Blake Steele Plot Labyrinth

So it's come to my attention that some people are having problems getting through the maze because of laggy javascript problems and it's acting like you went through twice despite not. I've made a javascript-free version for those of you with this problem. Hope this helps! :)

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, don’t be shy! We have something here, something reaaaaal special. Something amazing. Irreplacable! In-de-spensible! You\'ll never know how you got along without it!

What we have here, my friends, is rope. That\'s right, rope. (Pause for oohs, and aahs.)

You can twist it, you can loop it, you can tie it in a knot! You can shimmy down dark and dangerous holes! You can string it between two trees and let your clothes air out to dry. Amaze your friends, amaze your family! (Amaze the mummies we all know are lurking around the next corner!)

Hurry, hurry to the Token Shop. With a product this good, supplies will not last forever!

Steele Excavations: Ninth Puzzle

Okay, hidden temple, you're starting to make me look pretty bad. I'm very embarrassed now. Maybe the expedition is cursed instead of the temple- nothing but amateurs (that steal from the dig site), a cave in, not a lot of great loot. Er, I mean 'scientific finds'.

I wonder if it's because I called the lady in the mural a butterface. Based on fairy tales, that's a good way to have someone that is secretly a sorceress put a curse on you. It's good that I haven't grown any fur, though, because I'm already over 21 and I don't happen to have a castle laying around in a remote location. A castle which all the townspeople forgot about in just 10 years, even though I was ostensibly their ruler. I don't know, if my rural village was ruled by a king, and then suddenly it wasn't, and the woods got all spooky, I'd like to think I would notice.

What is the rule with sorceresses, though? Can they be made of stone? Do they have to show up as an old hag and then get super hot when it comes to delivering the smackdown-- OKAY, NEW THEORY. The real Butterface is a sorceress mummy hidden in the temple. I'm not sure why she's a sorceress mummy, but the more I think about it, the more I like it. I'm a little worried about this whole "breaking the curse" thing, though, because you normally have to do it with true love, and I don't really want to kiss a mummy.

Do you think it would work if I wore some of those big novelty Morostide wax lips? Yeah, I don't know. It definitely violates the spirit of true love, but I don't know if it's actually against the rules. Let's think about it some more while we poke around in room nine.

Weekend Quests

Maleria is the weekend quest! Do those quests for increased prizes and special rewards!

Plushie Parlour: Spade Plushies

Remember your time digging at the excavation site fondly with these new shovel plushies from the Plushie Parlour.

Steele Excavations: Eighth Puzzle

Wow, what a let down! I was so sure-- actually, isn't eight considered to be the lucky number in some cultures? So that would make today the new most ironic day for something to go wrong! I am really committed to this idea of something going wrong, guys.

Ugh, but I honestly really thought it was going to be seven. I had a whole inspirational speech prepared. Well, I guess I can still use it when Door 8 turns bad. Let's see, how else can we prepare ourselves for the mummy apocalypse?

    3) You know how in cartoons, the bandages come off like toilet paper coming off the roll, and the mummy spins away? THAT REALLY WORKS! No, I'm kidding, they're pretty well stuck on after centuries of decay. Just think about it. No touchie!
    4) Mummies may be part of a multi-part curse! Expect them to summon evil sand golems and swarms of flesh-eating bugs.

So, that's that, I guess. Go ahead and <a href=/explore/steele/room.php?room=8>move on to Room 8. I'll keep working on my speech; I'm sure the survivors are really going to love it! Good luck!

Steele Excavations: Seventh Puzzle

It's number seven today, isn't it? Some would say it's lucky number seven, but do you want to know what I think? I think we've had an usual amount of luck so far. Sure, we had a minor cave-in, but if we take this expedition and compare the exploration encountered to the horror encountered, the ratios are way out of whack!

It's not like I'm wishing that something would go wrong, you know, but I am thinking that this room would be the most ironic for it to happen in. Important notes for the mummy apocalypse:

    1) No matter how fast you run, the mummy will somehow keep up with you, so save your energy.
    2) Mummy-killing has an important strategy of it's own. Taking off the head will not work! You have to bring an end to the ancient curse that keeps the mummy alive. Invest in books, not guns!

So yeah, keep that stuff in mind while you <a href=/explore/steele/room.php?room=7>poke around in the seventh room.

Name Clearing!

Name clearing time! If the site gets laggy I will likely take it down, so you might want to avoid starting anything time sensitive (like item hunter quests) until it\'s done. :)

Ads

Subeta & Ads

Hi everyone! If you have a normal account, I'm sure you've noticed that in the rotation with our site ads, you now see Google ads. I want to take a minute to tell you why, and also just discuss ads in general with you.

I'll be honest, I hate ads. I think that they're ugly. However, I think that a lot of people get the sense of 'selling out' when they see ads on a site that they love, which is something I don't agree with. If your favorite blog has ads, that means that they're just trying to make money on the content that they're making, that you enjoy, which I don't think is wrong at all. Now you're thinking that we already make money from the Cash Shop, what do we need more money for?!

The first thought a lot of people have when they see ads beyond selling out is that they are there just to create a lot of extra money for the people running the site. I know that when ads pop up people get this idea that we're getting rich on the Subeta Team, and I may be putting a down payment on a plane with my face on it. While that would be awesome, that is not the case. We're in a bad economy right now, which means that sadly our users don't always have the option to buy cash shop items like they have before, and maybe not as much, or even at all. Ads give us another stream of revenue so that we can continue hiring new staff, releasing new content (art costs money!), and keeping the site running smoothly on the server side. All of these things cost a lot of money and having another stream of revenue is extremely beneficial to us in our quest to give you guys the best website EVER.

Right now we have the ad in the rotation at the top of the page. I admit that this may not be the only ad that you see on the page as a normal user in the future. We are testing with other placements, and there is a possibility that they will show up in other places. If you don't want to see ads we highly suggest purchasing a Gold Account, but also googling "Adblock" and the name of your browser will remove them.

Thank you everyone, and we hope you've been enjoying our plot so far!
