"They were there you can feel someone watching, but it wasn't scary. I also didn't go too far in. I turned around once I knew where I was I didn't want any trouble. Besides I wanted to finish my list! I don't think I would be able to see a thestral so they might have been there!"

"My dad travels a lot for work. As a family we breed owls and he takes them to different places when he isn't working as a healer. That also gives us an opportunity to meet creatures since many injuries come from them! Once I met a Merrow in a trip to Ireland, in his travels he had been attacked by grindylows, but it could have been worse. My dad patched him up in no time! I have also seen an Abraxan from afar. You might have heard of them giant winged horses. Beauxbatons have some!"

Ethel shivered. "Oooh, that is a little spooky. Still, I bet if we went together it wouldn't be as scary!"Her eyes grew round when Gaia mentioned that she could see a thestral. "If you can, I'm so sorry!" Realizing that this might be taken the wrong way, she added hastily "Er, not that thestrals aren't wonderful and amazing, or that if you do get to see them that isn't great, just that I'm sorry, well... you know!"

"Seeing a unicorn would be grand! Have you seen any magical creatures?"

I've seen loads of creatures. I love dragons. Pixies can be annoying. Phoenixes and Abraxans are gorgeous creatures. How about you?"

"That sounds like so much fun!!! I would like to go to a World Cup!"

"Oh dragons, hooray!" Her glee rocketed through her as she thrust her fists into the air. "Dragons are my absolute favorites! Mom and dad both work on a dragon preserve and rehabilitation place back in the states so I grew up around them." Then she paused, dropping her hands back into her lap and grinning. "Well not around around them. That would just be bonkers."

"You're so lucky to have met a pheonix and an abraxan, Beth. They are so gorgeous and graceful. I bet a goblin would be interesting to meet as well. They're so different from wizards and witches. I bet I could learn a lot from them!"

"I wonder if we'll get to meet any in Care of Magical Creatures. I've already had a ton of fun in that class meeting the crup and kneazle."

"I recommend it. I had so much fun watching the games. You can meet wizards from around the world."

"I can't wait to go! Hopefully dad can take me!"

"Oh goodness, no! You have to train for years before you can take care of a dragon without getting yourself killed. I would help mix up medicine and food for babies if we ended up with orphaned hatchlings. Besides that we just helped keep pens clean and in good order. I would go with my dad when he checked the wards on the boundaries of the preserve too. That was fun! Lots of hiking and camping."

"The World Cup sounds like a blast! Who was the most interesting person you met there?"

"I'd love to ride a dragon too! I like all of my limbs in place even better, so that ain't ever happening," she laughed.

“Nah, that’s OK. Thanks.” Fade blushed slightly at Gaia’s compliment, his hair giving away more than his face. “Sour stuff makes my tongue puffy...” Maybe puffy wasn’t exactly the word, but he was confident would spare him any ridicule he thought he deserved for saying it.

Fade shrugged at Ethel () who was understandably shocked at the fact his family kept such important and glaringly obvious things from him. “Well,mom mixed dye into my shampoo… For whatever reason I just assumed it was normal.”

Nodding in response to Beth’s () question he added. “The word Muggle still sounds weird to me.” Up until two years ago he had only ever considered himself a person, and one of a non outstanding caliber. “Mom was a Slytherin actually. Her family was very upset she married a Muggle and most of them sort of disowned her. I think magic sort of broke her heart after that… So she stopped using it.”

Ethel nodded, readily accepting Fade's explanation as she did most things (trusting one, she). "Sounds like your mom wanted to make sure that you were extra safe!" On hearing what his mom had gone through, she nodded, reassured of her opinion. "She must be a super strong person to stand up to her family like that. I don't know if I could do that!"

"And when your kids, you don't have a lot of experience with normal. Everything's fabulous and new! Anyway, I'm glad you ended up in Ravenclaw. The best place to let your colors shine."

"Puffy? giggles I know what you mean! Blue flavored sour candy makes my mouth feel funny! Like little things are pricking my tongue! Awwwe your hair turned back to normal! Pink was fun!"

"We need to ride a dragon! I am sure it is better than broomsticks!" Gaia thinks on it for a moment "Maybe not broomsticks don't need to go potty!" Gaia starts laughing uncontrollably and falls from the chair, startling Fade(). Gaia really thinks her jokes are hilarious.

Ethel shook her head firmly. "Nah, it's not right! Dragons aren't like horses or cows. They don't like people. It'd be like riding a cat. They'd get upset and angry and start spitting fire like crazy." As easily as Ethel had gone into lecture-mode she fell out again at the potty joke.

"A broomstick that goes wee! Hah! Wonder if folks would pay extra for that."

"Ethel... that... was... funny!" Gaia couldn't breathe from laughing.

"Has anyone heard anything about Quidditch?"
