Just make sure you tick the option 2 box for a cash payout instead of credit monitoring for 10 years. I'd also suggest checking the box to have them mail you a check rather than a debit/credit card thing - those tend to be a pain in the butt to use in the long run.

They lost all of our info and hopefully those checks don't take 5+ years to get sorted haha.

I don't expect it to be fast. I have been waiting about 3 years for a payout on some salon products I bought from QVC. Wondering if I will ever see that!

Nothing is more annoying than waiting on settlements. There should be a clause that payments must be sent within 3-6 months of filed claims.

LOL this is one I would rather enjoy vicariously. I haven't even checked if I was part of the data breach (unlikely), because I just don't want to put my info out there.

In similar cases, if I can check passively, I do so, but if I have to give information to someone who's already proven to be fast and loose with data, just to check if my info might be out there, I'm just not going to do so.

: I hear you. The amount of info you have to give them just to check if you're eligible is minimal, though. (Last name and last six digits of SSN. I'd have hesitated if I had to give them the entire SSN, but I figure a credit bureau probably has this info anyway.)
