes, I've already tried that, there's nothing in my css but it makes no difference. several people have suggested this to me and no one has any other solutions :(

Why not try contacting Grelca with a comment or sMail? She may be able to help or get you in contact with a programmer who can.
They may have fixed the issue with names. Doing the ping button puts a [] around the name for the ping. So we can see after this.
@blackwolf_2009 pings yes, but quotes don't work correctly. if you quote [user=King-Mob] you'll actually ping
[-Mob] - I'd try getting in touch with an admin or programmer, and see if they'll let you make a second account to see if the problem persists? Obviously there are rules against having multiple accounts, so you shouldn't do this without their OK, but it might provide some useful information.
If you still have the double purchase issue on the new account, then it's something on your end that you'll need to figure out. If it doesn't happen again, then that should confirm that it's a problem with your first account, and maybe the programmers will take a closer look?

getting in touch with a programmer would be a good idea but im already 100% certain this is not on my end. this problem persists no matter where i am logged in - firefox, chrome, ie; library computer, school computer, my personal computer. it has no realtion to my custom css.
SLAVA BOGU // MY WISHLIST[-Mob] - I've seen so many bug reports dismissed because the programmers couldn't replicate the errors, so there's nothing they can really do. Sometimes you really need to prove that the issue is on their end before they start to take you seriously. :x

from what I gather you're saying you'd buy real items that replicate the site, correct?
You're in luck if so because once upon a time (2006) this Kumos cutie used to be sold.
So as you can see I don't foresee the idea of any future items coming to light. And I highly doubt the sell of these helped overall with the site, I cannot recall what the funds were used for, if anything at all. So I have to vote against the idea of a kickstarter. Not solely on this past experience but the fact the site makes a steady amount of income daily just about.
Which brings me to the fact that to this day I still have no clue what 100% of the Daily Goal is exactly in terms of currency at the end of each day. If the amount is fluctuated daily or weekly based on CSC and GA purchases, bonus weekends or any other sales that include users making purchases on the site with real monetary funds. That would then allow the users transparency of how well the site is doing in the daily funding department, IMO.
Knowing where the site stands from a financial stand point would make sense and it would also allow the users to know if the funds are being put back into the site accordingly or as promised.
If anyone has any update to the Daily Goal percentage bar, please share as I have not had much luck finding anything other than a few users uproars on the topic and a news post that explains the bar and how it's supposed to help maintain the sites daily operation budget.
Yep, thats what I mean :) I remember seeing the Kumos plushie a few times. I think there were some keychains that were sold a few years ago too? I could be wrong though. I think one was a Dapper Jollin...
And I wonder about the Daily Goal too. How much is it? What happens if (if anything) if the goal isn't met- do days that go over the goal make up for the short ones?

to my understanding, the daily goal is simply what it takes to keep the site online for one day. server costs, staff costs, just daily operational costs. if the goal isn't met, it isn't lumped into the next day or anything. I'm sure the goal isn't met most days, but is far surpassed on bonus weekends and when new items are released. it balances out.
I believe Keith has stated before physical merchandise isn't something they really can do because from a financial standpoint, it just isn't profitable for them to do. something like that anyway.
I don't think the users need to know actual numbers, and I don't think Keith would share the actual numbers.
