<p>I was hoping to talk to Bug or Amber or maybe someone else about some stuff. For SubetaLodge.
We currently have a cron set to update the user shop prices for all official items.
The cron updates 120 items every hour, Items of rarity 200 or higher are never updated (these include custom clothing, which rarely sells for sP and unobtainable/staff items.)
At 120 items an hour it takes 21 days to get through all the items and of course, the more items that are added, the more time it will take.</p>
<p>As I am sure you know, user shop prices can fluctuate a lot in 21 days.
I am hoping to be able to increase the number of items we update every hour, at least during less busy times, overnight, etc. so that we can have more current prices and more accurate price history data.
But I also don&;t want to put a strain on Subeta.</p>
<p>If you think it is a possibility we would be more than willing to do some test runs or anything else you might want to take a look at. Needless to say, if it presents too much burden we would back off to our present settings.

<p>After discussing with Keith a bit more, we think an even better solution would be to offer custom API endpoints for SubetaLodge to provide any data you need. By API endpoints, I mean a set of URLs just for SubetaLodge to use, that will deliver just the specific information you need.</p>
<p>There&;s several benefits to this:</p>

<p>We can provide this data in the most efficient and easiest-to-use format - basically, any format of your choice. JSON, XML, whatever you prefer. You won&;t need to scrape any HTML.</p>

<p>Since only SubetaLodge will be using these endpoints, we can reduce caching to provide you more accurate, real-time data.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Since we are only providing the data you want, instead of loading the site&;s CSS, sidebar, etc, the endpoints will load faster for you and also produce less strain on our servers.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>I&;ll have to discuss this with your developer(s) to determine exactly what data you need/what endpoints are needed, and we can tailor them to fit your needs. Please let me know the best way to get in touch about this. We could speak through this ticket, I could open a ticket with osterizer, or we could also use Discord or email if preferable.</p>

Hi Bug. Thanks for getting back with more information. This sounds like a great solution. Thanks for being willing to work with us and not telling us to get lost! There is no point in me trying to be an interpreter and go between Let me check with Osterizer and see what form of communication works best for him.

How much extra work is this going to be for you???
: Depends on how much they offer, I guess. Right now, we're grabbing these things from Subeta's HTML:
- New item information
- Item price
- All the different collections (the collections are pasted in instead of us grabbing them, but they're still coming from HTML.)
I doubt they'll want to give us a 'back door' to , since we don't even have a front door to those collections! If they do, that'll be the most time-consuming part on my end, but the other two things should be something I could take care of over a weekend afternoon.
This probably sounds like a dumb question but what do we do with grabbed collections?
-- when people mass add to one of their collections. We're making the users paste in the collection instead of us going out and grabbing it ourselves, but we still scrape the data out of the HTML the same way.

This is just a reminder. When they change something that opened and gave a random item, along with the name of said something, the item notes for all of the items need to be changed as well. ie: Delphi Crate used to be called Delphi Chance Crate. The crate itself was corrected but the item notes still said and searched for "delphi chance crate", so it went to a non-existent page
sorry, I'm a huge ball of stress right now. I need a day or two off. I can still update the newly wearable page.

I saw that they changed the feral trunk, I can try to help get all the notes adjusted - it looks like we don't have a full list of the items linked to it anyhow but I can work on that now (I bought a couple so I'll open one and not select it and start fixing item notes).
[edit] 279/279 items now showing when you click on the link in the feral accessory trunk to see what all the options are.

No problem at all. There was just a discrepancy in how the notes were done that kept some from showing, but it's all fine now.
And no worries at all about the coupons, I was on and figured I could add them.
