Going through these, I flinched everytime I saw someone deliberately using gendered pronouns for Quentin. I felt like they were attacking. how would you feel if you had to choose between a HA with a penis or a HA without a penis? I'm totally serious, and please don't be offended by my question.

I'm not sure how to feel about this suggestion. While I do support nonbinary options etc etc, with this particular site feature, the main difference between "male" and "female" HAs is breasts anyway, so I'm unsure how useful any changes like this would be, because in the end the option really does not matter in terms of what items you can equip etc etc (but correct me if I'm incorrect, it's been a while since I was outright active on the site).

The wardrobe is nigh-unusable no matter which version I use (half an hour to put together a Masquerade outfit!!), so I'd prefer seeing it become...workable before we start arguing semantics over relatively sex-less avatars.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean if everything about the HAs and labels on them was the same but they had genitals for some reason..?

I mean, imagine if the HAs had a penis, and we take your suggestion but we replace the breasts with penis and you had to choose between a base with a penis, and a base without a penis.

Then I would make the same suggestion - not all people with penises are male, not all people without penises are female.

If you really think it's logical to be upset over the implied sex of an avatar on a pet site, well, I don't think anyone can help you.

I don't mind the idea suggested, it makes decent sense. I also, personally, don't mind the current listed sex of the bases. They'll most likely be referred to the male base or female base in discussions regardless of whatever is changed. I guess you also have to ask where else they're going to change it. On the CW creation page its listed as male and female where you put the links to your items.

My concern is that it might get confusing when users create items. I don't know how it might be confusing, I'm sure someone else might have more insight into that. I'm not saying we NEED to keep the labels, but it's not just the wardrobe page that would need to be considered. Maybe on the CW creation page you click on the base to submit the item image for that base? But if we're going to bring up the labeled sex for the bases and the issue with that we might bring up ALL the places where they are labeled as such.
