Keliora comes in grumbling and soaking wet. "If only we could figure out how to play tricks back on Peeves!"

"Peeves got me too! I yelled at him quite a bit, I hope none of the professors heard me!"

"Oooh he got you too? That little blighter! It would be awesome if we could prank him back. Pranking a ghost would be tricky, but we're Ravenclaws, aren't we?"

"Hmm. True true. Except he's not a ghost, remember, he's a poltergeist. They're even harder to get. Maybe if we could recruit the Baron..."

Craving a croissant, she headed to the Great Hall where she sat down with a group of Hufflepuffs and a Slytherin. She immediately left the Great Hall, after being pelted with a water ball by Peeves.

"Ugh! I can't believe Peeves got me too," said Beth as she reentered the common room. "I'm going to go change," she said as she headed to the dormitories.

Gaia enters the common room cry laughing and takes in the look of everyone in the common room. She starts laughing so hard she runs out of air and starts coughing. "I got hit with a lemon one! It tasted all right to me!" Gaia runs around giving everyone hugs and laughing. "We might as well embrace it! Either way Peeves is mad at me for not getting angry. I miss playing in the rain." Gaia keeps laughing and jumping in circles. "Anyone up for some wizard chess?"

"Arg noooo, not wet lemon hugs!" Ethel held out her arms and looked down at herself after the drive-by hugging. Nope, she was just as wet as she had been before. "Does this mean I don't have to do laundry?"

"NOPE! YOU GUYS KNOW WE CAN DO MAGIC RIGHT? Just dry yourselves up! Or join me in having some rainy fun here! Ethel you shouldn't complain about my hugs lemons are delicious!"

Ethel stopped and stared at Gaia, dumbfounded. "Magic? Magic is real??"

Giggles "Sarcasm is a difficult language to master." Gaia grins at her friend and pulls her wand out of her pocket. Aiming it a Ethel she waves her wand and hot-air streaming out of the tip. "There! I guess i should dry myself off too."

"Shhh, I'm hilari-eeeek!" Her witty rejoinder was lambasted by a jet of hot air ruffling over her clothes and tousling her hair. Once she gathered her wits she looked down with an impressed nod. "Say, that's not bad!"

"Like I said... magic!" Gaia laughs again. "My dad uses it when it rains for a long time and our owl houses/barns get soaked. I have seen it done so many times. He has to be really careful not to steam things to long!"

"It looks really complicated! You probably have to get your wrist at just the right angle to make it work." Ethel made a few practice flicks with her wand and wrinkled her nose. "Complicated stuff! Your owls are lucky they've got someone to dry them off!"

"My dad always says 'In case of a rainy day'" Gaia laughs at her dad's puns. "He is funny my dad, but he always had me practice with sticks. You know since it never rains in England. He thought it would be something I should learn and then perfect it at school when I got my own wand. My mom specially loves it since her delicate laundry gets done quickly and no ironing!" Gaia pops a lemon sour candy from her bag. "Want one?"

Ethel appreciated a good pun, and gave Gaia's the solid knee-slapping laugh it deserved. "That's a good idea though, practicing with sticks! The younger kids would mess around with sticks but nothing serious: just playing." Then her voice lowered to a whisper. "Sometimes Seaxburh would let us borrow theirs to practice. Don't tell anyone!"

When the candy appeared, she tipped back her head and opened her mouth, pointing to it. "Oh eh ih ah ouh!" That was throw it in my mouth for those less familiar with the open-mouthed dialect.

Gaia shifts and measures her distance to Ethel's mouth "she shoots... she scores!" Gaia roars in laughter once the sour lemon reach it's target bouncing on Ethel's lip. "I promise!" Gaia grins. "Well practicing with supervision is a good idea. It helps us be prepared for school. I guess it is better for those that were raised with magic? an advantage perhaps? I was a late bloomer but thinking back my dad always encouraged my imagination and curiosity for knowledge."

"Huzzah!" Ethel warbled around the lemon candy in her mouth. She threw her arms in the air and took a victory lap. Once she'd come full circle she dropped back into her seat.

"I suppose being born into a magical family might give us some advantage, but a month at Hogwarts and we're all on even footing!" As she pondered this she rolled the candy from one side of herself to another.

"Coming from the muggle world might have its advantages though. Muggle borns come in with a fresh slate! They don't have any ideas about what isn't possible and that might make them try things we'd never think to!"

Gaia ponders Ethel's words. "I guess then the advantage is for the Half-bloods. We have the best of both worlds! I guess you are right we do get even out quickly with out classes and assignments. Is it dinner time yet? I am starving!" Gaia says while eating another candy.

Ethel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but Hogwarts is the great equalizer! It's one of the things that made me so excited to come here!" Gaia's comment made her own stomach rumble.

"Me too! Where's a care package when you need one!"

"We could go to the Great Hall. It is after all dinner time! I wonder if () is already there! Speaking of i haven't seen () Amanda in a while she and Beth () most be doing Prefect type secret stuff."
