funny it would affect me and not witchy
and actually, i checked my email first to see if we had gotten any reports. guess next time I need to look further than that
That [I]is[/I] funny.
It also affected my academic website today, which is what prompted me to look up what was going on. For a while, I could connect over the wireless network on campus, but not over the wired desktop computer in my office.
(P.S. If anyone wants to see what my life is like the day before the exam, it's here.)
huh. my desktop is hardwired while she was on wireless.
also, all those questions asking you how to do whatever on the practice test? My response would have been "I alreaddy told you how to do it in class"
I've long accepted the fact that anything I say in class goes in one ear and out the butthole. ;)
(On a more serious note: the 'always-wired' generation has never learned how to take notes properly. Why bother, when all human knowledge is on YouTube?)
I fault the school system. Note taking is an art and a skill, yet its never taught. You don't learn it in grade/high school, because you're spoon fed. By the time you do need it, you have no idea how to go about it.
You have to parse what's important and what's not (which is where a lot of the "will this be on the test" questions come from). For me, that was never apparent until later on in the lesson - by which time it was too late to take proper notes. When I tried taking notes of everything (so I could parse it later), I failed to absorb the lessons because I was too busy trying to get everything down. It was just frustrating. I did eventually learn a compromise that worked okay for me, but was never very efficient.

True, true! Sometimes what's important isn't apparent at first -- it takes a little hindsight sometimes to see that something that didn't seem big at first turned out to be important. And 'sadist' teachers who put minutiae on their tests on par with the important stuff -- they dont' help. Those teachers only encourage the 'I have to write down everything' mentality, and make note-taking even harder.
I've always been hopelessly bad at taking notes live. I've learned how to compensate for it, but I'm too fidgety and distractible in classes (and nowadays, meetings) to sustain a good note-taking effort for the whole hour.

SO FREAKING FRUSTRATED WITH THIS SITE!1111111111111111111111111111111111111
And I am sick of seeing people post GARBAGE like thanks FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU DO
BULLCRAP
We would have had this stuff done a week ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
: I'm frustrated, too. I haven't been able to get through quests (or even battle quests) a single night this week for all the "Application Errors".
They're determined to go through with Fireside tomorrow. Maybe this'll be the year they pick someone other than hoarders to scapegoat and turn into the site villains. :/
I'm afraid to say it lest I jinx myself but I have been able to do most quests most days. I am really disappointed about BF. I have been working hard to be able to buy csc and finally have what feels like a decent amount if there are SALE prices! Let me spend them!!!
They are not going to blame anyone else and certainly not themselves. It is always us. Not THEM
Did you see where Keith boasted of being a leading engineer at healthcare.gov?
...guess Trump really does know the best people! (meow.)
Yes but now he works for Glitch. Which really, is just a code word for Subeta
The irony is too great to bear. sigh
man it is nice to have someone to comp[l;ain with! Witchy doesn't like complaining lol*
did that sound like a complaint? :p
: I'm glad to be a sounding board for complaints -- especially catty snark!
Everyone else:
(1) I've added the Fireside items, but haven't posted a news announcement.
(2) I'm not entirely sure which items are floating, which ones come from Charity, and which ones come from the Bonfire. Some of them are easy to guess, but if someone has a better system than I do, feel free to improve the item notes.
(3) In adding the Fireside items, I inadvertently added two unannounced items (the 'loot' prizes for the next Friendly Challenger, who appears to be Ying, the bathhouse guy.) Normally, I'd pull the items and add them later, but they're already listed in the Item Directory, so they're not super-secret, and with a new event starting, I have no idea what the lag will be like once the Challenger is announced, so I left them in this time.
it would be awesome if I could even get into my gallery to get any food or red reign stuff out. floating items seem to be pretty slow too
I've got confirmation of all floaters and bonfire items.
Still trying to confirm Charity items.
I'm assuming Helpful Sewing Bear is charity because I got other bear types. I still haven't gotten the [item2=Ash and Charcoal Knitted Sweater] [item2=Heirloom Vegetables]
I'm thinking of going ahead and just listing them as charity items. I don't see them as belonging to anything else, unless the thief has new item drops?
[edit] Checked user shops and the veggies are in the trade center. However, there are no sweaters anywhere, I'm really uncertain about that one.

the veggie book is charity don't know about the other
thanks!
I'm going to leave the sweater blank for now. None in shops, and at the head of the list. It could be battle related, could be achievement related, or who knows, a stray item from when they had problems adding new stuff.
