Since I never even saw the old versions of this line, I thought that the revamped pieces were pretty good. I mean if the revamped stuff had been put out and the old versions never even existed, these clothes would be pretty nice, right? But looking at the revamp next to the old version and seeing that none of it even looks remotely like it used too... Um... Eesh. I'm glad to hear that maybe it will be edited again.

I agree; I liked how it looked like a kimono. The new dress is fine, I just want a Kimono style like the old one back, especially considering how few kimono items we have on site that aren't CWs and most of those are in need of some revamps as well.

Edit: And yes, the jewelry could be toned down.....I have nothing to say about the hair though.

I feel kinda bad saying this cause I understand how the artist might feel reading it, but the revamp looks more like the older version of the set, it's like they went backwards... The hair... I don't know how to say this in a nice way, so I'll just say it, the hair is terrible, the line art is thick and the shading is crappy, it looks flat and sticky, if this was a CW it would have been rejected =/ Also I really don't like the changes in the kimono.. it doesn't look as bad as the wig but the old one had a silky texture to it, it looked like a real kimono and now it's like it's made of chiffon =_=

What a waste of a recolored overlay based on the nature of hair coupons.

Except they aren't recolored overlays? The styles are similar (and likely were drawn by the same artist)

Oh they do look a lot different now that I see the Style File image. Looking forward to the revamp of the revamp.

I really hate to say it but there are quite a few things about this revamp that I really don't like......

I don't like the new accessories. They look like cheap plastic. I think they could look better with just a few small changes though, like making the overlay image ACTUALLY MATCH the item images colors. The overlay is too much yellow, while the item images have more orange. Also, the glow on the overlay is obnoxious. I think it would be better if the glow was moved UNDER the lineart so that the black lines aren't diluted by overly dramatic yellow glow on top. Better yet, make the glow start AT the lineart so it looks like the accessories themselves are glowing. This would also make the overlay colors easier to see. That being said.... I still think I can learn to like the new accessories over time. It'll just take me some getting used to.

Now for a plus, I actually DO like the kimono revamp. The only thing I feel should be changed is the sleeves; I loved having the fingers peek out in the old overlay. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the kimono. I find the new drape across the hips just as lovely as the old one. Sorry, friends, I know many of you disagree with me in that regard.

Unfortunately, the piece I hate the most in this revamp is the wig. WHY SO MUCH POOF. There is way too freaking much volume. This makes layering with it freaking impossible. The old one was easier to layer with because it actually hugged the head properly instead of being all giant and foofy. Also, the hair actually looks fake now, whereas before it looked natural and smooth and silky. I also don't like how the face frame hugs the cheek so much, it looks stiff right there. And also, the shininess of the new wig is extremely dull; the old shininess is what made the wig look so nice and silky. I cannot say there is a single thing I like about the new wig. I prefer the old one in its entirety.

Sorry for my late post. I wanted to figure out exactly what bugged me about the revamp so I could give proper critique without being one of those whiny derps that offer no suggestions. Yuzu out.

I think the revamp is actually quite nice overall and I love how they put more flare into these solar items. I do agree that the main parts of the jewelry (the suns/earrings) look a bit clunky/like plastic and they're less delicate but I adore the new look of the flames :) The hair looks like it was trying to stay true to the old look but with a bit more volume and I adore the kimono!

I go back to the same pieces again and again. Maybe I'm dull, boring, poor... But it's mostly because of LOVE. The oranges in this set. The kimono was a sunset masterpiece. The jewelry was my favorite on the site, period. That necklace? On almost every outfit I ever put together. Those anklet things? Do you know what a godsend those things were to someone who doesn't like most of the shoes Subeta puts out? My HA are usually barefoot. These things went with so much!

The loss of the ethereal feel is sad, yes. The hair looks like an upgrade, but... more is not necessarily better. The kimono sleeves kick-butt! But do you have any idea how often my HA carries her kitty in a handbag?

I wish the 2 kimonos were separate items. They are both gorgeous. Great shading. But too different for one to replace the other.

Did I mention yellow is my least favorite color and orange is my favorite?

And to the artist: it's all great, truly. Unfortunately, it's a bit like someone asked you to re-do the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa isn't the most gorgeous piece of art on earth, but... there's just something there that can never be duplicated or replaced. Ditto here.

I can honestly say that I preferred the way the old kimono hugged the avatar... The sleeves made sense to me, as I saw it as the hands were out holding the rest of the kimono up. The folds in the original, specifically around the waist, were my absolute favorite thing... Now its another generic "Call it a kimono, even though it looks more like a kimono style shirt."
