Still thinking we should change them to Barbie and Ken...
Because I'm sure no one (apart from Valeria Lukyanova and Justin Jedlica) wants to be called Barbie or Ken, and so this displeases everyone!
Honestly, I just really miss the Cleavage:yes/no option from the old wardrobe. If changing to just the image is an easy fix, I see no issue with it..., but it's not something I can work myself up over either way.
I support the idea with the pictures. It doesn't affect me, but the change wouldn't, either, and if it makes people happy - why not? Simple and effective.
I wish I hadn't read this board. So much respect lost on both sides of the argument.
I don't see a need for a change beyond what's been done, but I'm not opposed to it, either.
I don't mind changing it so it doesn't say Male/Female at the top of the page, and instead just shows the avatars.
That also means that I can show the rest of the changes on the page on the avatar, which I think will be more friendly anyway :)!

Ah it was really nice to wake up to this response to my thread. (I half expected to wake up to a shitstorm, heh.) It's something I'd love to see so it's awesome to know it's something you're willing to do :D
Oh also the cleavage / no cleavage option just hasn't been added yet, it'll be in the new wardrobe for sure :)

Can we talk about a much bigger issue ? I identify as male, so why is there no base with a penis ? My virtual virility is in shock and may never be able to recover from this situation Subeta puts me in that seriously damages my daily emotional state
where is my dick where is my dick
(Because text affects the width of your signature, we suggest testing with all text removed to be sure your width is correct.)
I love the cleavage option - because I need the cleavage xD Glad to know that is going to reappear in the Beta so I don't have to switch back and forth from old to beta as much (although it would be awesome if changing the base in the Beta would then allow us to go back to the main wardrobe again because right now that is still severely broken).
no thanks. Women and men have different body shapes. I would feel extremely uncomfortable being forced to use a genderless HA base being reduced to boobs only. This would also screw up all the clothes on site.
As someone said - the majority of the population is male or female not gender neutral. I'm a woman and proud of it. I don't want to be changed to genderless; not in a virtual world or anywhere else.
Also if this was to be a third kind of body type it's more added work to artists, staff and CW, to have to draw a third kind of HA overlay.
Just use the male option and be done with it. I do not want to lose the male and female bases we already have. Forcing everyone to have a gender neutral HA is just not right when gender neutrality is such a tiny part of global society.
I have nothing against these kinds of people, but you need to look at facts and this population type is not, and never will be, big enough to have an HA that's gender neutral.
By the way - I take it you've never made a CW before? Each artist needs to draw each wearable on site to make it compatible for both bases if it's actually a body item. Staff artists need to do the same. They are not instantly unisex. It wouldn't work that way.
Edit: I might've said something on this already, but I'm saying something else - men and women have different body shapes. Giving one body shape and giving the options of breasts or no breasts is just stupid. No thanks. The percentage of men and women in the world to people who may be trans is ginormous. The men and woman population far out-strip the trans population. Even transgendered people still have their original body shapes. I think this is taking things way too far. Absolutely no support. There are men and there are women. Deal with it.

Humans...regardless of how they identify themselves, are born with bodies that generally...most of the time, fall under one of the two primary body types. If you don't want an HA of your birth sex becasue you don't identify as thus, don't choose it. This is not a social/sensitivity thing. This is a biological thing. That is what the bases are, very generalized representations of the two primary human body types. So generic in fact that you can easily tweak them to whatever you want. Male, female, in between. I frequently make very feminine male HA's, sometimes just very male. Often female. My sexuality doesn't have much much to do with what I choose. I just want to make pretty HA's. Not always a specific sex...sometimes androgynous. We need to Stop muddying something so very simple as choosing a base, with un-needed political correctness. There is nothing incorrect about identifying the sex of such a basic very customizable digital forms. Which are aside from general shape, actually like dolls, sexless physically. What I would like to see is MORE body types on both sides. curvy, thin etc. That's real progress to me. Being able to choose one or the other and being able to flip it whenever you want is quite progressive honestly.

The owner literally stated he's already changing it. Over 3 months ago.
:)
As and so eloquently wrote, most of the world does fall into two body types-male and female. We do not need to confuse the issue and create more work for the artists and programmers on the site by creating freaky body types. If you happen to wake up feeling like a woman, then put a skirt of your avi; if you want to be a boy, then wear pants. Simple as that. Please let us stop this political correctness silliness and start acting rational. Why somebody who is born with female parts would think she is a male is beyond me (or a male thinking he is a girl). Keep that stuff to yourself and let the rest of us have fun dressing our dolls, please. Thank you.
It is already being changed. Seriously it is 9 posts above.
Pretty lulzy that the only people ignoring it are the ones against it.
~Uhm...It is the way some people are wired, it's not something that's entirely understood, but some people are Born with the conviction that they are in the wrong body, that they should have been male but they're female..and vice versa. it's not about wanting to be anything..it's about who they are. I have several transgender friends, and I have seen how hard it is for them. Telling them to keep it to themselves and calling it freaky, is not really okay.
That was certainly not the point of what I was saying. My point was that there is no need for the fuss over digital dolls being male and female, because they are simple physical representations of common standard biology.. and very mutable ones. They pretty much cover all the avenues on their own because of the many wears on the site and personal preferences. I was not saying sensitivity is not called for. Which I think you missed.
