Nearly 8 years...wow I hadn't realized. Guess they're right when they say time flies when you're having fun.

I spent this weekend doing some tweaking in the background of the weapons database. The tweaking involved storing the different damage types and amounts in a format that's more easily searchable. (You can see that the Weapon List has some new functionality that it didn't have before. )

The new format will give us a way to store information about scalable weapons and weapons with secondary attacks without having to use comments for them.

Right now, nothing should look different from your end when editing a weapon -- I haven't done anything to the interface. But when you edit a weapon, there's an indexing step that needs to happen. It's supposed to happen automatically, but right now it doesn't. If anyone needs to add a weapon or edit the stats on an existing weapon over the next few days, go ahead and do it, but let me know when you've done it, and I'll force the indexing to happen manually. Fixing the problem with the automatic indexing won't take too long, but it's not going to happen tonight (zzzzzzzzzz!)

approached me about working on weapons for us. I only know him from what I see of him on the forums. One thing that concerns me a bit is he said there wouldn't even be much to do since there are only a few weapons released a year. There are other things we have been discussing that he would need to be working on. I am not really good at saying hey you have to work for free and dit is more than what you think. I know you all think I am good at it but that is just cause I know you :p

Has been commenting me a good bit lately with things that need added, corrected, updated, etc. Today when she gave me a list I asked her if she wanted to come work for me, mostly joking. However, she said if I were serious she would like to try it out. She would, of course, need training on all the admin stuff but not the battle stuff.

I think THESOVEREIGN can do more than just correcting weapons and other, they can actually build a big Battle section, with general battling guides, challengers guides and strategies and many other things.

Laurey - Why not? we all need more help, especially with fixing old items!

That is what I had in mind when talking about a battle admin. But his comments tome made it sound like he was just thinking bare bones basics.

Laurey would be a good addition. I'd like to have someone around who really knows battling and weapons, and THESOVEREIGN probably has the knowledge base we're looking for, but I'm not convinced he has the work ethic to stick around for long.

yeah I got the same impression, maybe open up about this idea and see what he says, so things will be more clear to him and us

I think Laurey would be a fantastic addition (and yes, I'm perfectly happy to train :P).

As for THESOVEREIGN, we do need a battle person, desperately. Perhaps you can send them a "job description" where you discuss the fact that we are looking to very much expand our Battle information, a thorough going through old weapons to make sure they are listed as they should, in addition to adding new weapons. An info page on how to release "secret" opponents and cash shop, etc. Make it really long! Indicate that we aren't expecting to do everything all at once, but you're thinking in the area of at least x number of hours per week. Then ask if they're still interested. They really do need to understand what's expected of them.

Also, if they provide the info, I don't mind creating the pages if they don't feel up to doing that.

I know Laurey has always been really friendly and helpful and would probably be a good fit for the team. I'm honestly not sure about THESOVEREIGN - I know he knows his battle stuff, but I don't really know him and haven't really interacted with him.

I'm just about to add all the items for Morostide achievements to my achievement table. I was wondering if its easier to go through them individually and add the achievement note to SubetaLodge at the same time - or if you can mass add them from a spreadsheet again?
