- I'm afraid this isn't something we do, as it halts our progress as a site. If we started doing it for this item, we would be asked to do it for many others; others that may have had a much greater need for revamp than this item did, but were still loved by /somebody/ enough to want to keep the old art.
I love the new looks all-around. I kind of wish the kimono was still longer, but since I've never used it anyway, I don't have much of a stake in that either way. The non-glowing jewelry pieces look fantastic. I wasn't aware this was updated before the siteupdate ping.
A little better, but I wish the kimono had received some love too. One of the best things about the set before was the fact that the kimono was a little unique in its presentation. I'm not sure how the kimono was perceived as being well-liked, considering most people who mentioned the kimono also mentioned that, while the art has obviously improved, the changes to the sleeves were consistently disliked. But, ah well. At least some of the items are usable again.
I think the fact that this set was revamped in the first place when it really wasn't needed (and very clearly revamped for the worst) is what has upset a lot of people. I highly doubt people would start asking for transformable items of everything else if... you know... you guys didn't go around "fixing" things that weren't broken.
If an item needs a revamp, that's fine, revamp it and let that 1% bitch. But this didn't, and this "revamp" ruined a very wonderful item and a nice set, and people have every right to be angry.
I disagree with the sentiment of this set not needing a revamp. The art for a lot of the pieces was seriously showing its age, especially the hair. The shading on it is pretty awful by today's art standards; it looks thin, flat, and made of plastic. I held off getting the wig for a long time because it just looked dated. Same with the jewelry pieces. The kimono lost a bit of it's style, but it's not so bad I'd never use it again or anything.
So personally, I love the re-revamp. I think everything looks a million times better and more usable. Thanks for all the hard work on it!
Trying to stay on topic here... I don't support items being transformable. This isn't solely limited to the kimono and wig either, but in general. If the artists are taking the time to revamp an item, it shouldn't be made transformable so as to please a subset of users. Most of the users that encounter this item in the future won't know why the objects are reverting to outdated art.
The kimono and wig are fine. They're not my cup of tea and I could suggest changes, but that doesn't matter anymore. And they'll be appealing to many of the users.
I think items being transformable should only be in special circumstances- so, the Star Theater 1000/3000. The darker version was released accidentally, but it was so well loved that it was kept. The items, despite technically being the same, serve very different purposes in the wardrobe.
But two kimonos and two wigs that are essentially the same and will only serve to confuse new players- nah.
As for "fixing" things, I agree to a certain extent. But right now, the jewelry is more attractive than any of the old items- and that is reason enough to continue revamping old art items.
cough Might I suggest the costume trunks I posted about not too long ago. cough
Ah, the changes to the jewelry are great! I think the set looks really nice now. Thanks so much for the tweak :)
Thank you c: The pieces are much better, but I have to admit I'm still upset about the wig. Ahh well, que sera sera.
yay thank you!!! this was so needed.. they're beeeeeeeautiful. the old art looked so plastic-y

I really agree with Nepeta. Yes, the wig is different, but the art quality is better. A wig whose revamp I didn't like is Argo Blackout. Like, not at all.
We can't have choices and toggles and options for everything.
Excellent, delicate... gold and carnelian, fiery motes...yessss. Thank you guys, for taking the user feedback into account.
We are the ones who remember, the ones who see what was, and is, and will be.
Me~
These items are lovely. :)

still not a fan of the new shape of the wig, but the colors and linework are lovely so i'll cope.
That makes a huuuuge difference, thank you!
Personally I wasn't too fussed about this revamp either way, but I'm always immensely pleased and grateful when staff listens to its userbase and goes the extra mile to set things right. This is why I play Subeta, and why I'll continue sticking with you guys through your ups and downs.
Thank you for the jewelry revamp, they look so much better now!
I'm afraid I must disagree with you re: the kimono, it became my fave item on the site when I first started playing, and I still really dislike the changes to it, especially the sleeves. :( Very disappointed to hear it won't be reconsidered.
I actually think it would have been a good case for a transformable- one with sleeves over the hands, one with the sleeves held up.
I kept my kimono all this time hoping for an improvement, I guess I'm just gonna sell it now cause I think the revamp is hideous, ugh. I hate the wig too, but at least I didn't spend sp on that one xD
oh, wow, after all! Looks more like it again. Thank you for listening.
Happy with the latest update, the jewelry looks much better now!
Still not happy about the Kimono though. I love the sleek lines of it, it's a art-wise a great update, but I just wish the sleeves still had the fold in it, and it showed the hands like before.
